Michael J. Fox is a wonderful actor and person. He's gone from starring on Family Ties to being a role model to all. We wish him the best...

When we think of our neighbors to the North, we mostly think of beer, maple syrup, hockey, and more beer.

But Canada's contributions to the world of entertainment can't be ignored.

Justin Bieber
Bieber was born in London, Ontario. Many Americans wish he'd stayed there.

From truly talented comics like Seth Rogen and Jim Carrey to barely-tolerated hosers like Justin Bieber and...well, that's about it, Canada may not have any stars on its flag, but its got plenty among its people.

Some entries on this list may shock you (Quintessential California beach babe Pamela Anderson is a Canuck?!), while others make perfect sense. (Anyone as polite as Michael Cera must be Canadian!)

So while it may be cold, Canada has produced some stars that are truly hot - former couple Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are both from London Ontario - so check out the gallery above to see what stars pay for their Tim Horton's with toonies, eh?

Want to know one of the secrets of Hollywood magic? Making surprisingly short stars look super tall through a little camera trick known as perspective.

Super short celebrities have nothing to fear when it's time to make a movie. If a guy is shorter than his leading lady, directors will fix that right up!

Bam! Audiences will never know he's actually 5" shorter than his costar! That is, until the press tour. Those images can't be faked quite as easily.

Some stars, especially those of the male persuasion with easily bruised egos, demand that co-stars and/or wives don't wear heels on the red carpet. (coughTomCruisecough!!)

Others, however, own their short stature and make it part of their shtick. For the ladies of Hollywood, it might mean never being a supermodel, but doesn't typically affect their star power.

It does, however, make for comically hilarious photos when they stand next to really tall celebrities like Joel McHale. Check out this list of 25 super short celebs to see!

Anna Kendrick
Don't underestimate Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick because she's only 5' tall!

A sewage pipe broke prior to the 71st annual Golden Globes last night, flooding the red carpet.

But you know what really stunk at the event? E!'s ridiculous pre-show coverage... and we're not talking about the Mani Cam for a change.

Running through various Fun Facts about nominees throughout the evening, the network honed in on Best Comedy Actor nominee Michael J. Fox and actually wrote:

Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1991.

Fun Fact!

Following some understandable backlash from viewers, producers issued an apology via a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

“We regret the insensitive classification of Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s diagnosis during our live stream. We understand the serious nature of the disease and sincerely apologize.”

Hey, Fun Fact: E! is the home of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. It has a lot more to apologize for than this.

Hollywood's most random feud has come to an end.

A few days after telling Vulture he'd rather his son never date Taylor Swift - before sarcastically praising the singer's method of writing hit songs about ex-boyfriends - Michael J. Fox has reached out to the artist.

Taylor Swift at the Globes

"Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good," Swift Tweeted last night. "Thank you for having my back."

That was all Taylor had to say on the subject, which is just the latest setback in what has been a rough start for her in 2013.

Already in the new year, Swift has been referred to as too prude for Harry Styles, and possibly gotten rejected by Bradley Cooper.

But, hey, it can only get better from here!

At this year's Golden Globes, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler jokingly told Taylor Swift not to date Michael J. Fox's young son.

But when asked later by Vulture for his thought on the singer actually getting with his 23-year old son, the iconic sitcom star didn't seem to be in a laughing mood.

"I don't keep up with it all," Fox said when asked about the star's love life. "But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right?"

Yes, she does, Michael.

"What a way to build a career," the actor replied.

OUCH!

Swift, of course, has built an impressive career with that strategy. But is finally catching up with her personally? Following a split with Harry Styles, sources claimed this week that Bradley Cooper rejected Taylor's request to hang out.

Fourth, schmorth.

With America's Independence Day coming up on Wednesday, it would be easily to overlook Canada Day today ... but that would just be a travesty.

Some of Hollywood's hottest stars, young and old, hail from north of the border - some of whom you might not even realize were Canadian!

On July 1, Canada's holiday commemorating the anniversary of becoming a united country, here's a gallery of some of the most noteworthy ...

Pretty impressive gallery by any measure, but even more so when you consider that a mere 34 million people - fewer than California - live in Canada!

Who's your favorite Canadian celebrity? Vote in the poll below, and leave a comment with any of your favorites we left off - there are plenty more!

Michael J. Fox took the stage at his own charity event this weekend at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria and played guitar on the Chuck Berry classic, "Johnny B. Goode."

Yup, just like he did in Back to the Future - vintage red guitar and all!

The 50-year-old actor, who became a megastar as Marty McFly in the classic '80s film and its trilogy, has since become the face of Parkinson's Disease research.

Make no mistake, Marty was in the house Saturday night.

Watch what might be the coolest video ever below ... and hang in there because after the first minute or so, the video and sound become much crisper ...

Hey Chuck ... Chuck! It's Marvin! Your cousin, Marvin Berry? You know that new sound you're lookin' for? Well listen to THIS!

Michael J. Fox raised more than $5 million for his Foundation for Parkinson's Research at a Beatles-themed fundraiser in Manhattan on Saturday night.

Joining the former Family Ties star were emcee Denis Leary, Sheryl Crow, Martin Scorsese, Muhammad Ali, Famke Janssen, Rob Thomas and Susan Sarandon.

The surprise guest of the night, however, was Axl Rose. He took the stage at the Waldorf-Astoria Ballroom to sing Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die." How come the ex frontman for Guns 'n Roses was there?

"Michael had asked," Rose told People magazine. "We actually used a sample of Michael J. Fox from (his film) Casualties of War in one of our songs that will be on the new album. So I felt, one, I've always been a fan of his. And I also feel for the guy and his situation. I'm for stem-cell research, so I just thought it would be wrong not for me to come when I was asked."

Elvis Costello attended with wife Diana Krall, who's due to give birth in December. "But it's twins," said Krall, "so maybe sooner!"

That makes no sense, Diana. Talk to Diddy about haivng twins, ok?

Fox's wife, Tracy Pollan, said the annual fundraiser got a shot in the arm from last week's wins by Democrats, along with candidates favoring stem-cell research:

"It definitely has an extra little feeling of excitement. But this is always a really important night, and a really fun night for us."

Crow, who sang the Beatles' "Blackbird" and "Eight Days a Week," told People: "I'm really here to celebrate what Michael J. Fox is doing and what he's done so far, and the great hope he's giving everyone."

On a personal note, Crow figured it was a great time to mention: "I'm dating."

But she didn't say who the unlucky man to follow in the footsteps of Lance Armstrong happened to be.
