Madonna certainly keeps things lively. At her concert in D.C. this week, she discussed how amazing it is that we have a "black Muslim in the White House" who's for gay rights.

This is a supporter of the President who rocks an Obama tattoo.

It's possible, even likely, that Madonna was mocking those who actually think Barack Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya. Then again, birthers aren't known to appreciate irony.

Better (or worse) yet? Madonna promised to get nude if Obama wins in November! Somewhere, Mitt Romney is getting ready to send out a fundraising appeal with this clip.

(To the 53 percent.)

Madonna is totally a Little Monster at heart ... maybe.

Putting to rest (or fueling) their ongoing quasi-beef, the pop icon dedicated a song to Lady Gaga in concert the other night and promised they'll "share the stage" soon.

“You wanna know something? I love her,” the Material Girl said, adding, “I love her. I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.” Yep, you knew it was coming.

Madonna followed the zinger up by stating that “one day, very soon, we’re going to be on stage together. Just you wait. You think I’m kidding? I love Lady Gaga.”

We kind of do think she's kidding, actually. Watch Madge's dedication of "Masterpiece" - the same song she dedicated to Elton John this summer - to Gaga below:

"Masterpiece" is the track that won her a Golden Globe over Elton's “Hello Hello” this year, and John's feud with Madonna is much more above board than Gaga's.

Elton and Gaga are close, of course (she’s his son Zachary’s godmother), so it's possible Madonna is using the mock-tributes to take thinly-veiled shots here.

On the other hand, she may well be serious about collaborating with the Lady. Rivals or respectful contemporaries, that would generate mammoth publicity.

If you had to pick a side ...

Madonna takes her support of President Obama very seriously.

So much so she had his name tattooed on her back, albeit probably/hopefully temporarily. The pop icon showed it off last night live at Yankee Stadium.

As Obama delivered his nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Madonna clearly had the Prez on her mind.

"Tonight I'm not going to show my a$$," she said, unveiling the Obama tattoo. "I'm going to show my feelings. How's that for living dangerously?"

"I've seen some scary things," she told the N.Y. crowd earlier.

"I've seen people being locked up and put in jail for speaking their minds, for being gay, for not practicing the right religion, for not dressing the proper way."

"Yeah, it's scary. It doesn't mean that this is the perfect country. We have a long way to go. But what it made me realize is how lucky I am to be living here in America."

Madge also recently tattooed her support for Pussy Riot.

Elton John recently referred to Madonna as a "f--king fairground stripper," adding that the Material Girl's career was as good as over and labeling her a certain C-word.

Those comments followed John's husband, David Furnish, also having some harsh words for the legendary artist. So, how has the notoriously combative Madonna responded?

With an attempt at reconciliation. During a concert in France last night, the singer dedicated the song "Masterpiece" to John, saying: "I know he's a big fan of it. And I know he's a big fan of mine. And you know? I forgive him. Gotta start somewhere."

Madonna and Russia may not be the best fit.

During her concert earlier this month in St. Petersburg, Madonna asked the capacity crowd to raise their hands in support of gays and lesbians.

Nice gesture, right? Yes ... but ILLEGAL.

Madonna at the Super Bowl

It's against the law there to promote homosexuality to minors in St. Petersburg, and there were kids as young as 12 at the concert in question.

Nine activists have now filed a suit for 333 million rubles ($10.5 million) against the pop star, her show's organizer and the hall where it was held.

Madonna allegedly stomped on an Orthodox cross and told her adoring audience to raise their pink armbands in support of the gay community.

Madonna also made headlines by supporting Pussy Riot, the Russian band jailed for staging a protest show at a Russian Orthodox cathedral.

If she's not careful, she may end up being charged with hooliganism herself ... but would you ever expect Madonna to bow to authority?

As one of the leading voices speaking out in support of Pussy Riot - she gave an impassioned speech (below) during a concert in Russia two weeks ago - Madonna has now released a new statement in light of this group's members being sentenced to two years in prison.

A judge decreed last week that Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alekhina, and Yekaterina Samutsevich will spend time behind bars for disparaging Vladimir Putin outside a cathedral, an act deemed in court as "hooliganism."

Writes Madonna in response to the decision:

I protest the conviction and sentencing of Pussy Riot to a penal colony for two years for a 40 second performance extolling their political opinions.

Even if one disagrees with the location or how they chose to express themselves, the sentence is too harsh and in fact is inhumane. I call on all those who love freedom to condemn this unjust punishment. I urge artists around the world to speak up in protest against this travesty. They've spent enough time in jail. I call on ALL of Russia to let Pussy Riot go free.

Madonna - who is being sued for $10.5 million by Russian activists because she challenged the gay pride ban in St. Petersburg during a recent show there - is not alone in her disdain over the Pussy Riot verdict.

Many celebrities have expressed outrage over Twitter, with The Black Keys vowing to never perform in Russia again under this sort of law.

Shaun Sperling's Bar Mitzvah dance to Madonna's "Vogue" way back in 1992 was posted online this week, presumably by Shaun or someone close to him and with the hope or expectation that the epic performance would go viral, which it obviously has.

Poetry in motion, Shaun. Poetry in motion.

It's unclear why young Sperling chose to signify the religious celebration of becoming a man with "Vogue," but nothing we can add would do him justice.

All we want to know now is who's coming out with the Lady Gaga equivalent this year. Consider the challenge issued, Jewish 13-year-olds of America!

Ms. Madonna Louise Ciccone, better known by just the first of those three names, turns 54 years young today. The Queen of Pop is practically ageless!

Over her three-decade career, Madonna has sold more than 300 million records, easily making her the top-selling female recording artist of all time.

Madonna performed in Moscow this week and lent her support to embattled punk trio Pussy Riot, as well as to the cause of human unity worldwide.

Despite Elton John claiming her career is over, no one told the raucous Russian crowd as they cheered the Queen of Pop's every controversial move.

Check out her tribute to imprisoned female group Pussy Riot, who were arrested for staging an unauthorized concert a Moscow Cathedral in March:

"As you can see here on my stage, everybody with me comes from every different place in the world," Madonna addressed the crowd mid-show.

"From Africa, from America, from France, from Russia [the crowd cheered in response], from England. We are Christians, we are Muslims, we are Jews."

"We are everything you can imagine," she continued. "But we are a family. We are together. We are gay, we are straight, we are human beings!

"And this very last sentence, human beings, is the most important one, and in fact the only one, that we should refer to each other adds...OK?"

Words to live by, people. Can't we all just get along?

Elton John has fired yet another salvo in his strange, ongoing feud with Madonna, slamming the recent antics of the "f--king fairground stripper."

Whoa.

During an interview with Australian TV show, John bristled at the mere mention of the singer, saying, "She's such a nightmare. Her career's over."

He didn't stop there, ranting that "she looks like a f--king fairground stripper" and ripping her recent gun-pulling stunt and dance-pop catalog.

"If Madonna had any common sense she would have made another record like Ray of Light," he added, "and stayed away from the dance stuff."

The 65-year-old John said that the Queen of Pop should "just be a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly."

John's beef, or at least the latest iteration of it, may stem from her quasi-feud with Lady Gaga, godmother to Elton's 19-month-old son, Zachary.

"[Madonna's] been so horrible to Gaga," John told Sunday Night.

In May, Madonna performed a curious mash-up of "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" that many saw as a Lady Gaga diss, not a tribute.

John's feud with Madge goes back to 2004, when he accused her of lip-syncing, a point he reiterated earlier this year before the Super Bowl.

Elton's husband, David Furnish, has also gone off on Madonna.
