He pleaded no contest and was imprisoned.

Former MLB star and apparent hard ass criminal Lenny Dykstra was given 20 YEARS in prison today ... on top of the three he was already serving.

Dykstra pleaded guilty in federal court to bankruptcy fraud, concealment of assets and money laundering following his unreal arrest late last year.

"Nails" had been accused of filing for bankruptcy, then illegally hiding and selling up to $400,000 worth of possessions stashed inside his mansion.

Dykstra's sentencing is scheduled for December 3.

Dykstra has already been behind bars since March. He is currently serving three years for grand theft auto and falsifying financial statements.

Oh, and worse still, Dykstra also has a nine-month jail sentence hanging over his head for exposing himself to women he met on Craigslist.

Soon he may be able to check off the sex offender box as well. Guy is hitting for the cycle of crime ... or something. Eh, forget it. Enjoy prison.

Disgraced former baseball star Lenny Dykstra on Monday was sentenced to three years in a California state prison after pleading no contest to grand theft auto.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Ulfig sentenced Dykstra to hard time after refusing to allow the 49-year-old to withdraw his no contest plea.

Ulfig said the scam to lease cars from dealerships by providing fraudulent information and claiming credit through sham businesses showed sophisticated planning.

Dykstra has had a series of legal woes in a post-career downward spiral that has included a stint at a sober living facility and exposing himself to peeps on Craigslist.

In a rambling, impassioned plea for probation, Dykstra said he's tried to make amends for past transgressions and said he would be cleared of any wrongdoing.

"I'm doing everything in my power to be a better person," he said.

The judge wasn't buying it and denied his request to undo his plea of no contest. Dykstra, wearing a gray suit with a blue shirt, was remanded to custody.

Dykstra has earned nearly a year's worth of credit due to time already served. His defense attorney said Dykstra was singled out because he's a celebrity.

Dykstra initially pleaded not guilty to 25 counts after police arrested him and found cocaine, Ecstasy and synthetic human growth hormone at his home.

He changed his plea in October to no contest and in exchange prosecutors dropped 21 criminal counts ... but the big ones still earned him a trip to prison.

Already facing a host of felony embezzlement charges, former baseball star Lenny Dykstra has now been charged with indecent exposure, as well.

The allegation? Whipping out his junk for women he met on Craigslist.

According to officials, Len went to Craigslist posting ads for a personal assistant or housekeeping service, then pulled the ol' dong-bait-and-switch.

Lenny's nickname was "Nails." Insert bad joke here.

When the women arrived, Dykstra would "inform the women that the job also required them to give a massage and would expose himself to them."

Pretty standard procedure, isn't it? Did they not read the ad?

Dykstra, who's already in custody on federal and state charges for auto theft, identity theft, embezzlement from himself (our favorite) filing false statements, possession of cocaine and Ecstasy, and so on, could face even more jail time if convicted.

Sounds like someone needs a wang and a prayer.

Former MLB star Lenny Dykstra was just formally charged with multiple felonies this afternoon. We're talking 23 felony offenses for those keeping score.

The L.A. County D.A. is accusing Dykstra of auto theft, identity theft, filing false financial statements, possession of cocaine and Ecstasy, and so on.

The D.A. says police found coke, Ecstasy, as well as Somatropin - a synthetic human growth hormone - in the former ballplayer's home April 14.

Law enforcement sources report that it was a small amount of coke and Ecstasy for "personal use," not distribution. Phew, he's totally off the hook!

Charlie Sheen bailed him out after he was arrested following the search of his home. The Warlock may get another change to help out his friend.

Dykstra's accountant and a friend were also charged. All are set to be arraigned today, with the D.A. asking for bail set at $500,000 for each party.

If found guilty of all charges ... Dykstra faces up to 12 years in state prison. Oh, and he's ALSO under indictment for federal bankruptcy fraud.

That's from an entirely different, federal case. Just FYI.

For Len Dykstra, it pays to have friends in high places.

Emphasis on high. Charlie Sheen coughed up $22,500 to bail the former New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder out of jail yesterday.

Charged earlier with bankruptcy fraud, Dykstra was held on $150,000 bail for nearly a week until 15 percent of the bond amount was put up.

It turns out Sheen was the one who did the honors.

A Friend Indeed

Said Sheen of bailing out Lenny "Nails" Dykstra:

"The rendition guilty trolls that kidnapped my dear friend Nails clearly forgot that he's a fellow Vatican assassin and his best pal is a warlock."

Sheen and Dykstra are longtime friends. Len even hired a lawyer to negotiate the troubled actor's return to Two and a Half Men this spring.

As we saw two weekends ago when Dog the Bounty Hunter bailed out Nic Cage, a friend in need of a five-figure bond post is a friend indeed.

Former baseball all-star Lenny Dykstra was arrested last night after being targeted by federal agents for embezzling more than $400,000 ... from himself.

According to the U.S. Attorney in L.A. ... Lenny arrested by local authorities and later charged with one felony count of embezzling from a bankrupt estate.

Officials claim Dykstra, who filed for bankruptcy in 2009, "stole and destroyed more than $400,000 worth of property in the estate." That sounds illegal!

Who embezzles stuff from himself while under federal surveillance?

Dykstra is not legally allowed to sell off any of the items that make up the bankrupt estate. The property must only be used to pay off debts to creditors.

All transactions must be initiated by a court-appointed trustee. Needless to say, if law enforcement personnel are to be believed, that did not occur here.

According to the criminal complaint, Len loaded up a ton of his expensive personal items into a U-Haul truck and sold them to an L.A. consignment store.

Basically, he's shadier than Brooke Mueller at a pawn shop.
