Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard became the proud parents of their second baby girl a week and a half ago, a rep for Gyllenhaal confirmed today.

Born April 19 in New York, the parents named their daughter Gloria Ray.

Gyllenhaal, 34, and Sarsgaard, 41, are already parents to daughter Ramona, 5. Together since 2002, the couple tied the knot in Brindisi, Italy, in 2009.

Since first becoming a mother in 2006, Gyllenhaal, like so many other working moms, says she's struggled to balance her personal and professional life.

"I had been so focused on Ramona and she's been everything to me, but I'm also an actress," she said recently. "It's not possible to do it perfectly."

Sarsgaard, meanwhile, had another set of concerns.

"I've seen kids with siblings - I don't have any, so I don't know - but they generally go for about five minutes, 'Oh, cool! Anyway, what are we going to do now? Can we return it?' I think it gets boring quickly, at first, and it takes them awhile to bond."

We have a feeling Ramona will manage. Congrats!

Maggie Gyllenhaal and husband Peter Sarsgaard, already the parents of a five-year-old daughter, are expecting their second child together, according to reports.

Rumors swirled last month when she arrived on the red carpet premiere of her movie Hysteria at the Rome Film Festival, sporting what looked like a baby bump.

A source confirmed: "Over Thanksgiving weekend, Maggie was telling friends that she's six months pregnant. Her bump is so big! She's thrilled to be pregnant!"

Maggie and Peter got engaged in 2006 and wed in 2009.

The Gyllenhaarsgaard source adds: "She and Peter have wanted another child for a while. They're very happy that they'll have another baby in the house soon."

Jake Gyllenhaal, meanwhile, "is so happy she's pregnant again because he loves kids. Maggie's said that he's the best uncle and has done a lot of sweet things."

Congratulations to Maggie, Peter and Ramona on the big news!

One of our favorite, most underrated celebrity couples got married over the weekend.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard tied the proverbial knot at a small chapel near Rome, Italy on Saturday.

"We are happy to confirm that Maggie and Peter were married on Saturday, May 2," the actress' rep told Us Weekly.

The pair has been dating for seven years. They announced their engagement in April 2006 and are the parents to two-year old daughter Ramona.

The wedding was a small affair, as approximately 40 guests attended the event. Included among them, as you might expect, were Maggie's brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, and his famous girlfriend, Reese Witherspoon.

We touched on Lauren Conrad's dress (not literally - we wish!) yesterday in a celebrity fashion feature on The Hills star attending The Dark Knight premiere. Now, let's look at what two other beauties worse that night.

In short, varied hemlines heated up this red carpet!

Unsurprisingly, Gossip Girl fashion magnate Blake Lively showed the most leg in a silk romper. The fit seems a little off, but then again, having just about a perfect body like Blake Lively's helps you pull it off, though.

In the knee-length category, Lauren Conrad wore a form-fitting corset-like number. The silhouette is a little sexy-secretary. No complaints here!

Lastly, we have Maggie Gyllenhaal, who (on this night at least) chose a more traditional, long, strapless gown befitting of a leading lady.

In this celebrity fashion face-off featuring Gossip Girl's Blake Lively, The Hills' Lauren Conrad and The Dark Knight's Maggie Gyllenhaal, which dress is best?

Maggie Gyllenhaal says motherhood made her a better actress, but now she wants to spend more time at home than in front of the cameras.

"I think having a child changes everything and has deepened everything in my life," said Gyllenhaal, mom to 20-month-old daughter Ramona.

Ryan Shawhughes, Baby

"It really does crack you open in every conceivable way. I never knew that I could be so tired. I never knew that I could work so hard. I never knew that I could love so much or be so patient or be so excited by the tiniest, tiniest little thing. Everything about it has surprised me," Maggie said.

It took next month's The Dark Knight, in which Gyllenhaal co-stars with Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger, to get her back to work.

From the looks of the previews, it was well worth it.

At home, Maggie Gyllenhaal says she receives tremendous support balancing parenthood and career from fiancé, Peter Sarsgaard.

"We share absolutely equally," she explained, and added that her younger brother Jake Gyllenhaal is "a great uncle."

In honor of the following, hideous dress worn by Maggie Gyllenhaal, allow us to make an insulting pun out of a trio of her movies. To wit:

Thank you. We'll be here all week. Now, take a look at the dress and let us know your thoughts on it:

Forget Heidi Klum.

Take your eyes off Gisele Bundchen.

Why bother with Patrice Hollis?

When lingerie line Agent Provocateur was looking for a new face - or, well, body - for its ad campaign, it went in an unconventional direction: quality actress Maggie Gyllenhaal.

"Maggie is not an obvious sex symbol," said Serena Rees, co-founder of Agent Provocateur. "She is interesting looking, confident and beautiful in a way that is non-threatening, which makes her appealing to men and women alike."

We can't argue with that, as Gyllenhaal replaces supermodel Kate Moss as Provocateur spokesmodel.

Based on this photo, the company made the right choice. Take a look, Kim Kardashian, this is how you do sexy instead of trashy:

This pic of Maggie Gyllenhaal is almost enough to make us not care about Holly Madison nude. You're a lucky man, Peter Sarsgaard.

Oops. Even The Hollywood Gossip gets it wrong sometimes.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard

We had initially reported that Rachel McAdams was on board for the next Batman movie, Dark Knight. But please allow us a mulligan.

It's now been confirmed that Maggie Gyllenhaal will take over the role of Rachel Dawes in the upcoming follow-up to Batman Begins. Yes, that's the role played by Katie Holmes, who reportedly had to drop out due to schedule conflict; aka, a demand by her insane husband.

Or is Mrs. Cruise not available because she'll be knocked up with a sibling for Suri Cruise? We'll be sure to keep you posted.

Either way, director Christopher Nolan is psyched to have Gyllenhaal in the film: "I'm extremely excited to work with an actress of Maggie's caliber, and she's a great addition to the cast as we continue our story."

Others in the cast include Heath Ledger as the Joker and Aaron Eckhart as the villain, Two-Face.

Meanwhile, the involvement of Gyllenhaal will likely leave adorable celebrity baby Ramona in the hands of her father, Peter Sarsgaard for awhile. But that's okay. We'd trust him with our kid.
