Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of TLC's 19 Kids & Counting fame have been married 30 years, with 19 children and three grandchildren to show for it.

Almost as incredible as their offspring total? On their 30th anniversary, the Arkansas couple seems as happy and in love as the day they got married.

July 21 marked the couple’s 30th anniversary, which they celebrated with a "special lunch," and prompted Michelle to blog about their humble beginnings.

Say yes to sex, even when you're tired!

Michelle recalls how she personally baked their wedding cake, wore Jim Bob’s mom’s wedding dress and honeymooned in their native Arkansas.

“My wedding to Jim Bob almost 30 years ago was sweet and simple," she writes. "I wanted to do as much as I could myself as a way to save money."

“For the wedding cake, I made it myself and froze it. A friend decorated it for me using icing that she made with ingredients I bought for her."

"Another special touch was wearing Jim Bob’s mother’s wedding dress as my dress. Everything [at] our wedding was so inexpensive, but perfect."

Mother of 19 Michelle Duggar is speaking out on the engagement of daughter Jill Duggar to Derick Dillard, as seen on TLC's 19 Kids & Counting.

Speaking out, even as the life-changing event left her at a loss for words.

As it was happening, she writes, "Jim Bob and I are saying to ourselves, "Oh, wow!" We're realizing our girl is going to start a home and her own family."

"That's a big deal, especially for dad."

"[Jim Bob] is so happy for Jill and he really appreciates Derick and who he is. We know Derick is going to make a great husband and, hopefully, father."

Derick Dillard abided by the Duggar family dating rules (or "courting" as they call it) and asked for permission to propose to Jill from Jim Bob Duggar.

Having pushed the envelope with a full-frontal hug at the airport, he even asked Jim Bob if it was okay if he held hands with Jill Duggar post-engagement.

In a new clip from 19 Kids and Counting, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar sit down with an OB-GYN to discuss the risks of adding to their already massive family.

As she's stated before, Michelle Duggar hopes to have a twentieth child before she turns 50, but as Dr. Paul Wendell tells the couple during their appointment, there are some serious risks involved.

First, the doctor informs the Duggars that they'll likely experience some difficulty with conception.

"We do occasionally see pregnancies in women who are 47, 48, 49, even 50 but they are very unusual," says Dr. Wendell.

"Your chance of getting pregnant when egg and sperm meet naturally begins to drop...Around mid-40s, certainly at the age we're at, it's around 5 percent."

The outlook gets more grim as the doctor informs the Duggars of the risks they face if they do manage to conceive:

Michelle Duggar is hoping to have her twentieth child soon, and since there's no way they could've known ten or twelve kids ago that they would be the stars of a successful reality show, one can't help but wonder why exactly she and husband Jim Bob would want to raise such a giant family.

The Duggars were asked that question point blank in a recent interview and their answer may surprise you:

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are still working on that 20th kid.

"When we first got married, we thought we would have maybe two or three children," the Duggars wrote in a response. "Michelle started off our marriage taking the birth control pill so that we could plan when we wanted children."

"After three years Michelle went off the pill and we had our son Josh...We didn't think we were ready for more children yet, so Michelle went back on birth control pills."

Then, as the Duggars say "the unexpected happened, followed by the unthinkable."

Michelle Duggar may be in her late 40s and already raising an astonishing 19 children, but her long-rumored quest to make it an even 20 marches on!

The original rumor was that the stars of 19 Kids and Counting planned to adopt Duggar #20, but according to a new episode of her long-running TLC reality series, matriarch Michelle plans to get pregnant for the twentieth freaking time!

It's been nearly five years since Michelle gave birth to her youngest daughter Josie and she started crankin' 'em out with husband Jim Bob so long ago that the fourth Duggar child recently got engaged, and the eldest has three kids of his own.

Even so, Michelle insists that she and her husband would "welcome another baby if God offered to give us one," adding, "At the same time we're enjoying the ones that we do have and loving our grandbabies."

Despite major health complications in recent years, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are still trying for their 20th child together, a new report indicates.

Michelle confirmed that the TLC couple, who viewers saw celebrate their 29th wedding anniversary on last night's 19 Kids and Counting, is TTC.

As in trying to conceive.

While hoping that they'll be blessed with another pregnancy, they're simply "enjoying their grandbabies" and are "thankful and grateful" for their other 19 kids.

Michelle Duggar, for the record, is 47 and has been married to Jim Bob for 29 years, meaning she's pretty much been pregnant for their whole relationship. (And she also makes a mean Duggars tater tot casserole recipe!)

Michelle Duggar weighed in on the Texas legislature’s debate on a law that seek to restrict abortion in the state, calling the procedure a “baby holocaust.”

The conservative Christian star of the hit TLC show 19 Kids and Counting told a pro-life crowd in Austin that she is against abortion, to put it mildly.

Flanked by son Josh Duggar of the Family Research Council, she likened abortion to Hitler’s attempted eradication of the Jews in World War II.

"Baby holocaust" or not, the issue is being more hotly debated than ever thanks to a controversial Texas abortion bill that would severely limit its practice.
