The upcoming World Series between the Kansas City Royals and the San Francisco Giants just got very personal.

For Lorde, at least.

A pair of Bay City radio stations - KFOG Radio and 96.5 KOIT  - have benched the single “Royals” from their airwaves until the conclusion of The Fall Classic.

The singer, after all, revealed many months ago that the inspiration for this track came from a photograph she saw in National Geographic of a baseball player with Royals on his shirt.

The picture ended up being of Kansas City legend George Brett signing autographs - and Lorde was later given her own signed jersey by the Hall of Famer.

Remember that time a young fan was surprised with Taylor Swift tickets?

Or a news anchor surprised his kids with a trip to Disneyworld?

This video may top those both.

It features a 12-year old who believes she’s riding with her parents to the water park (not a bad place to go, really), only to then be informed instead that she’s actually on the way to a Lorde concert. For real!

“I get to see Lorde!” the girl shrieksin disbelief. “No, I don’t! No, I don’t!”

No... you do! We said it was for real. Check out her precious reaction here:

And then, in an example of how social media can work in oh so very awesome ways, Lorde caught wind of the girl’s response to the shocker and and Tweeted the video to her 2 million followers, writing,

“just got sent this and i am teary– COOLEST GIRL EVER.”

It's sort of official: there's serious bad blood brewing between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.

It all started when Swift told Rolling Stone that she penned a song on hew new album about an enemy in the world of music, someone who did “something so horrible” when she tried to “sabotage an entire arena tour."

Then, not long after these comments went public, Perry Tweeted a reference to Mean Girls and a "Regina George in sheep's clothing," who we're rather positive is Taylor Swift.

So the claws are pretty much out between two of the top-selling artists in pop music history.

Will things get uglier from here? Who will fire the next shot? And where does this feud rank among recent famous rivalries, which include Drake Bell HATING on Justin Bieber and Jimmy Kimmel trading barbs with Kanye West?

Flip around and decide now:

Katy Perry vs. Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift wrote a song titled "Bad Blood" about an enemy in the music business. We're pretty sure the subject was Katy Perry.

Taylor Swift and Lorde are the best of friends.

Did you catch the artists dancing together at last night's Video Music Awards? Totes. Adorbs.

But it's no fun when celebrities get along, is it? We wanna see singers feud, brawl and fight! Or at least be juxtaposed alongside each other for a Fashion Face-Off, right?

With that in mind, we've contrasted Taylor's short shorts with Lorde's far less colorful outfit from the VMAs and we've asked readers to cast their vote: WHO LOOKS BETTER?

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards have come and gone, providing plenty of memorable moments from the red carpet to the big stage at the Forum in Inglewood.

From Taylor Swift's red carpet prediction of her own terrible dancing (she delivered) to Blue Ivy and Beyonce showing us all how it's done, this night had it all.

Amber Rose's VMA dress turned heads (as did Demi Lovato's), Ariana and Big Sean were caught holding hands and Common paid tribute to Michael Brown.

As expected, we saw Nicki Minaj Twerking until the cows came home (and Usher sampling the goods), the Kardashians looked bored to tears, and Lorde?

Lorde was Lorde. Awkward, talented Lorde.

Did you miss the ceremony? Want to see all of the aforementioned highlights and more in just two minutes? Let's break down the 2014 MTV VMAs in GIFs!

Lorde is officially on The Hunger Games team.

The young singer confirmed today that she will write and sing an original song for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and that she will also be in charge of compiling the entire album.

"Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance,” Lorde said in a statement. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 will be released on November 21, bringing back Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth as Gale and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta.

So there's an Instagram user  named Liam who dresses up like young, female celebrities. The 17-year-old goes all out with this pastime, and he nails it.

Posing exactly like Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Kylie and Kendall Jenner and many others while drawing upon them for fashion inspiration, Liam's photos are ...

We don't even know what to say. They speak for themselves:

Kendall and Kylie Jenner
Instagram user Liam, or Waverider as he goes by, dresses up as Kendall and Kylie Jenner in this hilarious photo reenactment.

"I first got the idea to do these type of photos about eight months ago," the teenager told Metro in a recent interview, regarding his viral celeb reenactments.

"I liked the idea that not many guys would do what I do, and it’s something different ... people’s reactions to the photos were great, so I just kept doing them!"

That he did, while paying close attention to every last detail.

Liam says he scours cheap stores for his ensembles, and/or makes them himself at home with his impressive tailoring and crafting skills.

His favorite star to impersonate? She's #11 in this gallery.

If you're a female celebrity, it's pretty much a rule that you fall in love with Taylor Swift at some point.

First Taylor and Karlie Kloss became BFFs. Shortly thereafter, every hot model on earth decided they want to hang with Taylor.

Now it's Lorde's turn.

Lorde and Taylor

Lorde and Taylor have hung out previously, and the duo was quickly anointed with the obvious nickname of "Lorde and Taylor." (Ya know? Like the store! Derp!)

But their relationship reached a new height today, as the 17-year-old New Zealand native gave an interview in which she basically just gushed about Swifty the whole time:

A southern hemisphere pop star feud seemed to be in the making last week when Iggy Azalea threw shade at Lorde while commenting on a recent performance:

Referring to the Lorde joining Nirvana to sing "All Apologies" at this year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Iggy remarked:

"I think when you're doing a tribute to someone who's dead, generally it should be that person's peer. Lorde is not Kurt Cobain's peer. Whether she killed the performance or not, I just don't think it's appropriate."

It's hard to see how that could be interpreted as anything other than an insult, but Iggy claims she was simply misunderstood:

Summer might not officially begin until June 21, but unofficially, the hottest season of the year is here. Bathing suits, sunscreen, and the beach are all calling our names.

You know what else this season needs? More... MUSIC. Songs of summer, to be exact.

What, exactly, IS a "song of summer"? Right now it's what every artist is trying to acquire: the most played song of the season that most ... well, reminds us of summer.

Our favorite warm-weather jams conjure up images of bodies of water, dancing, frozen and/or boozy drinks, and maybe even some lovin'. Preferably all of the above.

To that end, we've compiled a playlist of 21 songs of summer, comprised of #1 hits and hot songs we love that remind us of our carefree time in the sun.

Roll your windows down, turn your radio up, and cruise through this gallery ...

Summertime
THE song of summer, Will Smith's "Summertime" has been oft-imitated, never duplicated.
