In a manner of speaking, of course.

Anyone who's followed Mischa Barton news lately knows hers has been anything but beautiful. You know, trying to claim her own life, being on suicide watch and all.

But despite Barton's health concerns, she is back and filming The Beautiful Life, a CW pilot debuting this fall, as planned. We wish Mischa the best of food health.

Here she is with co-star Elle McPherson ...

Mischa Barton: Lucid, returning to TV soon.

The show, revolving around a group of models in New York City, also stars Corbin Bleu of High School Musical fame, former supermodel McPherson and two newcomers, Sara Paxton and Ashley Madekwe. It looks like a pretty entertaining series, actually.

Some promotional photos for The CW's freshman fall series, The Beautiful Life, have just been released, including this hot new cast picture below.

Conspicuously absent? Mischa Barton. She says she's really happy now, but we are guessing the producers are not so happy with their lead star.

Word has it they've been working on a contingency plan in case Barton is not stable enough to follow through with filming. Probably a smart move.

Here's the cast, sans Mischa ...

It's a Beautiful Life for these young hotties, with or without Barton.

Just in case you thought Mischa was gone altogether, though, think again. A second photo was released that shows Barton, who reportedly tried to take her own life last week, looking suitably angry and bored in this episode still:

Will troubled Mischa Barton star on The Beautiful Life all season?

Either Mischa Barton is delusional, or she's found the best doctors on the planet.

Less than a week after sources said the food-adverse actress tried to commit suicide, Barton appeared at a party in Los Angeles last night.

Asked how she was feeling, the troubled star told OK! magazine: “I’m feeling great! I’m really happy.”

As for filming on her new show, The Beautiful Life, which some believed was delayed due to Mischa's recent hospitlization? Couldn't be better, she said.

“[It's] going really well... I’m excited.”

An Utter Mess

A couple hours into the shindig - during which witnesses said Barton was not spotted drinking alcohol - an insider said she and a friend left to “go home to watch True Blood.”

Hey, at least she has good taste in TV (as opposed to fashion; what the heck is that contraption above?!?).

Said a fellow guest about Mischa’s state of mind: “She seemed to be in a good mood. She was smiling and appeared to be genuinely happy."

Mischa Barton may be starring on The Beautiful Life this fall.

But, sadly, no description could be more ill-fitting for the actress herself these days.

Following talk that Barton was admitted to the psychiatric ward of Cedars-Sinai Hospital because she was strung out on coke, a source is confirming the rumor that the actress also tried to commit suicide.

"She tried to kill herself," an insider told E! News, while another source added: "She was being crazy that day [when she went to Cedars Sinai Medical Center]."

Of course, Barton's rep classifies the suicide allegation as "absolutely false."

He said to Ted Casablanca of E! News: "Your source is far from knowledgeable, as nothing they've told you is true, inclusive of the suicide attempt."

The same rep did not offer any actual reason for why is client was admitted to the hospital in the first place, however.

As for her status on the aforementioned CW series this fall?

"The network and studio have been supportive of Mischa's casting and subsequent recovery all along. Thanks for checking, though," he bitterly replied.

Two weeks after being placed under a Britney Spears 5150 psychiatric hold, Mischa Barton has left the hospital and is ready to resume working.

"I can confirm that she's left the hospital with the intention to resume production" of her new CW show, The Beautiful Life, her rep said today.

Mischa Barton was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center July 15 after calling police for "personal issues."

But fortunately, Barton appears to be making progress since the meltdown.

Ashton Kutcher, co-creator and producer of The Beautiful Life, said as much.

"I can tell you right now Mischa Barton is doing great," Kutcher said.

Mischa Barton is back on the outside ... for now.

Production on The Beautiful Life, which stars Barton as a pill-popping supermodel (somehow it seems like an appropriate casting) is set to begin Friday.

The CW had been making contingency plans in case Mischa didn't show up for filming, casting a character with similarities to Barton's Sonja Stone.

A week after being placed under psychiatric hold, Mischa Barton is "still seeking treatment but making improvements," her rep Craig Schneider said.

Schneider would not elaborate, but said that the 23-year-old actress plans to report to work on her CW series, The Beautiful Life, later this month.

A rep for the show, which stars Barton as a struggling supermodel, says shooting is slated to start on July 31. That's two weeks later than planned.

While the show says the delay was not due to Mischa Barton's troubles, but to "problems with the sets," multiple sources say The Beautiful Life producers are working on a Plan B (i.e. a new character) in light of the actress' hospitalization.

The hard-partying Barton was placed under a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold (a.k.a. the Britney Spears hold) at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center July 13.

"She's going through a rough patch," says Benji Kohn, producer of her new film Homecoming. "I hope Mischa is OK. My thoughts and prayers are with her."

Barton is said to be coked up and suicidal. Hopefully not. Here's hoping this once-promising actress gets better and that she stars on her show as planned.

The Beautiful Life will go on with or without Mischa Barton.

Although reps for The CW and CBS declined to comment, multiple sources are saying that the producers of the upcoming model-centric drama are quietly readying a Plan B in light of the troubled actress' current medical woes.

Said plan involves a new female character to fill the void left by Barton. While it would not be a direct recast, a new recurring character would bear a striking resemblance to Barton's experienced supermodel, Sonja Stone.

Production on The Beautiful Life, originally scheduled to begin on July 22, was pushed back a week - but not because of Mischa Barton.

Per a spokesperson for The CW, the show's sets were not ready for their close-up. Good cover story, guys. We like the creativity at least.

Production on the series now set to resume the last week of July, with the show's premiere still on schedule for a Wednesday, September 16 pilot.

Barton was hospitalized last week after the former star of The OC personally called the L.A.P.D., which responded to her unspecified health problem.

Reports that she is coked up and suicidal and placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at an L.A. hospital have not been confirmed by her reps.

Mischa Barton remains under an involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's in Los Angeles.

As the actress undergoes evaluation and receives treatment, new information is leaking out about what landed the skinny star in trouble in the first place.

Sources have told The New York Post that Barton was coming off a three-day cocaine binge late last week when friends became concerned that she might kill herself. As a result, they called the police.

"She's in very bad shape," an insider told the newspaper. "She's running out of money and can't find love, so now she is looking for a good time to escape her misery. She is on a downward spiral. She is a suicidal, uninsurable mess."

Quite Troubled

Reportedly, Barton was stumbling around the pool of an L.A. hotel last week, even removing her top at one point, oblivious to onlookers.

Said another friend:

"She is a tortured and troubled person. You can survive a bad review, but when you don't show up for the premiere of your new film, it's not a good sign of where your career is heading."

Regarding that career: The Beautiful Life, Mischa's new show on The CW that debuts this fall, is scheduled to shoot on July 31. No yet word about the actress' status on the series.

Mischa Barton – who called police with an undisclosed health problem this week – may be hitting another rough patch in her personal life, sources report.

"She has been dealing with a lot of personal issues," a pal says. "I don't know if she ever gave up the bad habits that got out of control a few years back."

The 23-year-old star of the CW's new series The Beautiful Life was scheduled to attend the premiere of her movie Homecoming Thursday in New York City but remained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles under psychiatric hold.

That's right, the Britney Spears hold.

"I wish Mischa all the best. First and foremost, we want her to get healthy," Homecoming producer Austin Stark told People. "It's obvious we'd like her to support the movie and be here with us, but we hope she gets better."

5150: Troubled Mischa Barton is being held on psychiatric hold in L.A.

Her rep declined to comment on the report of her in the psych ward, but said, "Mischa has been hospitalized per the recommendation of her doctor and resting."

Her hospitalization comes two years after Barton was also hospitalized in May 2007 after feeling ill at a friend's Memorial Day barbeque. It was the start of what would become several months of both legal and personal troubles for Mischa.

Back in December 2007, Barton was arrested for DUI, marijuana possession and driving without a license after police spotted her straddling two lanes of traffic while under the influence of alcohol, according to authorities.

Later that year, the actress split from her musician boyfriend Taylor Locke after dating him for a couple of months. In late 2008, Barton began dating another rocker, The Kooks' Luke Pritchard, but called it quits in March.

She has most recently been linked to Noel Fielding.

The star has also had to fend off celebrity gossip reports after photos surfaced showing a thinner Barton, prompting speculation about her weight and health.

Former OC and current The Beautiful Life star Mischa Barton placed a non-emergency phone call Wednesday to the LAPD for "medical issues," according to E! News.

"Shortly after 3 p.m., a patrol car did respond to assist her with medical issues," officer Karen Rayner said. "No one was arrested and no one else was involved."

Sketchy much?

The spokeswoman would not say whether deputies were still helping her on the scene or if the problem was serious enough to warrant seeking medical attention.

No word what exactly ailed her, but we're guessing it wasn't food poisoning, if you know what we're saying. We're saying you have to eat in order to get that.

The 23-year-old was escorted to an undisclosed location.

Happy Mischa

In December 2007, the sort-of troubled star, who has been pushing the lower limits of boyfriends and fashion the past couple of years, was busted in West Hollywood for DUI and marijuana possession following a traffic stop.

She was subsequently rung up on misdemeanor charges of DUI and driving without a valid license, for which she received probation after cutting a deal.

Barton was kicked out of a nightclub bathroom earlier this month.

Mischa Barton Quotes

I don’t care if people try to put me down. I just think it’s so sad that that’s what people spend their time doing. It might sound crazy, but I’m a really nice person.

Mischa Barton

That was a low point for me. I never, ever would have thought I would be arrested. I was disappointed because it associated me with a group of girls that I would rather not be associated with.
