Vivid Entertainment has halted circulation of the 2010 Mindy McCready sex tape in the wake of the singer's suicide, according to news reports.

Vivid CEO Steve Hirsch says he has no plans to resume distribution of Baseball Mistress, which features McCready and her boyfriend at the time.

It's unclear when the footage was shot, but the title stems from her alleged affair with married MLB legend Roger Clemens ... who is not on the sex tape.

Mindy McCready does talk about the affair with Clemens on the video, however ... and later denied she ever authorized the release of Baseball Mistress.

When hilarious news of a Mindy McCready sex tape broke Monday, we had a good laugh and wondered how long it would be until she pretended to decry its XXX release.

3... 2... 1...

"We are not aware of the production or release of the alleged film that seems to have surfaced via various media reports," McCready's attorney, Adam Dread, said.

"We can confirm that any illegally-obtained property, and/or fabricated footage, and the release thereof, will be dealt with swiftly following proper legal procedure."

BASEBALL MISTRESS: That she was, though Roger Clemens is not involved in Mindy McCready's sex tape, making the title kind of misleading. Funny, but misleading.

We've been around the celebrity sex tape block long enough to know that the statement from McCready's lawyer was likely written with one or both of these goals:

1. To act indignant and pretend the sex tape was "leaked"
2. To get McCready in on the profits, a la Kim Kardashian

We find it unlikely Vivid would make it this far without obtaining legal waivers, but either way, you could say that she's playing hardball ... eh? Baseball Mistress?

The long-awaited Mindy McCready sex tape (don't act like you weren't wondering about it) is on the verge of being released, and its premise is far from unfunny.

With Mindy McCready, Baseball Mistress, the troubled singer joins the ranks of sex tape purveyors like Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Shauna Sand, and so on.

The funny thing about calling it Baseball Mistress - besides that Mindy McCready has a sex tape at all - is that it's a reference to her affair with Roger Clemens.

The steroid fiend and MLB legend is not featured on the tape, of course. Minor detail. Still, McCready donned baseball-themed garb for the cover, so ... yeah:

The affair that rocked baseball? The testimony that shocked Congress? Okay, those things apply to Roger Clemens. The raw sex that started it all? Not sure how that does.

We have to guess that Vivid Entertainment, which has set an April 19 release date for the Mindy McCready sex tape, will be hearing from Rog's lawyer Rusty Hardin.

Then again, he isn't mentioned by name, and who knows, maybe he already gave his consent in exchange for a cut of the profits. Dude's image kind of took a hit.

The video features McCready and a boyfriend named "Peter," and in addition to the feverish body slapping, McCready offers commentary about previous conquests.

Her bedpost notches include Alan Jackson, Dean Cain and, of course, Clemens. No mention of Kari Ann Peniche, whose Eric Dane tape Mindy's accused of stealing.

Kari Ann Peniche did not have sex with Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart, the troubled former beauty queen, who believes their nude tape was stolen from her, says.

The alleged Eric Dane sex tape, featuring the drugged-up naked trio, contains absolutely no sex, and none occurred when the camera was off, Kari Ann said.

In a statement, Dane's lawyer went out of his way to distinguish between a sex tape and a naked video. Which is not to say the 12-minute tape isn't risque.

The three played dress up and the two naked women then lounged together in a bathtub as Eric filmed them, high as kites and musing about porn names.

It's weirder than it is hot.

As for how it was leaked, Kari Ann Peniche says the nude video was stored on the hard drive of her computer, but stolen by troubled country star Mindy McCready, her roommate after the two completed a stint on the TV show Celebrity Rehab.

Kari Ann Peniche says she got into an argument with McCready over money and the singer ganked her hard drive as a result. Peniche freaked about personal info on the hard drive getting out and filed a stolen property report with the LAPD.

Peniche was kicked off Celebrity Rehab for stealing from McCready, ironically.

The disappearance of her hard drive eventually led to a meeting of reps and lawyers for Eric Dane, Rebecca Gayheart, Kari Ann and Mindy, in which Dane was granted rights to the video and everything was assumed to be resolved.

Until the Eric Dane tape surfaced on the Internet yesterday, that is.

There is another rumor going around that the nude tape surfaced as part of an official investigation into Kari Ann Peniche's alleged sex-for-hire business.
