Matt Bomer is set to get naked again.

The White Collar star stopped by Ellen today and touched on the Magic Mike sequel, which Channing Tatum has confirmed and which stars shooting in the near future.

What can Bomer reveal about the follow-up film?

"I think Channing announced recently that it's kind of a road trip film that leads to a stripper convention, which exists," Bomer said, laughing. "It's a real life thing, and only the best of the best make it.

"It's a strip-off to the death...I can imagine if you lock those doors, things get a little rowdy!"

At that, as you might imagine, the crowd went a little nuts.

Actor Matt Bomer came out as gay in February of 2012 and in his announcement, he expressed his gratitude to his boyfriend, Simon Halls.

Very few were surprised by Bomer's coming out as he made little effort to hide his relationship with Halls. The revelation Bomer made today, however, was quite unexpected:

Turns out Matt and Simon have been married for three years!

Bomer dropped that bombshell in an interview with Details magazine to promote his upcoming film The Normal Heart.

No word yet on why Bomer downgraded his relationship status when he first came out while giving a speech at a charity event, but we're guessing that it made for an awkward ride home.

True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard is apparently one of the actors strongly the running to replace Charlie Hunnam in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

Skarsgard

The 37-year-old Swede is under consideration to play Christian Grey, alongside other names featured on Universal's initial list, according to reports.

The original pool of would-be Greys included the likes of Underworld: Awakening's Theo James and the star of Cemetery Junction, Christian Cooke.

A few other names producers are talking to include Divergent's Theo James, Magic City’s Christian Cooke and Jamie Dornan of Once Upon a Time.

Fan favorite Matt Bomer is currently tipped by the oddsmakers to play the lead role at 7:1, with Skarsgard and Ian Somerhalder close behind at 8:1.

Fifty Shades of Grey fans' petition to replace Charlie Hunnam with Matt Bomer as lead character Christian Grey is flattering, the latter said in an interview.

"I'm so grateful for all the fans and touched," he tells Entertainment Tonight, however, "I'm looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota."

Fans didn't exactly scream in ecstasy when they learned Hunnam and Dakota Johnson were cast in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Some took action.

A Change (dot) org petition begged producers to cast Bomer as kinky-yet-sensitive billionaire Christian and Alexis Bledel as his willing sex toy Anastasia Steele.

Bomer politely declined to take up the cause, but the White Collar star did say he's excited to explore the bad boy side of his TV character more this year.

Add Matt Bomer to the list of stars who have shown public support for Wentworth Miller.

The White Collar star, who came out as gay in a speech last February, was asked about the Prison Break actor's public reveal this week and told E! News:

"I think its really bold and incredibly classy how he came out and did it. I am really proud of him. It's very reflective of his amazing character."

Miller took an unusual and impressive tact in making his announcement a couple days ago, posting the letter he sent to the head of a Russian film festival on the GLADD website and openly decrying that nation's new, anti-homosexual legislation.

He, of course, also mentioned in the missive that he's a gay man.

People's dreams of seeing Matt Bomer in Fifty Shades of Grey may still be realized, but this EW cover making the online rounds is nothing but a fake.

A pretty convincing, seductive fake!

The image, showing the White Collar star's blue eyes and flawless face, was leaked to the web with the headline "Fifty Shades of Grey: The Wait is Over" ...

Matt Bomer as Christian Grey

"Matt Bomer talks about changing the white collar for a grey tie," the fan-made cover continues, implying that Bomer locked down the role of Christian Grey.

Casting for the movie role of the mysterious billionaire with an affinity for bondage / S&M has become a spectator sport for fans of E.L. James' bestseller.

Filmmakers confirm that Bomer's casting is just wishful thinking, though.

Dana Brunetti, one of the co-producers of the big screen adaptation, said on Twitter: "All of the rumors on #FiftyShades are just that - rumors. No one has been cast in any role."

"We have to get a writer and director first."

Bomer has been a fan favorite for Grey for a while now, but Bret Easton Ellis (who made no secret of wanting to adapt the saga before being dropped from consideration), said the notion of casting openly gay Bomer is ludicrous.

You tell us: Would Matt Bomer be a good Christian Grey?

by Free Britney at . Comments

Bret Easton Ellis may be no longer under consideration to write the Fifty Shades of Grey screenplay, but he's still making his opinions about it known.

Namely, he says it would be "ludicrous" to cast a gay actor - specifically Matt Bomer - as Christian Grey in the film because of his sexuality.

The openly gay Bomer (White Collar, Magic Mike) is considered by some people to be a perfect Christian based on his looks and acting ability.

It's to say Ellis, 48, who raised eyebrows last year by calling Glee a puddle of HIV, is not one of those people angling for Matt to be cast.

Ellis insists he is not discriminating on grounds of sexual orientation, but unabashedly believes Bomer is a bad choice. He wrote on Twitter.

"Okay. Let's finalise this ... Matt Bomer is totally hot and a very good actor. He is NOT right for Christian Grey and it complicates the role."

"I don't care how good an actor you are but being married to another man complicates things for playing CG."

"This is NOT about discrimination. It's about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele."

"Fifty Shades of Grey: the most popular book on the planet having Matt Bomer - a gay actor - play Christian Grey is absolutely ludicrous. Why?"

"Okay I'll say it. Matt Bomer isn't right for Christian Grey because he is openly gay. He's great for other roles but this is too big a game."

"And I think if Matt Bomer wants the role which I doubt the international press tour will be an embarrassing fiasco. He's not CG. Never."

"I am NOT discriminating Matt Bomer because of his sexuality. Fifty Shades of Grey demands an actor that is genuinely into women. Get it?!?"

"I actually think it's cool that women want Matt Bomer as Christian Grey. It means that we've moved beyond stereotypes and that gay is hot."

"I think Matt Bomer is incredibly handsome and a good actor but I think he comes off totally gay in White Collar. And that is why no to CG."

NOTE: The role has not been cast, but Bomer (like the Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder) is frequently discussed as a possible casting choice.

It's unclear if enough readers even know who he is, or care that he's gay, to influence their perception of his character and on-screen chemistry.

As a professional actor he could probably sell it, but opinions will likely vary on how well. As for why Ellis is ranting about it ... who knows.

What do you think of Ellis' comments? And do you think Bomer would make a good CG? Sound off in the comments - and in the poll - below:
