Mariah Carey appeared on HSN Sunday night to hawk various merchandize items. At least we think that's why she appeared on the network.

Whether due to a lack of sleep, an intake of alcohol or just her bizarre personality, Carey spent the segment rattling on about pretty much everything except what the show was selling. Child birth was foremost on Mariah's mind.

"Holding those twins in, you have to keep them in as long as possible," Carey said. "It's a sacrifice you make for them. Literally I was like, 47-weeks pregnant."

(Editor's note: Literally, she was not.)

"I was so uncomfortable," Mariah said of her knocked-up state. "[People] were always saying to me, 'Oh, but it's all worth it!' Yeah, but it's easy to say when you're not the one whose feet are this big! It turned into like a really difficult time."

Let's hope it was worth it for Mariah. It certainly was for us, considering the entertaining video above that resulted from Carey's pregnancy.

Might Mariah Carey join husband Nick Cannon in the reality show spotlight?

Sources say Mariah is in serious talks to join The X-Factor this fall as a mentor to contestants, with one mole telling Entertainment Weekly there's a decent chance to comes on board later in the season.

“Mariah and Simon are great friends, and now [that] she has had her babies, it’s very possible that she will be involved," the insider said. "She has always said she wanted to work with the show, so it’s something they will certainly be discussing ideas for soon.”

Cowell, as is his way, was far more blunt: this IS happening.

“She’ll be involved in some form," he said. "I literally adore her. I love her to bits.”

The X-Factor premieres on Fox on September 21 and will feature Nicole Scherzinger, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul as judges. Look for a sneak peek at the competition to air during the MLB All-Star Game on July 12.

Okay, so you can't see her adorable little face. But Mariah Carey teased fans on Twitter Sunday with a fabulous snapshot of her baby daughter Monroe.

"This is baby Monroe saying 'no pictures dahhhhling' at 7+1/2 weeks," Carey wrote beneath a photo of her little girl's hand, raised as if she were trying to shield her glamorous self from a pack of would-be paparazzi. "Oh dear."

Perhaps Monroe's dad, Nick Cannon, wasn't kidding when he described Monroe and her twin brother Moroccan, born on their anniversary in April.

"My son is laid back like me," he said. "My daughter's a diva like her mom! When my daughter wants something, she'll let you know immediately."

Hey, it's hard to blame the little gal. Sometimes when the celebrity gossip media gets too close, you gotta set up boundaries early.

New mom Mariah Carey was investigated by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services recently, and you won't believe the reason why.

The investigation was triggered by an anonymous phone call to DCFS complaining that the singer was drinking a Guinness beer while breastfeeding.

DCFS interviewed Mariah and spent time with the twins, and concluded there was no merit to the claim. The twins are in a healthy, safe environment.

According to reports, Mariah was informed by a hospital staffer after her twins' birth that drinking a dark beer would assist her in lactating. She did so.

We're told Mariah informed social workers she simply followed the staffer's advice and drank the Guinness, never hiding the fact that she consumed it.

In any case, Mariah's lawyer, Laura Wasser, was present during the DCFS interview and DCFS sources say there was simply no merit to the complaint.

Guinness, for what it's worth, has a low alcohol content (4.2%) as beers go, so it's doubtful it would harm Moroccan and Monroe Cannon in the least.

Certainly different, but here's the meaning of each:

As reported on Carey's official blog, their son's name is Moroccan Scott Cannon. Scott is Nick's middle name and his grandmother's maiden name.

And as for the unusual first name? The top tier of Carey's NYC apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of its Moroccan-inspired decor.

It's also where Cannon proposed to her in 2008.

The couple's daughter's name is Monroe Cannon.

The baby girl was named after Marilyn Monroe, an inspiration to Carey, and has no middle name because Mariah doesn't have one either.

Interesting all around. Congratulations again to the family!

The legendary singer delivered the babies just after noon today in Los Angeles.

Carey's rep, Cindi Berger, said the baby girl came first, weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz., and was 18 inches; her brother was next, at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and was 19 inches.

As for the twins' birthday, Nick seemingly called it.

"I'm not trying to be psychic, but we renew our vows every year so ... It's probably going to be in the hospital this year. I can feel it," he said Thursday.

"The minister's coming. This gown won't be a wedding gown, but a hospital gown."

Carey's rep tells People "she's doing great" and that the whole family were listening to Carey's "We Belong Together" after the children were born.

Those two kids are gonna have some awesome lullabies growingup. Just saying.

It's interesting how under most circumstances, a cover like this would be risque and borderline unpublishable. But with a pregnancy involved, it's “artsy,” people!

As a global superstar, Mariah Carey, has posed for more photo shoots than she can count. But none as personal, emotional or revealing as this one.

Days away from welcoming her first (and second) child, the singer and wife of Nick Cannon proudly showed her nude, pregnant body to Life & Style.

"I'm feeling vulnerable about taking pictures at all now, but didn't want to miss an opportunity to document a once-in-a-lifetime experience," she said.

"My goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans."

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, who are expecting twins this spring, are having a boy and a girl, a source confirms. The best of both worlds, you could say!

The parents-to-be have been cautious about revealing too many details about the babies since the pair had a "long journey" to parenthood, Cannon said.

But he and Carey are preparing for the arrival of the twins' by "decorating and designing" the babies' nurseries – one in Los Angeles and one in NYC.

The parents-to-be are coming down the home stretch.

Meanwhile, Cannon says that his wife is in nesting mode, has been cooking up a storm and trying to stay active with daily swims. Stay healthy, Mariah!
