Just as we were getting used to the new Justin Bieber haircut, Michelle Williams has come out and shocked us with a fresh look of her own.

Also sort of making like Miley Cyrus, Williams debuted the 'do last night at the Kate Young for Target Launch in New York City.

Her blonde locks are clipped awfully short and a side-swept fringe either covers her face or is tossed to the side, depending on how she's posing.

AnOther Magazine is standing by its controversial photo of Michelle Williams.

The Oscar winner poses for that publication's latest issue (on an alternative cover) in what appears to be Native American attire, a look that has inspired many critics to react in horror and describe her costume as "redface."

But the British magazine refuses to issue an apology, explaining instead via statement to Yahoo News:

"Michelle didn't do the red carpet but wanted to be there for Jason's big night," an insider tells Us Weekly. "She snuck in to sit in the theater during the screening, then they all went over to the after party together where they were hanging out with his co-star Emily Blunt and Robert De Niro."

The source goes on to describe Segel and Williams as possessing serious "physical chemistry," with the actor pecking his shy gal pal on the cheek many times and onlookers melting in their presence.

"Every actor in there was so enamored by the couple!"

Segel spoke on the relationship for the first time this week, keeping it short, simple and cute by telling Extra: "I think we would just very much like to be happy. That's all I'm going to say about it."

The world of drama has met the world of comedy in one of Hollywood's newest, cutest couples.

Multiple sources confirm that Jason Segel is now dating Michelle Willliams, as the How I Met Your Mother star and three-time Oscar nominee are "smitten and very serious," according to Us Weekly.

The tabloid has posted photos of Segel and Williams on March 24, walking through Brooklyn and, the following day, playing with Williams' six-year old daughter, Matilda.

The unexpected tandem reportedly met through the actress' close friend, Cougar Town star Busy Phillips. They were friends for awhile prior to ratcheting up the relationship to a romantic level.

"She hasn't been this happy in a long time," says an insider, who adds that the bi-coastal couple is "trying to make [the distance] work."

Asked by the magazine about the general characterization of one as "sexy," Williams said she learned a lot from her character on Dawson's Creek.

"I saw all the negative attention and connotations that can come along with that. And that those things can keep people from seeing you clearly.”

Michelle Williams is already receiving Oscar buzz for her performance in My Week With Marilyn, and from the looks of the trailer below, it appears much deserved.

The film follows Marilyn Monroe (Williams) to the UK as she stars in 1957’s The Prince and the Showgirl. Based on the book The Prince, the Showgirl and Me by Colin Clark, it is told from the standpoint of Monroe’s assistant as she shot the film.

The actress is certainly a dead ringer for the '50s icon.

Watch her in the My Week With Marilyn trailer below:
