Officers from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department arrived at Lindsay Lohan's apartment this afternoon to check on her little sister Ali Lohan's welfare.

Accompanying the deputies? Their father, Michael Lohan!

M-Lo went to the Sheriff's Department and said 16-year-old Ali Lohan was staying with Lindsay and that being said, he was concerned for her safety.

He convinced deputies to make a "welfare check" on Ali. Lindsay Tweeted that she's pissed at building management for letting cops and Michael in.

Sources say Ali was in the apartment and deputies spoke with her before leaving and allowing the teen to remain with her older train wreck sister.

Not to be deterred, Michael is now going to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, per advice from the Sheriff's Department.

Michael made a "compelling case" to Sheriff's deputies, saying Ali was in Lindsay's car on the way back from Coachella and the car was going over 100 mph.

Not everyone is moved by his efforts, however. The girls' mom and Lindsay's chief enabler, Dina, wants Lindsay to get a restraining order against Michael. 

With the legitimacy of the Sheriff's Dept. backing him this time, it's unlikely it would stick. Still, Dina Lohan vows that "My ex could be in big trouble. He's dangerous."

"If he can't get to them he is going to try to hurt them. It's not good."

Speaking with celeb gossip outlet TMZ after the incident, Michael steadfastly vowed to stay the course until Lindsay checks into rehab for substance abuse.

Michael says he will not leave L.A. "until Ali is removed from Lindsay's home and has a normal life of a 16-year-old. Anywhere Lindsay goes, I'm bringing cops."

The plot thickens! Should Linds heed her concerned dad's warnings and get help, or should that jerk just butt out? Whose side are you on?

Michael Lohan and Kate Major not only got engaged, they're wasting no time trying for a kid. Mike says they "practice at least four times a night" in fact.

As if the mere engagement weren't gross enough to his last family.

"Kate wants a baby. Since I'm getting no younger, we practice at least four times a night," he tells TV Guide about his fiancée, but with one minor caveat:

"We agreed that if she does get pregnant, one is enough."

Probably for the best, given how the last batch turned out.

Michael Lohan, who turns 50 this month, has four children with ex-wife Dina, including helpless, broke train wreck Lindsay Lohan and JV version Ali Lohan.

That's how many times we tried to conceive by noon!

Kate Major, who at 27 is just a few years older than Lindsay, had a short relationship with Michael Lohan’s friend, Jon Gosselin. Hey, anything's a step up.

The two got engaged Easter weekend after dating about half a year. A place and date have not been set, but they're looking at December on Long Island.

Two people Mike probably won't see there? His previous wife and his eldest daughter. “It’s certainly a marriage made in tabloid heaven,” Dina Lohan said.

“Kate dated Hailey Glassman’s ex, then is best friends with Michael’s ex [Erin Muller], now she’s engaged to Michael. It all sounds a bit incestuous to me.”

“Where he’s finding money for weddings, engagement rings, I don’t know. He’s nine months behind on child support... pay for the kids you already have.”

Lindsay Lohan was more succinct, though no less repulsed by the news.

"I'm gonna vomit!" she told Us. "I so didn't need that info... yuck!"

Michael Lohan and Kate Major, the former Star magazine reporter who made headlines last summer for quitting her job to date Jon Gosselin, are engaged!

No date has been set, but Kate 2.0 said, "I've already talked to some bridesmaids, and it will probably be in New York ... probably at the end of this year."

She brought Mike to meet her dad in Florida last weekend to get his approval.

Somehow he got it?!

"I'm very traditional," Kate Major says. "Michael went down with me for Easter, to meet my father to ask his permission, and my father gave his blessing."

Lindsay, meet your new stepmom. She's just four years old than you!

Already wearing an engagement ring, says of her man, "I'm ecstatic. I'm very happy. Michael and I have known each other for four years, and it's meant to be."

Michael Lohan echoed his future bride's sentiments: "I'm ecstatic. I have never met anyone who's been there for me like Kate. She's always been there for me."

"The one thing about Kate is that she doesn't come with baggage."

Well, sans the Jon Gosselin thing, but compared to that guy, Michael Lohan may actually look like a prize catch. He's only a terrible dad to four kids, not eight!

But seriously, we're happy for the couple and wish them the best. We still expect another unwarranted, pissed-off rant from Mike, but we wish them the best.

It's been one heck of a week for troubled star Lindsay Lohan, even by her standards. Two months behind on rent, her landlord sent a legal notice to pay or get out.

Lindsay paid $23,000 and avoided eviction ... this time.

The one-time actress isn't pulling in any income and her prospects for work are near non-existent because of substance abuse woes, according to inside sources.

We've told you how people close to her fear for her life. Well, there is a strong feeling - even resignation - that Lindsay Lohan will die soon if she doesn't get help.

There is deep frustration among many that her mom, Dina, enables her by insisting Lindsay is fine. As for her other parent? Well, that dude defies description.

Michael Lohan, who has gone on a crusade against Linds' supposed enablers (and this website in his free time), is none too pleased with her recent allegations.

Yesterday, she Tweeted abuse accusations once again. His reply?

"There was no physical abuse," he said. "When there's yelling, I tried to shelter my kids from arguments my wife and I had. Dina unfortunately got the kids involved in the things we did, the arguments we had, and still does. She uses my kids as pawns."

If Michael Lohan weren't preoccupied with emailing The Hollywood Gossip at all hours of the night, he might try reaching out to his estranged daughter instead.

Clearly he has his work cut out repairing that relationship.

Thursday, Lindsay Lohan lashed out at her dad, alleging once again that he abused her when she was a kid. Specifically, the troubled star alleged that he "verbally/literally HURT my mother, brothers, sister Aliana ... why, i ask u?"

A few hours later, the actress removed the post. Still, we were able to snag a similar screen shot from her account before it was taken down by Lindsay:

She also wrote yet didn't elaborateon this: "My father just sent me this as I was leaving my gym 'I told you to stop Linds this is the last time... and take down the tweet about me HURTING MOM... U will be getting a call from SOMEBODY today to end you.'"

LOL. This guy and his cyber threats. We can relate, Linds.

Michael Lohan told celebrity photo agency X17 that she likely posted the abuse claim to retaliate against him for his recent attempts to get her to go back to rehab. He held a live press conference to urge her to do so this week.

"What Lindsay is saying on Twitter is nothing more than nonsense," he says. "As far as the ex father comment, maybe she's divorcing me today, but she will remarry me once she gets her life back ... she's really crying out for help."

"Obviously she realizes that I'm serious about getting her into rehab," he adds. "She's beginning to panic because I have been contacting people around her, as well as attorneys of my own, to take measures to get her the help she needs."

We agree with Michael that Lindsay should probably go to rehab, or at least see a therapist ... but these Lohans have really got to learn better communication.

Michael Lohan does not like celebrity gossip.

Specifically, he does not like THG's coverage of his antics, or those of his troubled daughter Lindsay, who he recently reached out to via live press conference.

What did The Hollywood Gossip do to enrage Lindsay's ex-con dad? Simply report on Michael's press conference ... which he clearly sought attention with.

If Michael's goal is convincing Lindsay to check into rehab, we wholeheartedly support him. Girl needs help, and any means of her getting it are justified.

If anything, our coverage helps Michael help Lindsay Lohan.

Mike's trying to help Linds ... by tearing us a new one?

Just the same, M-Lo (or someone claiming to be him) fired off a pissed-off rant to THG, telling us to back off, disparaging our collective manhood, and encouraging us to locate the nearest electrical socket, among other things.

Pretty rude individual.

A bit of a loose cannon, he included his address and phone number, which we have omitted from this follow-up article, but they appear to be legitimate.

Lindsay Lohan needs help. Michael Lohan is not wrong there.

His motives, however? Highly suspect. Mike decided the best way to reach out to her was to address the public ... in a live press conference. Only Michael Lohan.

Dressed in a suit in his attorney’s NYC office, Lohan blamed the people in Lindsay’s inner circle for enabling her partying and alleged prescription drug addiction.

He fears Lindsay Lohan is going to die unless she gets help, and immediately.

“The people around her know Lindsay is not okay,” Michael said. “I get calls from her closest friends when they’re out with her during the night. I don’t want her to be a statistic. The press is already writing obits for her. How sick is that?”

Pretty sick, dude. As is your conduct.

He begged not to be judged for reaching out this way. Too late. “Extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary measures,” Michael Lohan claims.

“I’ve tried every way possible to reach out to my daughter. I have called, texted ... in difficult times she reaches out to me for help. Last week she called me when she fell into the cactus. She said ‘Daddy, I need security.’ This is not about publicity."

That may be the quote of the year so far.

Michael says he plans to return to Los Angeles to sit down with Lindsay and convince her to go to rehab. For now, he has a message for you sponges:

“If you’re an enabler, get the hell out of the way,” he said. “If Lindsay won’t sit down privately, my attorneys and I will take other measures. I just hope Lindsay is accommodating. Lindsay needs a private setting where she can detox."

The nonsensical one added: "I’m sick and tired of the nonsense.”

Michael Lohan was scheduled to have a heart procedure yesterday after having a heart attack. But hope was not lost. His his spirits were lifted by a text of support.

That text was sent from none other than Lindsay Lohan.

M-Lo was rushed to the hospital in New York last week with what is believed to have been a mild heart attack, and underwent an angioplasty procedure Wednesday.

Who knew he even had a heart? Sorry. Stents were also being placed as surgeons try to unblock his coronary arteries (similar to the surgery Bill Clinton had done).

Speaking from his hospital bed with Radar Online (don't we all), Lohan said: “The surgeons are hoping this will work but if it does not I may have to get a bypass."

We sort of wish he had bypassed this news story right now.

Is Michael Lohan cooking up tall tales about a text from Lindsay? If she did send one, this photo of her may be more along the lines of the message she conveyed.

While blaming his previous career as a stock broker for the stress, as well as the recent court drama with ex-fiancee Erin Muller, he did have some positive news.

“I got a text message from Lindsay which read: ‘OMG. Hope you are okay’ and my other kids have all been in contact with me too," says the Father of the Decade.

“My girlfriend, Kate Major, slept here with me overnight and my spirits have been definitely lifted by the overwhelming support from both my family and friends."

"I’ve been through a lot in my life, been to jail, court cases, even drove my Ferrari over a cliff once, so, it’s going to take a lot more than this to finish me off!"

Sure thing, Mike. You just let Radar know how it goes, okay?

Perennial Father of the Year candidate Michael Lohan was taken to a Massachusetts hospital after a medical scare last night, but he was later released.

The reason for his trip there is somewhat unclear.

Lohan experienced chest pains s he was preparing for a celebrity boxing match. He was examined by doctors, but didn't stay the night and was let go.

His girlfriend, Kate Major (yup, former Jon Gosselin play thing) says wants to be checked out by a cardiologist later this week back home in New York.

Who knew Michael Lohan even HAD a heart? Snap! Sorry, that was low.

Major says the father of Lindsay Lohan has been very conscious of his health, watching what he eats and exercising, but has had heart attacks before.

In all seriousness, we hope he recovers fully and swiftly.

As a result of the incident, Lohan was replaced in his celebrity boxing bout last night, and the replacement won against Todd Poulton, whoever that is.

Just when you thought you'd heard everything, Michael Lohan and girlfriend Kate Major are moving from New York to Los Angeles together. There's more too:

• Kate Major and Michael Lohan are taking a bus to L.A.
• They're filming a reality show to document the journey!

Lohan says he is hoping to get some of his "celebrity" pals to join him and participate in different charity fundraisers (i.e. PR opportunities) along the way.

M-Lo explains: “We’re calling the show Crossing Borders because not only will we be crossing physical borders state to state, but moral borders as well." 

Deep.

Two people who definitely need their own show.

"While each celebrity offers something different, each city will bring something new and different. Each celebrity sees him/herself as a good person. Viewers will see that we all try our best, but sometimes cross the borders of right and wrong."

This guy ought to teach philosophy.

• Lindsay Lohan will file the paperwork seeking a preemptive restraining order in anticipation of her deadbeat dad moving to the same city.
• Kate Major will discuss Jon Gosselin's penis size.
