Justin Bieber took time away from smoking up and splitting with Selena Gomez this week to pose for a photo with one of America's best swimmers.

The Biebs met up with Missy Franklin prior to a show in Denver Monday night, with the Olympic Gold Medalist caring not one bit about those Justin Bieber smoking weed stories.

"With the Biebs," Missy wrote as a caption to this photo. "He truly is a wonderful and genuine person! Such an honor to meet him!"

Bieber then responded in mind: "@FranklinMissy nice meeting u too. Enjoy the show."

With Justin and Selena now over for good, might Bieber take a dip in Franklin's pool? If you know what we mean?

They would make a cute couple, wouldn't you say?

Just call her Lord of the Olympic Rings.

Four-time swimming gold medalist Missy Franklin recently celebrated her historic efforts in London by getting a new tattoo. "All inked up! AHH! Can't believe it! My one and only!" Tweeted the 17-year-old. Missy Franklin's tattoo, obviously, is of ...

Did Franklin's parents not only approve, but accompany her to get it? JEAH!

"Hahaha yes they did!" the minor tweeted when asked, by fellow swimmer Matt McLean, if her parents had to go with. "They were very professional :)"

Missy says this was a one-shot deal, and "never something I ever thought I would do," but it has "so meaning to it and it is really something that you have to earn."

Not sure you have to earn a tattoo (it's no gold medal), but fair enough. Maybe her USA teammate can get a matching one for the next Ryan Lochte-Missy Franklin Twitter pic.

What do you think of Missy Franklin's tattoo?

For Missy Franklin, it pays to win a Gold Medal.

Yes, that's literally true, based on the monetary award given to Olympic champions. But it's also true emotionally, as this 17-year old swimming star has found out.

The Colorado native has already received Twitter props from Justin Bieber, but the singer and his adorable brother have now taken it a congratulatory step further. Watch their video message to Franklin below, along with her reaction to it:

Franklin, who has earned four Gold Medals in London and says she'll soon attend a Bieber concert, said of her experience after finishing first in the 4X100-meter medley relay on Saturday:

"I am over the moon. I'm not even on Cloud 9, I'm on Cloud 568! It's just amazing."

Did they succeed? NBC will air the races tonight, so stop reading now if you wish to be surprised on television...

YES! Both Franklin and Phelps took home even more Gold, leaving competitors far behind and leaving an even more indelible mark on these Games.

Franklin actually set a world record in the 200 meter backstroke, touching the wall in 2 minutes 4.06 seconds, a full second ahead ofRussia's Anastasia Zueva. The winning medal is Franklin's third Gold and fourth overall.

And she's only 17, people!

America's swimming sweethearts, Ryan Lochte and Missy Franklin, are making news not only for their amazing performances at the London Aquatic Centre, but for this adorable photo posted on Twitter last night.

Ryan, 28, and Missy, 17, are already fan favorites, and this will only reinforce that. Here are the gold medal-winners sharing a "good luck" moment before they set out to make Americans proud - and make more Olympic history - Thursday:

While Ryan Lochte has long been overshadowed by Michael Phelps, he's become a star in his own right in London. As for Missy ... does anyone not love her?

Exactly. The only question: What's your reaction to this pic?

Missy Franklin is a new American hero, and now she's reaping the rewards.

A Gold Medal? Sure. Future endorsement deals? Most likely. But the 100-Meter Backstroke champion really hit the jackpot today when she received Twitter props from a handful of celebrities... including Justin Bieber!

"heard @FranklinMissy is a fan of mine. now im a fan of hers too. CONGRATS on winning GOLD! #muchlove," Bieber wrote to the swimmer this morning, which prompted the sort of response you'd expect from a 17-year old:

I just died! Thankyou.

American Idol champion Scotty McCreery also expressed support for Frankilin, Tweeting: "We're rooting for you @franklinmissy! Keep it up! #USA."

Franklin has earned an individual Gold so far and a relay Bronze. She has qualified for five more events and if she advances the finals in each one, she'll become the first female U.S. swimmer to swim in seven event finals in a single Olympics.
