M.I.A. recently made headlines for flipping her middle finger at the Super Bowl.

Now she's pointing the finger at CNN anchor Anderson Cooper of all people.

Why, you ask? The apparent lack of news coverage about an issue close to her heart - the slaughter of Tamil civilians in her native Sri Lanka - led to a heated exchange with Cooper and allegations that he branded her a "terrorist."

Disappointed in AC's perceived failure to report the atrocities, M.I.A. lashed out.

"@AndersonCooper called me a terrorist for speaking out, and expressed support for the SLgov," she wrote, adding that "respected journos" don't "get it wrong."

That statement prompted a sharp rejoinder from Cooper:

"What are you talking about?... you are mistaken. I never called you a terrorist. I don't even know who you are other than the lady who sang at superbowl."

Add Madonna to the list of those who thought M.I.A.'s actions during halftime of Super Bowl XVLI were stupid and childish.

A few days after she anchored a mostly positively-reviewed show, The Material Girl called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest and reacted to M.I.A's action as follows:

"I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it.

"I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager... irrelevant thing to do.. here was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point?"

M.I.A. Gives the Finger

In a separate interview, Madonna later told Carson Daly that M.I.A. did call her to apologize, but the iconic artist concluded of the action:

"It was just out of place."

Rapper M.I.A.'s new baby's birth certificate has been revealed, and, as she disputed on her blog, the baby's name is not Ickitt. That's just ridiculous, yo.

Who in their right mind would name their baby that? People need to get their facts straight before making up such nonsense about celebs on gossip sites.

The real name: Ikhyd, obviously. We should've known.

According to the document, M.I.A., a.k.a. Mathangi Maya Arulpragasam, gave her son the official name of Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman. Common spelling.

Also, the baby faced M.I.A's birth date is listed as July 18, 1975, which makes her 33. Her official bio lists her DOB as July 17, 1977. That's just weird.

Then again, it's no Bronx Mowgli.
