Oprah knows a good investment when she sees one.

Early in the 2008 presidential campaign, she threw her support behind a little-known U.S. Senator named Barack Obama. We all know how that turned out.

The Big O is also high on the First Lady of the United States - specifically her fashion sense. Taking style cues from Michelle turned out to be a wise move.

Yesterday, while hosting J.Crew’s Creative Director Jenna Lyons on a special “Dream Jobs” episode of her show, the media made an interesting admission.

After seeing Michelle Obama pictures showing her in relatively affordable J. Crew cardigans, sweaters and skirts, O went and became a J. Crew investor.

Oprah knows a style star when she sees one.

“The very first time I saw the First Lady, before she became the First Lady, wearing J. Crew - full disclosure – I went and bought J.Crew stock,” she said.

The host also said putting her money on Michelle’s mix-it-up, high-low look was indeed a smart bet, saying, “That [investment] was a very good decision."

Good thing, too. In these troubled economic times, Oprah needs all the financial breaks she can get. Hey, better than her taking advice from Octomom.

As stars (and kids) gather for Nickelodeon's 23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards Saturday, one unexpected honoree will stand head and shoulders above the rest:

The First Lady of the United States!

Beautiful Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama will be honored for her "Let's Move" campaign to cut down on childhood obesity, announced Nickelodeon, which has donated $3 million to it.

"First Lady Michelle Obama has taken on one of this generation's most pressing concerns: the health and wellness of our nation's children," stated Marva Smalls, Executive Vice President, Public Affairs and Chief of Staff at Nickelodeon.

The First Lady will be deservingly honored Saturday.

"Michelle's willingness to work hard, influence others and her dedication to improving the nation is inspiring, and we are proud to honor her for her commitment to empowering kids and families to address this important issue."

Also attending? Glee star Lea Michele, Steve Carell, Chris Rock, Jackie Chan, Jonah Hill, Queen Latifah, David Spade, Dev Patel, Miranda Cosgrove and Shaun White.

If you thought the House of Representatives' passage of health care reform was the biggest achievement by someone named Obama in the past week, think again.

Michelle Obama appeared on The Simpsons last night!

Sadly, the First Lady of the United States did not voice her own animated likeness, but Angela Bassett did a terrific job filling in with some quality Simpsons quotes.

Faux Michelle came to Springfield to tell Lisa it's okay to be an overachieving girl. Who knew Mrs. Obama was a reader of Lisa's organic gardening blog? Go Lisa!

One of many funny touches? Michelle going by the name "FLOTUS1." Awesome. Here's one of our favorite Michelle Obama pictures of FLOTUS1 on The Simpsons:

We may have finally found an issue on which Democrats and Republicans can agree:

Michelle Obama has invited the Glee cast to the White House because she's a big fan of this Fox musical comedy. Entertainment Weekly says the show is ready to accept an invitation to sing at the annual Easter Egg hunt on the residence's front lawn.

It will take place on April 5.

Glee Cast Pic

As far as we know, Glee has never featured a Down's Syndrome character whose mother is the former Governor of Alaska.

So Sarah Palin will need to find something else about the show to pretend to be offended by in order to remain in the news. The series actually does depict a knocked-up teenager.

Perhaps Palin can get riled up over the fact that the character's mother isn't forcing her daughter to fake an engagement to her deadbeat boyfriend because it would make for good politics. We mean, seriously. What kind of an example of Glee is trying to set?!?

If it's somehow inappropriate, offensive or in any way wrong to call the First Lady of the United States sexy ... we apologize. And we don't wanna be right!

Michelle Obama got a makeover over the weekend, as you can see.

Speaking about her Let's Move childhood obesity initiative at Fairhill Elementary School in Philadelphia, Michelle wore one of her traditional ensembles Friday.

But the next day, previewing the Governor's Ball performances, she changed things up with a sexier Jason Wu dress, a crisscross top and sleeker, sassier bob.

What do you think of the First Lady's transformation? Check out the Michelle Obama pictures showing both looks, then vote in our survey below and tell us!

Scott Baio caused a stir on Twitter after posting a photo of Michelle Obama and being flat-out bombarded with angry replies from fans and enemies alike.

Some called the actor - who has often used his Twitter page to speak out about his Republican beliefs - an "a$$hole" and many said his post was racist.

Racist? Doubtful. In truth, it was just a tasteless joke.

Scott wrote "He [Barack] wakes up to this every day" combined with a really unflattering photo. People quickly jumped on him from all angles for this.

Follow the link above to see the pic he posted. Too far?

Michelle Obama's fans have lashed out at Scott Baio.

Baio insisted the post was just a joke, however, and shared screen caps of several death threats he received. That may be a little extreme as well, people.

"Easy to find your house Scottie boy and finish you," one commenter wrote while another threatened to harm his wife and family. Wow, take a joke much?

While calling the First Lady ugly and mocking the appearance of Michelle Obama pictures isn't likely to win friends, it also doesn't warrant death threats.

This isn't the first time an unflattering Michelle pic has made news. Google issued a statement in November with regard to an offensive image search result.

You may never actually reside on Pennsylvania Avenue, but most Americans say they wouldn't mind living next door to Barack, Michelle, Sasha, Malia and Bo.

President Obama, his wife and two daughters came out on top of a recent poll that asked people who would be their most desirable celebrity neighbor.

On the other end of the neighbor spectrum?

A reality star like Octomom and her 14 kids, or Jon and Kate Gosselin and their brood of eight would be a big turn off, according to the informal survey.

In related news, Amy Winehouse is unstable.

THEY'RE #1: Politics aside, the Obamas sure seem like nice people!

Barack and Michelle Obama were followed by Ellen DeGeneres and partner Portia de Rossi, who tied with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and family at #2.

The poll by real estate site Zillow.com also found that celebrity families with large broods, like regular people, were deemed the worst likely neighbors.

Nadya Suleman, the single mom who this year added octuplets to her existing brood of six, topped the worst celebrity neighbor poll with 17 percent.

Octomom was followed by Jon and Kate Gosselin, who fortunately are no longer together. Or unfortunately, as their awfulness has now branched out.

KEEP OUT: No one wants to live next to these people.

In a reflection of her polarizing nature, former Republican V.P. contender Palin was a popular choice, but also came in third in the worst neighbor category.

She was no match for Octomom or Jonny Boy, though.

Amy Bohutinsky, Zillow.com V.P. of communications, astutely noted that "Apparently Americans are opposed to living next door to a brood of young children, particularly those that come with a television crew and paparazzi."

Whether you love or hate her husband's politics, and whether you revere or loathe her celebrity fashion icon status, Michelle Obama is a compelling individual.

Barbara Walters picked the First Lady of the United States as the most fascinating person of 2009, a choice she revealed tonight on her annual ABC special.

Obama bested music stars Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert, political phenom and lightning rod Sarah Palin, Kate Gosselin; and Michael Jackson's three children.

"First lady Michelle Obama is shaping up to be more than the sum of her parts," Walters began her piece, referring to Michelle Obama's famously buff biceps.

Michelle Obama at the recent Kennedy Center Honors.

"My personal routine hasn't changed much in the past 11 years," Michelle said when the veteran journalist asked if she felt pressured to maintain those arms.

"Some of that was, in all honesty, revenge because I'm married to a man who's worked out all his life. No matter how busy he is, he finds time to work out."

Was Michelle a good choice for the year's most fascinating?

Fascinating or not, we look forward to the First Lady continuing to showcase her style and grace. Click to enlarge lots more Michelle Obama pictures below ...

Whatever your political leanings, Michelle Obama pictures are normally things of classic beauty and grace. One offensive image is causing quite a stir on Google, however.

In fact, the Internet giant has purchased online ads on its own site in an effort to explain to users why a racially offensive image of Michelle Obama keeps on appearing.

Not only does it show up, it's in the top row of Google Image search results.

The Google ad, titled "Offensive Search Results," tries to diffuse the situation and distance the company from the result, which its own algorithms retrieve. Ironic.

"Sometimes our search results can be offensive. We agree," it reads, going on to explain why certain search results appear, and why they may be so highly ranked.

An offensive Michelle Obama picture (not this one) has Google scrambling.

Interestingly, the same Michelle Obama picture had been taken down by Google in the recent past because it violated its guidelines by serving malware to visitors.

Now, however, the offensive photo, which depicts the First Lady in an extremely, racially insensitive light, is on another site that does not violate Google rules.

And there's nothing Google can or will do about it except explain that it can't or won't manipulate its results. Which, clearly, is why the company is so successful.

Google has taken out explanation-oriented ads for other search terms that may turn up offensive results, including a similar one on Image searches for "Jew."

We haven't posted the full-size offensive image of Mrs. Barack Obama, but here's a screen cap, and you can run your own Image search if you're so inclined.

In Glamour's Women of the Year issue, the magazine is honoring the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, with a Special Recognition award.

No, not just for giving us hundreds of Michelle Obama pictures showing the latest style from haute couture to casual chic. For mentoring young women.

You simply cannot talk about 2009 without talking about Michelle, who has thrown open the doors of the White House to local children and families.

In her own modest words, “there’s no magic to being here.” With hard work, she says, any one of us can rise to greatness. Words to live by, for sure.

Fresh off her World Series appearance the other night, here are excerpts from Glamour's chat with FLOTUS on role models, careers, love, and life ...

On mentoring young women: “I think that mentoring is such a critical part of the role I can play in this position. I see how little bits of exposure can really change my girls significantly, and I want that for more girls around the world.”

Woman of the Year

Michelle Obama: Mother, lawyer, First Lady, role model.

On her "real" role models: “They were the people in my life. My mother, for sure. My dad. The teachers. For me, role-modeling was immediate, touchable. The children connect with who is in their lives, present and accounted for.”

On reaching out: “I was blessed throughout my career. I had people rooting for me. Look for those mentors, because sometimes they don’t find you. Sometimes you seek them out. Often, they will be flattered and glad to lend a hand.”

Don’t put yourself last: “I always try to put my kids first, and then... put myself a really close second, as opposed to fifth or seventh. One thing that I’ve learned from male role models is that they don’t hesitate to invest in themselves.”

On seeking the whole package when dating: “Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, who are you as a person? Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul. You should always feel good.”

On setting her own fashion standards: “People are going to have opinions, and they have a right to, when you’re the First Lady especially. You’re representing the nation. But I’ve tried to be at peace with the choices I make first.”
