Miley Cyrus' dog died back in April, setting off a downward spiral of depression for the singer that had many fans concerned for her wellbeing.

After word got out that Miley's dog was killed by a coyote, much of the concern turned to outrage, and some of Miley's Twitter followers accused her of being an unfit pet owner.

Miley's new dog Emu was all over her Instagram page over the weekend (It's actually her second new dog since the coyote attack. She gave the first away, feeling that it was "too soon."), and while she's clearly in love, she wants to make sure everyone knows she hasn't forgotten about the dear, departed Floyd:

That's a video that Miley took of a wall in her house that serves as a shrine to Floyd.

Regardless of how you feel about Miley's abilities as a pet owner, certainly everyone can agree that the shrine video is kinda sweet, but more than a little creepy.

Looks like he fits right in, doesn't it?

Last week on Twitter, not long after her dog Floyd died, Miley Cyrus wondered if she could ever love again.

And today, via that same social media network, she sort of answered her own question: not yet.

In a message to followers, the singer explained why she gave away Moonie, the pet her mom gave to her soon after Floyd passed away from a coyote attack.

Because she's that big of a star these days, it's been all over the Internet this week that Miley Cyrus' dog died.

The singer described her pain over the loss as "unbearable" and Miley even broke down on stage at one point, overcome with grief.

A bit melodramatic, sure, but we understand. Losing a pet can be tough, particularly when the death happens in a violent, unexpected fashion as we just learned was the case with Miley's dog, Floyd.

A backup dancer posted a comment on Instagram about Floyd, expressing his condolences (seriously, when celebrities mourn, the whole world mourns.

But when a friend commented on it asking what happened, the dancer accidentally revealed that the dog was killed by a coyote.

Earlier this month, students at Grand Valley State also recreated this video, much to the chagrin of university officials and the pleasure of the Internet.
