New Miley Cyrus Pics: Scandalous or Harmless?
Might the next Miley Cyrus scandal be upon us?
A couple weeks after a video of the singer smoking out of a bong surfaced, new Twit pics have circulated online. It's unclear when these were taken, but click on each for a larger version:
Are these images especially lewd? No. We can even hear the Miley defenders already: all teenagers take photos such as this! What's the big deal?!? Leave her alone!
But at some point Miley has to realize she's a public figure and has to act in a more responsible manner. Is it really too much to ask for her to refrain from snapping such pictures? We get it. She's 18. She's branching out. She's maturing.
Let's just hope this urge to continually make such points doesn't result in any truly regrettable actions on Miley's part.
Celebrity of the Year Finalist #3: Miley Cyrus!
With 2010 drawing to a close, it is with much pride that THG unveils its 10 finalists for its prestigious, Fourth Annual Celebrity of the Year award.
These stars all gave us their best, their worst, their nude pics (sometimes) and their scandals (often). This month, THG honors that greatness.
After the Jersey Shore cast fist-pumped its way to #4, we present one of our most polarizing figures at #3 ... Miley Cyrus!
Perhaps more than any celebrity we cover, 2010 was a year of ups and downs for Miley, lows and highs (literally!).
It began with the official announcement that Cyrus would be saying farewell to the role of Hannah Montana, and it ended with a bong-smoking controversy that epitomized the lengths this star had gone to over the past 12 months to prove she was transforming into an adult artist.
Happy Holidays from the Cyrus Sisters
Miley and Noah Cyrus hope you have a healthy holiday season.
In the following video, the sisters are at home and are sending a message to fans: merry Christmas and happy New Year! Oh, and also listen to all of Miley's plans for 2011.
The singer makes no mention of her recent salvia scandal, as the public seems divided over whether or not she should issue any kind of apology or explanation. What do you think?
Rachel Moran Presents: The Miley Cyrus Bong Song!
There are many ways for aspiring singers to get noticed.
For Michaela Wallace, it was pretending to be Justin Bieber's girlfriend. For Rachel Moran, it's mocking the fact that Miley Cyrus was caught on video smoking out of a bong.
In a new single aptly titled "The Miley Cyrus Bong Song," Moran actually films herself at the same club where Miley got herself high and loopy. She parodies the scandal by crooning: "It looks like Liam or am I seeing things? And you say he's your boyfriend, but I'm pretty sure he's not anymore."
On her website, Moran writes:
"I, Rachael Moran, am more than your average singer. In LA of all places people are here to fend for themselves. It is my mission as a young artist (18 years old) to not only catapult myself into the spotlight, but to bring others up with me."
And brings others down, it seems. What do you make of this video? A fun way for Moran to make headlines? Or a mean way for her to exploit a troubled fellow teen?
Kelly Osbourne Makes Like Miley Cyrus
Kelly Osbourne isn't just defending Miley Cyrus from all haters. She's dressing up like this controversial actress!
While Cyrus continues to face the repercussions of her salvia-smoking, her So Undercover co-star continues to show Miley nothing but support. Via Twitter last night, Osbourne posted the following photo:
Kelly captioned this pic with "I'm just being Miley!"
Osbourne, of course, knows all about troubled life in the spotlight. She has entered rehab on three separate occasions for an addiction to painkillers. She was also arrested for assault in August 2008.
Since then, the former reality star has turned her life around, losing a chunk of weight, becoming active in the GLBT community and making it to the finals of Dancing with the Stars. Now, as evidenced by her pose above, Kelly wants just one thing when it comes to Miley and her critics:
Peace.
Kelly Osbourne to Miley Cyrus Haters: Back Off!
Miley Cyrus may have her detractors - from Bill O'Reilly to yours truly - but there's one person on whom the troubled star can count: Kelly Osbourne.
On location in New Orleans these days, filming So Undercover with the salvia-loving actress, Osbourne has a message for critics of Cyrus: back off!
"Miley and I have become really close," Osbourne Tweeted last night. "I'm sick of all the haters judging her."
Kelly Osbourne is securely on Team Miley. Are you?
Hey, in defense of "haters," they wouldn't be living up to their label if they weren't critical, would they?
Alluding to the infamous bong video, Osbourne defends her pal by calling it "one mistake," adding:
"Trust me she has learned her lesson! This really makes me mad. Miley is one of the most hard working respectful women I have ever worked with I am learning a lot from her!"
Miley Cyrus Poses With Fans, Gets New Tattoo
What bong controversy? Girlfriend is SO over it.
It's ALL GOOD for Miley Cyrus as she shoots So Undercover in New Orleans, La. She's reportedly been working hard ... but even workaholics need a break.
Miles may be "all business" during filming, but off the set, she was spotted stopping into a tattoo parlor for some fresh, new body ink this weekend.
Miley Cyrus holds court with a group of supporters.
The 18-year-old hit Saks Fifth Avenue with makeup artist Denika Bedrossian for some retail therapy. She was all smiles, snapping photos with local fans.
An E! source reports that Cyrus "could not have been any nicer to us or more down to earth. She was just like any normal girl shopping with her friend."
Later that night, the singer partied with fans and someone shot another Miley bong video. Kidding. But she did get matching tattoos with Bedrossian.
Sources say both were sporting small bandages on the top of their hands near their middle fingers. Perfect to show off while flipping off the haters.
Mila Kunis on Miley Cyrus Bong Smoking: Totally Weed!
Another day, another couple of reactions to the Miley Cyrus bong smoking video.
First, Saturday Night Live spoofed the singer and her most recent scandal via a new edition of that programs Miley Cyrus Show.
Elsewhere, actress Mila Kunis appeared on Lopez Tonight late last week and was asked about the singer's scandalous actions. Kunis didn't seem to care, but she did have the following opinion on the incident:
"She was smoking some weed! Come on, now; that was not no legal [substance]!"
Do you agree? Do you buy the story that Miley was actually smoking salvia?
Saturday Night Live Mocks Miley Cyrus, The Kardashians
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then a couple THG favorites should be feeling very good about themselves today.
Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live dedicated a pair of skits to Miley Cyrus and the Kardashian sisters. First, we were treated to the third edition of The Miley Cyrus Show.
This time, the guest was Nick Nolte and the topic was Miley's scandalous smoking of salvia. Watch now, as cast member Vanessa Bayer plays Miley in a spoof that, you must admit, is pretty cool:
Then, to close the final SNL of 2010, the series brought out the Kardashian sisters for a holiday message. We're grateful to Kim, Khloe and Kourtney for taking time away from whatever it is they do and we present the video below.
Miley Cyrus on Set: Embarrassed, Working Hard
While the celebrity gossip world continues to debate Miley Cyrus and her smoking of salvia - Bill O'Reilly finds it "pathetic," Dr. Drew says she needs help and Melissa Gilbert thinks Miley leaked the video herself - what is the 18-year old at the center of this controversy up to?
Work.
Miley is in New Orleans shooting So Undercover, a film that will find her infiltrating a college sorority as a FBI-hired investigator. Sources tell E! News that Cyrus received a surprising visitor on set the other day.
Anna Oliver, the friend who reportedly filmed the video above, paid her pal a visit. They got along okay, but "then Miley told her she had to go back home because she needs to focus on the movie," an insider said.
Overall, how is Cyrus coping with the controversy?
