“They called me “reality show talent” and I’m like, ‘What’s my talent?’” deadpans the budding fashion designer and author, who also denies she's sexy.

“I’m not a sexy person. I’m OK with it. I’ve never been a sexy girl," she says. "Whenever I’ve had a boyfriend, he’s always been like, ‘Oh, you’re cute.”

Okay maybe. But we'd say ridiculously cute at least ...

These days, she's over The Hills and is content living a private life as a successful businesswoman, designing clothes for Kohl's and her new line, Paper Crown.

More than ever, LC's trying hard to keep her romantic relationship (with actor Kyle Howard) off-camera. For that, we can only respect Lauren Conrad more.

Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad are so in a fight. Unfortunately, it was not caught on tape, nor does is it involve any pajamas and pillows.

Though close pals on The Hills, the two have gone their separate ways.

Why!?! "Whitney is upset because she thinks that The City was canceled to make room for Lauren's new reality show," a source tells Us.

"Whitney feels like she got the shaft," from LC, insiders say.

If that's true, it's ironic, as Conrad's latest MTV reality venture was scrapped as well after the network deemed it too high brow for its current lineup.

Basically, Jersey Shore brings in the ratings and the network thinks the former Hills duo is apparently too boring, or at least their fashion careers are.

Either way, Whit skipped Lauren's birthday party. Make of that what you will!

Last fall, MTV decided to bring back The Hills and Laguna Beach star Lauren Conrad for a new reality series focused on the young star’s burgeoning fashion line.

Yesterday, in a bit of a surprise, Conrad's series was passed on by the network.

“We decided not to go ahead with the show,” Head of Programming David Janollari said. "It was a great attempt but just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for us."

Lauren Conrad personally explained why that is in a statement to EW ...

“We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life."

"We agreed going in that this would be an aspirational show, focusing on my career and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it.”

Conrad says the series was more a documentary than a glossy soap like The Hills. Interesting that she walked, rather than put her personal life back on display.

Basically, Jersey Shore is the new MTV flagship and this didn't fit the bill. Are you disappointed they nixed LC's show? Or did it sound boring anyway?

There's a rumor going around that Lauren Conrad is engaged to longtime love Kyle Howard. The star's reps have already come out and denied this. It's not true.

It is her 25th birthday today, however. Happy birthday, LC!

While she became famous because MTV's Laguna Beach and The Hills, the California girl is a bit of an anomaly, seeking LESS attention and bowing out on her terms.

Choosing to focus on her personal life and branch out career-wise, Lauren left the show that made her a star and has lived largely under the radar for 18 months.

She did top the N.Y. Times Bestseller List and boost her credentials as a celebrity fashion designer, though, and may return to reality TV soon in some capacity.

When she does, it will again be on her terms.

Audrina Patridge's drunk mom tried to start $h!t, but Lauren Conrad says she's not in competition with Audrina. There's room for two reality shows to coexist!

There's been no comment from Audrina on her mom's drunken rant (for which she later apologized), during which Lynn Patridge called The Hills girls "tramps."

Regarding her new reality show, Lynn said her daughter would fare better than Lauren Conrad, whom she called a "b!tch" who does "frilly fashion $h!t."

Lauren Conrad says it's all good with Audrina.

Lauren doesn't see eye-to-eye with Lynn, fortunately, saying there's no bad blood whatsoever and that she doesn't view Audrina Patridge as competition.

LC's new reality show is also coming out soon.

Asked on Monday about Audrina's newly-picked up VH1 show, Conrad told Us, "I think it's good for her. And no, I really don't think about it like that at all."

Regarding the rant itself, LC smiled and said, "I really don't have a comment on that right now, thanks." Good to see someone knows how to keep it classy.

When it comes to good looks and good style, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and The Hills' former leading lady Lauren Conrad are generally lauded.
