For Halloween, Matt Lauer dressed as Pamela Anderson.

This morning, conversely, The Today Show host went from pretending to be a woman to extolling the virtues of something very important for men: Regular prostate exams.

In order to raise awareness of prostate cancer and how simple it can be to check for, Lauer and Al Roker actually underwent a digital test on air.

No, the very personal aspects of this examination were not filmed. But a physician was featured speaking to the reporters after each went behind a closed door for his quick test and important information was passed along. Watch now:

As entertaining as it is when Roker films a selfie at a Drake concert, this segment was especially helpful and, hopefully, educational to many.

Well done, Today.

Matt Lauer may have signed an 11-figure deal to remain lead anchor on The Today Show earlier this summer, but it's been anything but smooth sailing for the reporter since.

Many blame Lauer for the Ann Curry mess. The program is now regular destroyed by Good Morning America in the ratings. Al Roker appears to be poking fun at his coworkers on a regular basis.

And, yesterday, Today chose to air an interview with Kris Jenner instead of observing a 9/11-based moment of silence.

Where is Lauer's head these days as a result of such developments?

He tells TMZ that there's no beef with Roker and, sure, there's pressure for the show to succeed. But no more than usual

"We feel the heat every day," Lauer says. "But we have for the last 20 years that I've been there. We're just trying to do the best show we can do every single day ... and I think we're doing a good job right now ... and I think the cycle will reverse."

Are you still watching The Today Show?

What the heck is going on at The Today Show?

A couple days after Al Roker clearly took a shot at Matt Lauer for how he handled the firing of Ann Curry (despite NBC's denial), the beloved weatherman once again took it upon himself to make a few headlines during a segment.

This time, while Lauer and Savannah Guthrie slow-danced and then talked about the 35-year anniversary of Elvis Presley dying, Roker made a silly face and simply stared into the camera... and stared... and stared... and stared.

Perhaps producers think the program can top Good Morning America in the ratings game by challenging its viewers to a staring contest once per week. Watch the shenanigans unfold now:

Matt Lauer, you've been served. By your very own co-worker.

During a segment on The Today Show this morning, Lauer, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie were interviewing a few Olympic rowers when the topic turned to the latter's post-race traditions, which include tossing teammates into the water. Joked the host:

"The tradition here in New York is you throw her in the Hudson River."

Roker then jumped in with: "Which is different than OUR tradition ... which is you throw one of us under the bus, but that’s another story."

The anchors laughed, but everyone must have been aware of Roker's reference: Lauer is considered the main reason why Ann Curry was unceremoniously fired from her Today Show post earlier this summer.

Oh, to have been a fly on the set wall when the show went to commercial.

Bryant Gumbel and Al Roker – friends and Today colleagues of Matt Lauer – say the TV anchor and his wife Annette Roque seem fine ... and to back off!

Echoing the couple's own angry denials of a breakup, Gumbel said: "Nobody likes being under a microscope, even in the best of times. It's not pleasant."

"I think they're doing fine. They just stay away from the glare."

Gumbel's wife Hilary also spoke in support of the Lauers: "They've made their rebuttal [to the accusations] ... They've done what they needed to do."

Lauer was said to be having an affair, and Alexis Houston (alleged sister of Whitney) was alleged to be the other woman involved in the scandal.

Today weatherman Al Roker says he doesn't believe rumors.

Matt, Annette Lauer

Matt and Annette Lauer have denied cheating allegations.

"All I know is that he's great," Roker said. "I've seen him. They're fine. It's more about things on the outside. Everything on the inside is fine."

Matt Lauer and his wife, married since 1998, blasted a report alleging that Lauer had moved out of the family's apartment amid reports of infidelity.

According to the report, the sexy beast was also looking for his own bachelor pad. He told People last week that the story was "a work of fiction."

While acknowledging vaguely the imperfections in his marriage, Lauer denied the details of the report and says everything is fine with Annette.

We hope so. The couple has three kids under the age of 10.
