President Obama sat down for a talk with Oprah Winfrey yesterday (it will air on her show Monday) and discussed the controversy over his birthplace.

Focused on Obama's birth certificate, or lack thereof (he released it this week), the “birther” movement questioned his citizenship and eligibility for office.

Contemplative Michelle

Typical of our Commander-in-Chief, he laughed it off.

Obama looked relaxed as he said of the birth certificate controversy: “Can I just say I was there, so I knew. I knew I had been born. I remember it.”

Barack can joke about "birthers" ... at least a little.

First Lady Michelle Obama, sitting by her husband’s side, raised her hands and said: “He was born here!” But clearly they only find it funny to a point.

President Obama went on to lambast the critics of his birthplace as “carnival barkers going around trying to get attention instead of solving problems”.

Beyonce wants you to "Move Your Body" and be healthy!

This remixed version of B's hit "Get Me Bodied" and accompanying video was created to benefit Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign.

The First Lady's initiative campaign to fight obesity has drawn criticism from Sarah Palin (but what hasn't). Beyonce is all for it, though.

Watch the singer break it down in a school cafeteria, wearing short shorts and knee socks and promoting healthy eating and exercise!

The video will be distributed to junior high schools across the country to, as B puts it, promote the benefits of living and eating well.

Beyonce said of the video that "What we want to do is make it fun by doing something that we all love to do, and that's dance."

Dance she will - and so will schools across the country, who will perform the dance moves during a broadcast on Tuesday, May 3!

Pretty cool, right? Between this and the release of President Obama's birth certificate, it's been a good day for the First Family.

Melania Trump wants to make a couple of things clear:

She won't say if he's decided to run yet, but that she "will support him no matter what he decides" and says he's not alone in his "birther" suspicion.

Donald and Melania Trump Picture

"Well I think it's not only my husband that wants to see the birth certificate. I think it's a lot of people who voted for him and who didn't vote for President Obama."

Melania, a native of Slovenia, says people are just frustrated.

"They ask where it is and why he doesn't show it. Does he have it? Where is it? Why not show it? What's the big deal? I'd show [mine]. What's the problem?"

Hawaii state officials swear that they have inspected Obama's original document and a Certificate of Live Birth was released during the 2008 campaign.

Trump has been called out by George Stephanopoulos, Bill O'Reilly and many others for beating what some think is a dead horse, but he persists.

Just today, he called in to Fox News to say "I think I've made my decision" on running and he vowed to continue to talk about Obama's citizenship.

The First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, was just named the "hottest" political figure in Quinnipiac University’s “national thermometer poll.”

The poll gauged voters’ feelings toward 23 national political figures.

TD, Michelle!

Michelle Obama registered 60.1 degrees. Husband Barack Obama, came in fourth behind former President Bill Clinton and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

The poll measures popularity in degrees on a thermometer, with 100 the highest score. While we have no problem with Michelle, this is funny for two reasons:

  1. That Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton are even on it, as they don't actually have to govern anything and anger people ... that helps the popularity.
  2. The temperature scale seems even more arbitrary than our +/- Jersey Shore recap system. Is 60.1 degrees high? Low? Who knows!

Among the Republicans considering a White House run in 2012, Mike Huckabee scored best with 51.8 degrees, Natalie Portman bashing and all.

For whatever it's worth, Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi finished last in this latest poll, with a temperature of 32.9 degrees.

Sarah Palin has a way with words. That way is ... well, interesting.

Cracks and unnecessary side comments she made during an event last week, while harmless enough, continue to undermine her attempts to be taken seriously.

No matter how wise she might be about deficits, health care and foreign affairs, her speech to the Long Island Association will be best remembered for this line:

Love her or hate her, Sarah Palin is a quote machine.

Discussing the escalating price of gas and groceries, Palin reportedly said, "It's no wonder Michelle Obama is telling everybody you better breastfeed your baby - yeah, you better - because the price of milk is so high right now!"

Alright then.

Palin has called out Michelle Obama and her campaign to reduce child obesity many times before, so that's not newsworthy. Nor is that joke offensive at all

Just weird. Childhood obesity and the medical benefits of breastfeeding are serious topics, which she's made light of in her latest bid to chide the First Lady.

While not up there with Charlie Sheen quotes, this is one of Sarah's strangest.

Barack may be a Communist, but Michelle Obama's fashion has won raves the world over, with the First Lady landing on more best-dressed lists than we can count.

Rocking everything from haute designers to H&M, Michelle does it all. But not alone. Enter Meredith Koop, a 29-year-old Vanderbilt University graduate.

This youngster has taken over the role of Michelle's personal stylist.

Koop was sent to the White House to help out with Obama’s fashion needs from Michelle's previous fashion coordinator before taking over the role full time.

A White House spokesperson says Koop is a “personal aide to the First Lady and a member of the White House Residence staff” with duties beyond fashion.

However, Koop’s “responsibilities include advising the first lady on her wardrobe and acting on her behalf in arranging for purchases." So ... personal stylist!

Sounds like a good gig if you can get it, are we right? For more moments in First Lady fashion, browse through our Michelle Obama pictures below:

If the First Lady of the United States were asked to consolidate her Valentine's Day advice in one word, Michelle Obama's choice would be easy: Laugh.

She says it's what she and President Barack Obama do, and it seems to work.

Through all the ups and downs and changes wrought by family, careers, relocation, campaigns and more, the Obamas' marriage is going on 19 years.

"I think a lot of laughing," the First Lady said this weekend at a White House luncheon with reporters who asked about the secret to the Obamas' union.

"I think in our house we don't take ourselves too seriously, and laughter is the best form of unity, I think, in a marriage. We still find ways to have fun."

"A lot of it is private and personal. But we keep each other smiling and that's good," Michelle Obama added, saying that Barack is "very romantic."

"Got to keep the romance alive, even in the White House," she said.

Aww. Click here for more celebrity Valentine's Day greetings.

Oprah's half-sister made major headlines this week, but today, the host sheds light on a family secret of a different sort. One that often goes unrecognized.

First Lady Michelle Obama visits the Oprah Winfrey Show today along with Tom Brokaw and Bob Woodward. The topic? The Bravest Families in America.

Oprah, Michelle and the famed journalists have joined forces to shed light on the sacrifice military families make when their loved ones go into battle.

Asked what moves her about our armed services, Michelle said, "Their strength. Their pride. Their courage. Their willingness to sacrifice without complaint."

"That's what moves me every time. Whenever I'm feeling bad, or feeling sorry for myself, I suck it up because of these families."

As for why Michelle is speaking up, she says it's because someone has to.

Michelle Obama's State Dinner dress won raves from many style scribes last week, but one prominent designer isn't a fan of it - specifically its origins.

Oscar de la Renta has taken the First Lady to task because the gown she donned at the dinner, in honor of Chinese President Hu Jintao, was European.

Mugler Shot

“The visit was to promote American-Chinese trade," he said. "American products in China and Chinese products in America. Why wear European clothes?”

MADE IN THE UK: Does de la Renta have a point?

The Michelle Obama pictures above show the elegant red-to-black gown, designed by Sarah Burton from the late Alexander McQueen’s design house.

McQueen was British, as is Burton, and de la Renta thought that Barack's better half should have worn an American designer's work for the occasion.

Everyone's a critic. What do you think of Michelle's dress?
