About that shocking Glee casting announcement...

Following weeks of message board activity and outrage from fans, Glee producer Brad Falchuck cleared up his show's plans for Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer today, telling a packed Hall H at Comic-Con:

“Here’s the exact thing: [Rachel, Kurt and Finn] are seniors, so they’re graduating, but because they’re graduating doesn’t mean they’re leaving the show," he said. "If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don’t say, ‘We’re gonna let you go.’ They are not done with the show after this season.”

Not all is sunny on the casting front, though: Falchuck did confirm that Chord Overstreet will not return. At all. He was offered a 10-episode deal, but chose to pursue other options instead.

“We wanted him back because we like Chord personally and had some good stories planned for him and with Mercedes," the co-creator said. "He decided he would have opportunities elsewhere that he would like to pursue, and we can’t force him to work, so we wished him well.”

Chris Colfer woke up today to contrasting news: he's an Emmy nominee... and he's on his way out of the show that earned him that title.

Expressing shock over the latter, the young star spoke to TV Line about the latter development and said the following of Ryan Murphy's decision to graduate those who will be playing seniors on season three of Glee:

"It’s definitely not my choice. But I completely understand that it works for the integrity of the show. One of the things that I love about Glee is, despite characters breaking into song in the middle of the hallway, it was very real to me. It always seemed like a very real high school environment. And I think by having some characters graduate, they’ll continue having that element."

Michele, meanwhile, has also Tweeted a response to the news. A force on Broadway before she arrived on Fox, the actress will have plenty of opportunities ahead and wrote:

“We always knew we’d graduate in real time. It’s all part of the plan and it’s all good! It’s going to make Season 3 amazing!!! To Gleeks everywhere, you’re in my heart now and forever. Love u all!!! This is just the beginning!!”

Will you keep watching Glee after Michele, Colfer and Cory Monteith leave?

In the face of parental criticism, Cosmopolitan is standing behind Lea Michele and its latest cover shot.

A few days after the Glee star posed in a low cut dress for the publication, Fox News spoke to a handful of mothers who (somehow) criticized the magazine and the actress for showing poor taste.

Now, editors have released a simple statement that reads: We're thrilled to feature Lea Michele on the March cover of Cosmopolitan magazine and think she looks stunning. Michele is a grown woman and Cosmopolitan is a magazine for adults.

That does pretty much sum it up. Michele is 24 years old, after all. Perhaps parents can use this as an opportunity to explain the differences between fictional characters and real life.

Do you think the spread is inappropriate?

Lea Michele stepped to the microphone prior to Super Bowl XLV last night and avoided all controversy.

She didn't forget the lyrics to a patriotic classic, nor did she wear a top conservatives could deem as "irresponsible."

Instead, the actress simply reminded us all why she earned such praise on Broadway and why she anchors one of the most popular shows on TV: an incredible singing voice. Listen to it shine on "America the Beautiful" now:

For the second time in a few months, Lea Michele has come under fire for posing in a national magazine.

In October, the actress and a couple Glee co-stars posed provocatively in GQ, a spread that caused such uproar the PTC (ridiculously) compared it to child pornography.

Now, Michele appears on the cover of Cosmopolitan in a dress that - gasp!!! - doesn't cover every inch of her torso.

In response, a few critics have turned to Fox News and expressed disappointment in Michele and the publication.

“I think Lea Michele is sending the wrong message. She plays such a ‘good girl’ on Glee and a lot of kids look up to her persona. Then, she poses very provocatively on two magazine covers, which makes my almost-13-year-old son very confused and offended,” said Kim Trefcer.

The 2011 SAG Awards was filled with Oscar winners, Emmy winners, well-respected producers, directors, writers...

... and Kim Kardashian.

Despite the lack of a category for Most Successful Professional Celebrity, Kim showed up on the red carpet of this event last night, seeming more out of place than Charlie Sheen would in church.

Did she at least look good? You tell us, as Kardashian is matched against Glee star Lea Michele in the following Fashion Face-Off. For the former's sake, let's hope readers don't vote on talent alone.

Two beautiful singers. One red carpet.

Both Lea Michele and Carrie Underwood - gorgeous women whose voice helped them rise to fame on a Fox program - walked the red carpet of last night's Golden Globe Awards, each donning a long, flowing dress.

The former cried on multiple occasions during the ceremony, first when co-star Chris Colfer won and then when Glee was named Best Comedy/Musical. Will she shed tears of joy over a victory in this Fashion Face-Off? Only if you cast your vote in Lea's direction...

In some shape or form, Justin Bieber is coming to Glee.

But while star Lea Michele might be excited for that episode, she's more focused on the appearance of an older singer on the Fox hit. Responding to rumors that Susan Boyle might cameo, Michele recently said:

"It would be so incredible to sing with her... She had a hidden talent, which was then discovered, which is what happened to so many of us from Glee. Look at Amber Riley and Chris Colfer. They're incredible and thanks to Glee the world gets to see them.

In an interview that will air today on the TV Guide Network, Boyle sat across from Piers Morgan and answered a number of questions. Glee did not come up, but check out the conversation above.

In the ad below, Lea Michele tries something revolutionary.

Campaigning on behalf of PETA, the actress doesn't get naked or focus on some broad, unattainable goal such as making the world vegetarian.

Instead, she talks honestly and rationally about the treatment of the animals in charge of horse-drawn carriages. Says the Glee cast members:

"Imagine for a moment that you're forced to do hard physical labor all day, seven days a week - whether it's sweltering hot or freezing cold outside. At the end of the day, instead of relaxing on [an] easy chair or sleeping in a comfortable bed, you are locked in a tiny closet all night long."

It's hard to argue with the points Lea makes in the video above, isn't it?
