Tennis champion Maria Sharapova is engaged! To Sasha Vujacic of the L.A. Lakers! The baller proposed with a rock rivaling one of his NBA championship rings!
The pair, who were first seen holding hands about a year ago, got engaged Tuesday after Sasha popped the question at his home in Manhattan Beach, CA.
According to TMZ, Maria has been spotted out wearing the ring, and even Vanessa Bryant would be impressed by the future Mrs. Vujacic's ginormous diamond.
Sasha Vujacic has more to celebrate than the L.A. Lakers' back-to-back titles. He's about to become the future Mr. Maria Sharapova! The couple just got engaged!
In news that does not relate at all to this story, Sasha has been on the Lakers' bench recovering from a concussion. This should help ease the pain somewhat.
Also interesting: While perhaps best known for her image, Maria is a three-time Grand Slam winner, holding Wimbledon, Australian Open and U.S. Open titles.

Charlie Ebersol is coming up aces in the girlfriend department.
The son of NBC sports chairman Dick Ebersol is reportedly dating tennis star Maria Sharapova, according to The New York Daily News.
For Maria Sharapova and Charlie Ebersol, it's love/love.
Sadly, Charlie first received media attention when he and his father survived a 2004 charter plane crash; it took the lives of two crew members and Charlie’s younger brother, Edward.
Since then, the Ebersol offspring has become a film producer, collaborating with Ashton Kutcher on a documentary.

The head of a Japanese ad agency secretly took crotch shots of the tennis icon as she posed for a Canon ad in 2005, according to a new federal lawsuit.
The gist? Toyo Shigeta, CEO of Dentsu Holdings, snapped the Maria Sharapova upskirt pictures to satisfy an obsession with women's private parts, according to the suit filed by Dentsu's former creative director, Steve Biegel.
Well, you know, to paraphrase one of the classic Seinfeld quotes, a woman's body is like a work of art, while a man's is like a Jeep - serving utility purposes only.Â
This Maria Sharapova crotch shot is not the one in question.
"Taking closeup crotch shots of women is a personal obsession of defendant Shigeta," Steve Biegel says of the Maria Sharapova photos in his lawsuit.
Biegel, 44, said the company actually fired him after he complained about Shigeta's propensity for pornographic picture taking.
Biegel also says he was forced to go to a bathhouse and a Prague brothel, where Shigeta urged the married Biegel to have sex with a prostitute.
And the alleged Maria Sharapova crotch shot? It's attached as physical evidence to Biegel's complaint, and labeled as Exhibit B.
Adam Levine Didn't Say Maria Sharapova Sucks in Bed
Despite recent reports to the contrary, it doesn't appear that Adam Levine has seen Maria Sharapova nude.
A representative for the Maroon 5 frontman and man-whore denies that he recently dissed the tennis star's lovemaking skills.
The rumors are "absolutely not true," says a rep for Adam Levine, who is said to have slept with Jessica Simpson, Natalie Portman, Lindsay Lohan and countless others.
This month, the Moscow newspaper The Exile said that Levine called 20-year-old Wimbledon champ - who he has been romantically linked with - a dead frog in the sack.

"She wouldn't make any noise during sex," Adam Levine is reported to have said of Sharapova. "I can't even tell you how disappointed I was. I really thought, like a lot of guys, that she'd be the loud screaming type."
"She just lay there like a dead frog. She even got angry if I started to moan, said it ruined her concentration. It was so disillusioning that I went on Paxil for a month afterwards. Really, it was much more of a shock than when I found out there's no such thing as the Easter Bunny."
Levine's rep confirms that the interview never took place. Us Weekly says the story was intended as a satire. Maria Sharapova is still hot, however.
