LaLa Vazquez is close friends with Kim Kardashian and... that's pretty much the only reason she makes news these days.

Therefore, the reality star's engagement is almost as exciting for the former MTV veejay as it is for Kim. It gives her a chance to make headlines again.

“She’s so happy right now to be engaged, and look forward to the wedding," Vazquez tells OK! Weekly. "I’m just letting her live in that moment right now, and we’re all so happy for her.”

As for the wedding, which may take place before the summer is over?

"We haven’t started talking about preparations just yet," LaLa said. "I’m sure her’s is going to be fabulous, and we’re really, really looking forward to it.”

So is the E! network. Cha-ching!

Lala Vazquez is nothing but supportive of good friend Kim Kardashian. To an almost laughable extent.

Asked by E! News about her pal's rumored new boy toy, New Jersey Nets power forward Kris Humphries, Vasquez - who is married to pro basketball star Carmelo Anthony - said:

"All the NBA guys are good guys and my friends. I just want my friend to be happy, whoever it is."

That sentiment is sweet, but her next comment regarding Kim is closer to delusional.

Vasquez says she's "very impressed with [Kim's] voice" and actually looking forward to an album from this talentless reality star.

LaLa Vazquez has come a long way since her days as a MTV VJ.

She's now happily married to NBA star Carmelo Anthony and will soon be starring on a reality show. Vasquez spoke to THG this week about the series, another famous basketball player and more. Excerpts from the interview are below:

Tell us about your reality show.
It premieres December 19 on VH1. It’s following me on my journey before I get married. You get to see what any woman goes through before a wedding, whether it's self-esteem issues or trying to lose weight, or do I really want to do it. And then actually planning with me and my friends, who happen to be celebrities like Tyrese, Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Ludacris...  going on this journey with me and offering me advice and taking me through it. Kelly and Kim throw me a bachelorette party, and I go to Ludacris with some concerns and ask him for male perspective. You get to see all of these dynamics while planning this huge, crazy wedding.

It's (finally) official! After a five-year engagement, actress/MTV VJ LaLa Vazquez and NBA star Carmelo Anthony married in New York City Saturday night.

Adorably, their 3-year-old son, Kiyan, escorted them to the altar.

About 320 people, including pals Kim Kardashian and Ciara, were on hand to watch LaLa walk down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown, adorned with flowers.

Carmelo proposed in 2005 with an 8-carat cushion-cut diamond, but later added 2 1/2-more carats with two matching wedding bands, worth $200,000.

"They are ready to party!" Kevin Osbourne, who led the band that played during dinner, said. "A lot of soul and R&B. Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder."

DJ Clue was also scheduled to spin.

Congratulations to Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez!

In the run-up to the big day, LaLa Vazquez joked that wedding planning was wearing her out, even though planner Mindy Weiss was handing the details.

"I'm seeing the pre-wedding stress increase... The guest list went from this to that [indicating larger]. I'm trying to control it. It's, like, over the top now!"

Glad it worked out. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez are still engaged. Phew.

Going on five-plus years now, he's learned a few things about engagements, such as let the bride handle most details of their wedding – except for a few.

"I just care about the food and the music, that's it," the NBA star told People, celebrating his 26th birthday with his fiancée at Philippe in W. Hollywood.

While he has yet to choose specific songs, the Denver Nuggets forward wants "some great music for dancing," and is also requesting red velvet cake.

The red is part of a grander idea: "We don't really have a theme yet," says former MTV veejay LaLa Vazquez, "but Melo is just certain that he wants red."

It seems to work well with the man ...

LaLa Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony are getting married next month.

Of course, having a wedding planner who "does everything and makes it so easy" takes the heat off LaLa. "[It's] like no pressure whatsoever," she said.

The actress has picked out a Vera Wang gown and is working out with celeb trainer Gunnar Peterson "every single day" for the nuptials, set for July 10.

What it means [is] having that one day to just be together and have a good time," she says. "I think we're fun people, so the vibe is going to be fun." 

Especially now that LaLa's hair grew back. That would have been interesting. The couple has a son, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, born on March 7, 2007.

This isn't exactly breaking news, nor is it the most exciting celebrity gossip story you'll read today.

But don't blame us. Blame Kim Kardashian.

If the reality TV star would go back to making sex tapes, or posing nude in Playboy, we could report on something other than the fact that her and LaLa Vazquez went shopping in Beverly Hills this week.

Alas, this is all we have at the moment. Even Kim herself seems bored by this activity, as she's seemingly telling a photographer, in the shot below, that there are more interesting things to snap pictures of than her jaunt across the street:

Cassie who?

The last time we heard from LaLa Vazquez (otherwise referred to as simply LaLa), her ass got thrown out of her "fiance" Carmelo Anthony's NBA playoff game in Dallas after a pointed altercation with fans in the stands.

Well, the VH1, MTV personality, actress and former radio DJ is back in the news again after another sharp exchange - this time with a pair of clippers.

That's right, LaLa debuted her new haircut today via Twitter.

You could say it's a remix, as it's similar to Cassie's shaved head, which you'll recall caused a bit of a stir (though not as much as her nude pics) in April.

Even though LaLa didn’t get as drastic as Cassie with the clippers, she added her own touch to the look. Take a gander below and see what you think ...

LaLa Vazquez, or just "La La" to some, has had a distinguished career as a DJ, reality TV host, and playing herself in any movie that will have her.

In pro basketball circles, she is also known as the fiancee of Carmelo Anthony, star of the surging Denver Nuggets, which brings us to this article.

With her husband's team in Dallas taking on the Mavericks, LaLa was ejected after an unspecified "incident" with some old ladies sitting behind her.

Footage taken at the game last night showed LaLa cursing and getting rather hostile as security guards tried to escort her out of the stands ...

LaLa Vazquez Gets in Fight at Nuggets-Mavs Game

Today, LaLa released a statement claiming racial taunts and violent threats from Dallas fans started the altercation that became the talk of the game:

"Obviously playoff games bring out the best and the worst in fans but what happened on Monday night with the racial slurs / threats, verbal attacks on my son and physical attacks to myself by irate fans was completely unacceptable."

"The fans were totally out of control. What the cameras captured was me defending myself and didn't show the abuse that was taking place."

LaLa Vazquez, ironically, is a judge on VH1's Charm School.

The Mavs and Nuggets are set to face off again tomorrow night.
