Lil Wayne is admitting he has/had a substance abuse problem ... specifically sizzurp.

The rapper claims he frequently pounded the codeine-based drink, often spoken about by artists in his genre in an attempt to sound hard, but only 'cause he was "sick."

Wayne spilled his guts in a new documentary-style video shot by one of his pals, saying he first started drinking the stuff when idol Pimp C would often rap about it.

Pimp C died of an overdose of sizzurp in 2007.

Weezy claims he relied on the gangsta beverage as he became more famous, saying he needed the drink to help him cope with the pressure of being a celebrity.

Between recording a new album and taking Selena Gomez out on incredible dates, Justin Bieber found time this week to first wish Lil Wayne a happy birthday (the rapper turned 29 on September 27)...

... and then to honor the artist with a cover of his hit "How to Love." Justin even included his own verse in the following rendition: I just need you by my side/ Baby, we could be alright/ I just want to hold you right when we go into the night.

Lady Gaga's performance kicked off Sunday's MTV VMAs. Lil Wayne's ended the show, and was possibly even more ridiculous than anything preceding it.

"Performing" two songs from Tha Carter IV, which comes out today, Weezy wore no shirt, with pants down to his ankles and every other word bleeped out.

From what we've heard, "How to Love" channeled Kanye's 808s and Heartbreak, while "John" featured a full rock-band presentation over Wayne's quote-unquote vocals.

Lil Wayne VMA Performance

Lil Wayne has bigger problems than lawsuits or baby mama drama.

At least more physically painful ones. Dude needed nine stitches to close a bloody wound over his left eye after an incident at a St. Louis skateboard park.

Weezy, who was accompanied by several members of his entourage, had his head checked/treated at a local hospital, where he was eventually released.

Redundantly named rapper Rich Rick claims Lil Wayne ripped off his property, the beat behind Weezy's moving, tender single "How to Love."

Now he's out for some legal payback.

Rick filed a lawsuit earlier this week claiming he purchased several master recordings between 2006 and 2009 - including the beat now appearing on LW's "How to Love" - from a group of rap producers called Drummer Boyz.

Rick claims that the Boyz went on to pitch the beat to Lil Wayne in 2010, and that Weezy acquired it in exchange for a cut of the royalties.

The song's a hit and Rick's suing both Weezy and the Drummer Boyz, plus others involved, for everything from breach of contract to fraud.

Weezy has also been accused of stealing "Bedrock."

Lil Wayne and his posse were attacked with pepper spray last night in Canada, after some d!ck got the stuff into the air ducts of a Montreal club.

It went down at La Mouche, where Weezy hosted an after party for his show. The ventilation system was compromised and people were evacuated.

This incident sounds awfully scary and really is not a laughing matter ... but it really deserves an Anne Hathaway gangsta rap synopsis, don't you think?

So far, it's unclear if police are investigating the incident, but a rep for Lil Wayne says that the rapper is "okay and gearing for his next stop in Toronto."

You can't faze a real thug. Represent.

Anne Hathaway came ready to drop bombs on Conan Tuesday.

With paparazzi stalking the set of The Dark Knight Rises, in which Anne will be playing Catwoman, the actress is looking to release some pent-up frustration.

“With all the stuff that’s been going on with Batman, the paparazzi attention has been a little intense," she told Conan O'Brien on his show last night. "So I actually wrote a rap song about it ... it's in the style of Lil Wayne.”

What better influence, right? Watch:

Anne Hathaway Rapping

Lil Wayne, along with Universal Music Group, Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment, was hit with a lawsuit by Done Deal Enterprises.

Their allegation? That the rapper stole the 2009 hit song "Bedrock."

The track, included on Young Money Entertainment's CD We Are Young Money, also features artists Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lloyd and was a mega-hit.

Lil Wayne is being sued for some serious cash money!

The group seeks $15 million payout for copyright infringement. Dwayne Carter Jr. (Wayne's real name) has been ordered to appear in court October 12.

Wayne is also facing legal trouble for alleged unpaid royalties to the production duo Play-N-Skillz from a 2008 collaboration with T-Pain on Tha Carter III.

Weezy's response: "They can't stop me ... even if they stopped me."

The man is bombarded with panties wherever he goes. We buy it.

Lil Wayne has knocked up his share of females already, but judging by this display at his recent show, his impregnating days may not be done yet.

Not by a long shot. He found himself facing a major onslaught - we're talking a full-on deluge - of panties thrown onto the stage by excited ladies.

A video of the event shows panties flying on stage. Weezy holds them up for the crowd, which causes at least a dozen more pairs to follow suit.

You know what's funny? Why is it called a pair of panties when it's just one item (and a skimpy one at that in this case)? Pretty crazy, right?

Ladies Love Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne is used to being patted down by members of law enforcement. But stripped down for an unplugged set on MTV? That will be a new one for sure.

The rap star is slated to appear on "MTV Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged" Sunday, June 12, in a performance that will air on MTV, MTV.com and MTV2.

Lil Wayne's "Unplugged" performance will be the first hip-hop set "Unplugged" has produced since Jay-Z's special in 2001. Should be ... interesting.

RAW: Prepare for a tender, intimate night with Lil Wayne.

As part of the buildup to his hotly anticipated album Tha Carter IV, due out early this summer, Weezy will pull from his massive catalog of hits.

Hearing those hits in an unadorned, unpredictable acoustic set will be different, to say the least. What's next? Weezy Live From Rikers Island?
