Lorde is officially on The Hunger Games team.

The young singer confirmed today that she will write and sing an original song for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and that she will also be in charge of compiling the entire album.

"Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance,” Lorde said in a statement. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 will be released on November 21, bringing back Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth as Gale and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta.

So there's an Instagram user  named Liam who dresses up like young, female celebrities. The 17-year-old goes all out with this pastime, and he nails it.

Posing exactly like Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Kylie and Kendall Jenner and many others while drawing upon them for fashion inspiration, Liam's photos are ...

We don't even know what to say. They speak for themselves:

Kendall and Kylie Jenner
Instagram user Liam, or Waverider as he goes by, dresses up as Kendall and Kylie Jenner in this hilarious photo reenactment.

"I first got the idea to do these type of photos about eight months ago," the teenager told Metro in a recent interview, regarding his viral celeb reenactments.

"I liked the idea that not many guys would do what I do, and it’s something different ... people’s reactions to the photos were great, so I just kept doing them!"

That he did, while paying close attention to every last detail.

Liam says he scours cheap stores for his ensembles, and/or makes them himself at home with his impressive tailoring and crafting skills.

His favorite star to impersonate? She's #11 in this gallery.

If you're a female celebrity, it's pretty much a rule that you fall in love with Taylor Swift at some point.

First Taylor and Karlie Kloss became BFFs. Shortly thereafter, every hot model on earth decided they want to hang with Taylor.

Now it's Lorde's turn.

Lorde and Taylor

Lorde and Taylor have hung out previously, and the duo was quickly anointed with the obvious nickname of "Lorde and Taylor." (Ya know? Like the store! Derp!)

But their relationship reached a new height today, as the 17-year-old New Zealand native gave an interview in which she basically just gushed about Swifty the whole time:

A southern hemisphere pop star feud seemed to be in the making last week when Iggy Azalea threw shade at Lorde while commenting on a recent performance:

Referring to the Lorde joining Nirvana to sing "All Apologies" at this year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Iggy remarked:

"I think when you're doing a tribute to someone who's dead, generally it should be that person's peer. Lorde is not Kurt Cobain's peer. Whether she killed the performance or not, I just don't think it's appropriate."

It's hard to see how that could be interpreted as anything other than an insult, but Iggy claims she was simply misunderstood:

Summer might not officially begin until June 21, but unofficially, the hottest season of the year is here. Bathing suits, sunscreen, and the beach are all calling our names.

You know what else this season needs? More... MUSIC. Songs of summer, to be exact.

What, exactly, IS a "song of summer"? Right now it's what every artist is trying to acquire: the most played song of the season that most ... well, reminds us of summer.

Our favorite warm-weather jams conjure up images of bodies of water, dancing, frozen and/or boozy drinks, and maybe even some lovin'. Preferably all of the above.

To that end, we've compiled a playlist of 21 songs of summer, comprised of #1 hits and hot songs we love that remind us of our carefree time in the sun.

Roll your windows down, turn your radio up, and cruise through this gallery ...

Ah, Iggy Azalea...she may be new on the scene, but she's already drawing plenty of attention not just for her music but for her frequent WTF?! behavior.

When Iggy's not posting bikini photos of herself, she's usually picking baffling fights with other female artists.

Last week Iggy attacked Nicki Minaj fans and bizarrely claimed that none of them have done anything with their lives. This week she's attacking flawless 17-year-old pop star Lorde.

They may be from the same part of the world but Aussie Iggy and New Zealander Lorde apparently have very different views on what constitutes appropriate material for a cover song:

What's in a name? As it turns out, maybe everything.

Since Shakespeare first posited the question in Romeo and Juliet, actors have been using fake names to land professional roles. Not only did it allow them some semblance of privacy before the dawn of Wikipedia, but let's face it, some people just aren't born with great names.

Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor? Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta? Quite a mouthful.

If an actor or musician's entire career is dedicated to being someone else - a character or personality, perhaps - then a good stage name can go a long way to making that career explode.

More celebrities use pseudonyms than you might think. In fact, here are 67 stars who don't use their real names. Which ones did you know before viewing this gallery?

Lorde
Musical sensation Lorde was given the name Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor at birth. We'd probably go with Lorde, too.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards 2014 have come and gone and today we're all a'Twitter with talks about the performances that took place in Las Vegas.

Specifically, who had the best performance at the Billboard Music Awards? In case you missed it, here are Sunday evening's performances in all their glory.

Lorde Billboard Music Awards Performance 2014
Lorde performs "Tennis Court" at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.

The Michael Jackson hologram definitely turned a head or two, as the King of Pop danced from the Great Beyond thanks to the use of computers and technology.

And then there was that Miley Cyrus monstrosity where she completely embarrassed the memory of The Beatles via satellite while in their mother land!!

Yikes, Miley!

Lorde performed her new song "Tennis Court" at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards last night, stunning the Las Vegas crowd with her unique vocal stylings.

The New Zealand teen delivered a dark rendition of the track, keeping the theatrics and lighting on stage to a minimum, as has become her calling card.

Ironically, her all-black outfit seems to help her talent shine even more (and that fashionable hat doesn't hurt either). It's her voice that truly owns the room, though.

Listen to her sing "Tennis Court" below and see what we mean ...

Authentic would be one word to describe the up-and-comer. Raw and rigid would be others, but that doesn't mean she's emotionless. Far from it, in fact.

Unlike the similarly dark Lorde Grammy Awards performance, she could be seen smiling and clearly having fun with the crowd at times during this one.

She certainly had ample reason to smile Sunday. Lorde was among the Billboard Music Awards winners for 2014, winning Best New Artist at the event.

Winning raves for performances both raw and fearless - which also describe her appearance at times - there's no telling how James Lowe's girlfriend can go.

Check out other performances from last night below:
