Olympic swimming god Michael Phelps has quietly dated a Canadian woman by the name of Ashley Finestone for more than two years, reports say.

The 26-year-old has been exchanging calls, texts and visits with the Montreal native, who he spent time with just this past weekend, in fact.

"Michael was in Montreal last weekend to compete in the Canada Cup and I saw him walking hand-in-hand with Ashley," a source told Radar.

Finestone, a McGill University graduate, was good luck for Phelps, who brought home gold in the 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly.

"Their relationship started a little over two years ago when they met staying at the same hotel in South Beach over New Years," the insider said.

Fortunately for Michael, and somewhat sadly for celebrity gossip sites:

"Ashley has always been concerned with showing Michael that she would keep their relationship on the down-low and private first and foremost."

Michael has also been linked to Brittny Gastineau and Carrie Prejean of all people in recent years, along with that Caroline "Caz" Pal girl.

According to a new report, Brittny Gastineau is missing more than just a letter in her first name. She's also missing her period.

The former reality star, who is somehow dating Olympic champion Michael Phelps, is a few days late, sources tell Radar Online.

"She is heading back to LA now," a menstrual cycle insider says. "She is so late and very worried. She has an appointment with the ob-gyn on Wednesday in Beverly Hills."

Further proof that Gastineau might be knocked up: she was spotted buying a pregnancy test in New York over the weekend, and those that hung out with her on Saturday night say Brittny was drinking soda all night.

It sounds to us like someone should have spent less time practicing the Butterfly and more time practicing safe sex!

The Olympic legend was spotted out with socialite Brittny Gastineau over the weekend, as TMZ says its cameras caught the swimmer walking hand-in-hand with the daughter of former New York Jets star Mark Gastineau at the Grove in Los Angeles.

This isn't the first time Phelps has shown questionable taste in the opposite sex. He was once rumored to be dating Carrie Prejean. We agree: he's upgraded!

The 2009 ESPY Awards, which air this Sunday night but were taped earlier this week, honor the best in sports, beauty and, apparently, gigantic breasts.

The event was hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, who always brings another element any place he goes: total and utter coolness.

At the opening of a clothing store in New York City this week, the Olympic champion was asked about rumors that he and the Miss USA runner-up are an item.

"I'm not dating anybody," he told Us Weekly. "I'm single. My private life stays private."

His pot-smoking life, however, is available for anyone to see!

Michael Phelps says he is not dating Carrie Prejean. Having sex with her whenever he's in California, though? No comment!

Regarding Prejean's anti-gay marriage response during last weekend's beauty pageant, Phelps remained neutral.

"That's the cool thing about America: everybody has their opinion... I'm not saying I support her. I'm not saying I don't support her."

Carrie Prejean is truly about to become a celebrity gossip favorite now.

A relative has confirmed that the controversial Miss California has been dating Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, off and on, for the last few weeks.

Rumors began to swirl during an interview Prejean gave to Access Hollywood last week. Asked about her relationship with Phelps, Carrie told Billy Bush: “He is a great man. Wouldn't you like to know, Billy? We can talk about that a different day.”

Hmmm, what happened to the honest and forthright Miss California?

Fortunately, Prejean's grandma, Jeannette Coppolla, has opened up to Radar Online about the relationship.

"Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch. He always calls her when he is in town and they go out.... Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls [such as Caroline Pal], but she enjoys going out with him and isn't serious about being in a relationship with him. He's a nice guy and she likes him."

In other words: Carrie Prejean is Michael Phelps' booty call when he's in town.

Michael Phelps has admitted that he messed up by smoking pot.

Perhaps the country can move on from this national nightmare now.

"I knew that I'd made a mistake and a bad judgment," the 14-time gold medalist told Matt Lauer in an interview that will air on Sunday's Dateline. "It was an awful judgment. The people I hurt, you know, is my family, clearly. My friends. The close people around me. And most importantly, the fans."

As for the incident itself, Phelps said he wasn't exactly re-enacting Animal House.

"I mean, we were just celebrating. It was a very small group... nothing major. You know, not like a giant college house party. It was nothing like that. It was just a small group and we were just sitting around and celebrating."

Phelps has lost the respect of some fans, along with the endorsement of Kellogg.
