A$AP Rocky caused controversy with his apparently homophobic expressions and posturing at the MTV VMAs, but says nothing could be further from the truth.
Rocky looked uncomfortable as he and Jason Collins introduced Macklemore at the event. Collins spoke about being gay and expressing hope for acceptance.
A$AP then awkwardly promoted his new album once the NBA player, who recently made history by coming out as gay, had finished speaking.
In a new interview, however, Rocky says he regrets that night.
“I’m mad that my facial expressions was like that because I’m not homophobic at all, and that whole thing just came off real homophobic,” the rapper said.
“I didn’t really notice it until I got home and saw it."
