Dr. Phil's production company is suing Gawker Media over its use of an interview with Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the man behind the Manti Te'o girlfriend hoax.

The suit claims the company, via its sports blog Deadspin, posted the best parts of the interview online before it had aired in the majority of Dr. Phil markets.

The lawsuit also criticizes the entire "system" of content aggregation.

"A remora is a fish, sometimes called a suckerfish, which attaches itself to other fish like sharks," reads the legal complaint filed this week in Texas.

"The host fish gains nothing from the relationship but the remora is enriched by obtaining benefits (usually food and transportation) from the host."

Manti Te'o finally appeared on camera today, for the first time since his girlfriend hoax went public, making one thing VERY clear to Katie Couric:

He is not gay.

Asked by the host about his sexuality - because some have speculated this might explain why Te'o would invent a woman named Lennay Kekua - Te'o was explicit in his response to the question of whether or not he's a homosexual:

"No. Far from it. FAR FROM IT."

In anticipation of his interview with Katie Couric, Manti Te'o has released a trio of voicemails to the talk show host, all of which feature a female voice he believed at the time to be girlfriend Lennay Kekua.

It has since been confirmed the calls were instead made by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo.

In the first, obtained by TMZ and allegedly left right before "Lennay" started chemotherapy, the individual simply says:

"Just wanted to call you and keep you posted... I miss you, I love you... bye."

Score another point for Manti Te'o in his battle to prove that he had nothing to do with fooling America into thinking he had a girlfriend.

In an interview with People, Alexandra del Pilar - who dated the Notre Dame linebacker for two months in late 2012 - says Te'o often referenced Lennay Kekua and acted every bit like someone who believed she died of leukemia on September 12.

"Lennay was often brought up in conversation," Del Pilar says. "I wanted to know about her, and how they did the long distance. He definitely [loved her]."

In a taped interview with Katie Couric, which will air tomorrow on that host's talk show, Manti Te'o admits to at least one time when he lied about the existence of his girlfriend, Lennay Kekua.

Asked by Couric whether he was in on the hoax, Te'o says no - but he did mislead reporters on two occasions after receiving a call on December 6 from someone claiming to be Kekua, who Te'o thought to have died two months earlier.

"Put yourself in my situation," Te'o says in a clip that aired today on Good Morning America. "My whole world told me that she died on Sept. 12. Everybody knew that."

Hence, Te'o says, why he referenced his girlfriend in two subsequent interviews, one online December 8 and again when talking to a newspaper on December 10.

Manti Te'o will finally face the world this Thursday, as the Notre Dame linebacker has agreed to his first on-camera interview since the Lennay Kekua hoax broke on the January 24 installment of Katie.

The Heisman Trophy runner-up spoke to ESPN on Friday, insisting he played NO role in the scheme.

But this sit-down, which will include Manti's parents, will mark his first televised Q&A since the perplexing story was broken in a Deadspin article a few days ago.

Manti Te'o has spoken to a reporter for the first time in days and gone on the record:

He played no role in Lennay Kekua and duping the public into believing he had a girlfriend who died of cancer.

"I wasn't faking it. I wasn't part of this," Te'o told ESPN's Jeremy Schaap last night in a two-and-a-half hour, off-camera interview.

The Notre Dame linebacker and NFL prospect even said he didn't know for total certainty that Kekua was a fabrication until Wednesday night when Ronaiah Tuiasosopo called him and admitted to the hoax.

"Two guys and a girl are responsible for the whole thing," Te'o said. "According to Ronaiah, Ronaiah's one."

According to a new report, Alexandra del Pilar dated Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o for a couple months toward the end of last year.

And get this: she actually exists!

TMZ has uncovered evidence, in the form of anonymous quotes; Twitter posts; and, most damning of all, photos, that make it appear as if Te'o struck up a relationship with del Pilar - a 21-year old student at St. Mary's College in Indiana - some time in mid-November.

Why is this significant?
