Yes, Lena Dunham gets naked very often on the HBO hit Girls.

So one might think she's an unusual source for having such a strong opinion about the ongoing hacking scandal that has left the Internet littered with images of Kaley Cuoco nude, Jennifer Lawrence nude and many other female stars exposed.

But Dunham makes an important distinction in a new Twitter post that rails hard against the criminal at the center of this massive naked picture release.

"The way in which you share your body must be a CHOICE. Support these women and do not look at these pictures,” the 28-year-old writes.

“Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again. It’s not okay. Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they’re a sex offender."

Oops. Lena Dunham's bad.

Following a Saturday Night Live skit in which the Girls star appeared naked in a parody of Adam and Eve, a critic on Twitter told Dunham she doesn't "always have to get naked," to which the actress replied:

"Please tell that to my uncle, mister. He's been making me!"

Dunham recently stood by Dylan Farrow and defended sexual assault victims, making the joke even more surprising and off-key.

She acknowledged both these points via a follow-up apology.

Lena Dunham is standing up for Dylan Farrow and, by extension, sexual assault victims everywhere.

The stepdaughter of Woody Allen alleged in an open letter to The New York Times over the weekend that the famous director abused her as a child.

She claims he took her up to the family's attic and forced himself upon her multiple times.

The accusation has hit Hollywood hard, with Farrow calling out such big names as Alec Baldwin and Cate Blanchett for continuing to work with Allen, whose publicist has labeled this claim as disgraceful and untrue.

Now, Girls creator Dunham has taken to Twitter in response to those who believe Farrow, whose claims first surfaced back in 1992, is a liar.

Lena Dunham covers the latest issue of Vogue, marking the first time this writer/producer/actress has graced the front of a national fashion magazine.

Cause for celebration, right? Or cause for celebration, according to some.

In an attempt to defend Dunham as "a woman who trumpets body positivity, Jezelbel paid $10,000 to Vogue for the star's untouched images from her new spread.

The website received them… and then printed a couple of the photos in order to depict just how the publication edited Dunham's eyes, chin, cleavage and other areas. To wit:

In the end, writs Jezebel, Dunham's pics "were not drastically altered," but "it's important to remember how unforgiving the media is when it comes to images of women."

About a week ago, Howard Stern ranted that Lena Dunham was fat and watching her engaged in sex scenes was akin to rape.

He then apologized for the diatribe and the Girls star even called in to Stern's radio show on Wednesday and the beef was squashed.

But did a joke by Dunham inadvertently create a new one?

Defending her body type, the actress said: "I'm not super-thin, but I'm thin for, like, Detroit."

She stars on Girls and now Lena Dunham is facing criticism for setting a bad example for actual girls across the country.

Not long after the Emmy nominee released an ad in favor of Barack Obama - in which she talked about how one's "first time" [voting] should be with a "a great guy... someone who really cares about and understands women" - some on the Right have fired back against Dunham.

And it's gotten personal.

"Lena Dunham allows herself to be used in this cheap, last minute attempt to be the first for young women," writes RedState.com "Dunham, who was raised in a wealthy, over-sexualized household and who started therapy at age 7 must somewhat be forgiven for her role; she seems to have a thing for talking about her first time, the Obama administration was just happy to oblige."
