A slightly nutty two-time contestant and one-time winner of The Bachelor was charged with DUI this morning in Tampa, Fla. Good ol' Mary Delgado.

Mary, whose real name is Maribel Delgado, won the sixth season of the reality show and once beat up Byron Velvick, whose final rose she accepted.

Delgado, a former cheerleader with the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, faces a charge of misdemeanor DUI after refusing a blood alcohol test.

She was later released on $500 bail.

Mary Delgado's mug shot: 2010 edition!

This isn't Delgado's first run-in with the law. She was arrested in 2007 in Seminole, Fla., on battery charges for allegedly punching Velvick in the face.

More than a year later, in November 2008, Mary was hauled off to jail for public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in Del Rio, Texas.

The couple weathered ups, downs and beatings for years, but never married and went their separate ways in December 2009. Pretty sad story.

On the plus side, Vienna Girardi is no longer the biggest train wreck to have ever won The Bachelor. Take comfort in that, V - you're no Delgado!

After five years together, former star of The Bachelor Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado have split up, the sixth season star confirmed late Wednesday.

The couple got engaged on the show's November 2004 finale, where he proposed in Spanish so her parents, watching at home, could understand.

The Women Talk it Over

That was the high point for them.

Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado first showed signs of a trouble the night after they appeared on a Bachelor reunion episode in November 2007.

She was hauled off by police for assaulting her fiance, punching Velvick in the mouth and being heavily under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Mary was arrested again last November for public intoxication.

Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado had a great, sometimes violent run.

Shortly after the incident, Velvick maintained that they were still happily together, and that "they are just a real couple going through real things."

"Just because you met on a reality show, got engaged on this incredible setting doesn't mean that we're Prince Charming or Beautiful Princess."

NONE of the 13 stars of The Bachelor have married their final rose recipient, although Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney are angling to be the first.

We have a feeling they will officially break The Bachelor curse within the next year or so. We have a hunch there'll be a TV wedding somehow, too.

The season six winner of The Bachelor continued her losing streak with the law this weekend, unleashing a drunken and unprovoked attack on a police cruiser.

Mary Delgado - who was arrested late last year for allegedly punching her fiance, The Bachelor star Byron Velvick - was busted again Saturday night for public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at a bar in Del Rio, Texas.

The cantina called the cops because Mary Delgado refused to leave the bar, saying it was her "constitutional right" to stay there as long as she wanted.

Well, with an argument like that ...

DRUNK AND DISORDERLY: Prone to violent tirades after drinking too much, the classy Mary Delgado is poised to join our celebrity mug shots gallery for a second time.

Mary became "loud and belligerent" while being transported to jail, and kicked the radio inside the squad car. That always endears one to the authorities.

The increasingly insane Delgado was released from the Val Verde County Correctional Facility after Byron Velvick posted her bail for reasons unknown.

A word to the wise: Just be careful, Jason Mesnick. You never know what kind of psychos you're going to get engaged to when you go on The Bachelor.

Former star of The Bachelor Byron Velvick has gotten past a violent, late-2007 fight that resulted in a jailed, strung-out Mary Delgado mug shot.

"We're going day by day, on our own time," the pro fisherman, 43, says of life with his fiancée in the newest issue of Us Weekly.

Aren't they sweet? Matt Grant, this kind of happiness is what you're up against in your search for love on The Bachelor this spring ...

Byron Velvick, Mary Delgado Photos

These lovely photos show The Bachelor couple in a state of marital bliss. Or at least bliss. No couple from 11 seasons of the show has actually gotten married. None.

The couple, who got engaged after she won the final rose on TV back in 2004, are going strong these days despite a pre-Thanksgiving fight â€" Mary wanted to stay out later, Byron was ready to call it a night â€" that resulted in Delgado being arrested and charged with assault. Naturally. Charges were later dropped.

"You weather through stuff, work harder," Velvick says, "and you come to a better understanding if the love is real.

Adds Mary Delgado: "He's awesome."

Just don't cross her again.

Deanna Pappas can only hope she doesn't end up in the news for the same reason as another past contestant on The Bachelor: Mary Delgado.

Ina recent interview with Inside Edition, Delgado labeled her November arrest on a domestic battery charge as the result of an "unfortunate set of circumstances" that had nothing to due with her desire to walk down the aisle with fiance Byron Velvick.

"The assumption out there is that I'm upset because he doesn't want to marry me, and that's so far from the truth," Delgado said. "It was a lot of things. It was something that just kind of got out of hand."

Delgado and Velvick got into a fray because they disagreed over whether they should leave a friend's home after the couple they had been visiting with began arguing.

"I think that night we had a 'perfect storm' of things happening," Velvick profoundly said. "We had another couple that weren't getting along; there was a lot of issues there. They were being angry at each other."

Gosh, imagine how bloodied these two would be if they hung around Britney Spears and Lynne Spears often.

Of the experience, Delgado summed it up thusly: "It was humiliating. It's just indescribable. A lot of things go through your mind. From my mug shot you could see I cried nonstop."

New information is coming out about the round house Mary Delgado landed on former Bachelor Byron Velvick

While previous reports had indicated that the fight was a result of the couple disagreeing on when to leave a party, the contention began during a segment of The Bachelor reunion show on November 20.

Mary Delgado Picture

"They were watching it at their friends' house," said a source. "At on point the audience was asked if Byron should marry Mary. She'd already said she was ready to marry him. But behind her back he's shaking his head ‘no' and the whole audience was laughing."

If true, this almost gets Brad Womack off the hook, doesn't it? Better to diss Deanna Pappas and Jenni Croft now than lead them on for three years, isn't it?

Before the beating: Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado.

"On the stage at the taping she was unaware of this. She was embarrassed and furious. That was when she punched him," the insider continued. "He was so mad he called the cops."

Violence is nothing new to Mary, added the source, who maintained she was "very physical" with her previous boyfriend. And not in the hot, sexy, Jessica Sierra sex tape sort of way.

"She has a very short fuse," said the source. "I don't think Byron had any idea she was such a volcano."

Perhaps the fact that she signed up for a reality TV show should have been a sign, Byron. Just a thought.

Brad Womack really should send flowers to Mary Delgado.

While this season's Bachelor is still receiving plenty of flak for dissing both Jenni Croft and Deanna Pappas, Delgado has helped take some attention away from him by bloodying the lip of a past Bachelor star.

Meanwhile, the details have now emerged about just what led Mary Delgado to punching out Byron Velvick:

The couple were at a friends' condominium last Tuesday night when an argument ensued between the pals they were visiting. Byron Velvick wanted to leave. But Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt Jim Bordner told The Tampa Tribune that Mary Delgado wanted to stay.

After Mary and Byron got into Velvick's truck they "became involved in an argument which turned physical," the officer said.

"[Velvick] told deputies she started striking him in the chest [while] he pushed her to her side of the truck," Bordner added.

Delgado, a 40-year-old Tampa resident, then struck Velvick's mouth, causing the upper left side of his lip to split.

The former Bachelor went back inside the condominium to clean up while Delgado waited in the truck, which is when Velvick called the police and celebrity gossip blogs shouted with glee over the story.

The Hollywood Gossip has obtained the mug shot of Mary Delgado, the winner of some older season of The Bachelor winner that starred Byron Velvick.

Mary Delgado beat up Byron Velvick on November 21 of this year.

The 40-year-old Delgado is 5'05," weighs 110 pounds and currently resides in Tampa, Florida, according to police documents obtained after her arrest.

The Mary Delgado mug shot: So seductive.

According to Pinellas County records, Delgado - a former Tampa Bay Bucs (NFL) cheerleader (Jenni Croft would be proud) who got "the final rose" from Velvick in 2004 - was taken into custody on misdemeanor battery charges.

The affidavit said she was also under the influence of alcohol at the time. Unlike what Brad Womack pulled on this year's finale, that's not a shock!

Looks like Brad Womack knew exactly what he was doing.

By choosing neither Deanna Pappas nor Jenni Croft, Womack avoided the fate of another Bachelor from ABC's pathetic reality series.

Indeed, Byron Velvick, the season six star of The Bachelor, was attacked by Mary Delgado earlier this week. Who is she? Merely the woman he picked to marry on the show.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department, Delgado was arrested for punching Byron, bloodying his upper lip. TMZ reports she was charged with domestic battery.

The incident occurred Wednesday just after midnight and police say alcohol was a factor. We say the state of mind of any woman that appears on this degrading reality show is a factor.
