The Voice coach and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine has never been one to mince words, but his surprise Twitter feud with Lady Gaga was, well, surprising.

He recently tweeted about an unidentified artist: "Ugh… recycling old art for a younger generation doesn't make you an artist. It makes you an art teacher."

"I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That's It. It doesn't need any extra sauce."

Lady Gaga, presuming this was about her, responded:

"uh oh guys the art police is here."

Azealia Banks is coming for Lady Gaga. Again.

Previously, Banks said Gaga aped her mermaid look for the 2013 iTunes Festival. This time, the rapper insists Gaga stole the song "Red Flame" from her.

She's calling out the ARTPOP icon on Twitter:

Azealia Banks and Lady Gaga

"@ladygaga make sure u let them know where u got the title for red flame from. U stole that from the demo I sent u," she tweeted earlier this week. "Life is great."

"You can have it. Plenty more where that came from."

"Seriously ... This one is free. Next time I'm charging."

Banks, two-word, hilarious parting shot? "Team Katy."

Lady Gaga took to the GMA stage this morning for a spirited performance of her new hit "Applause" ... while dressed as sexy Wizard of Oz characters.

Gaga as Dorothy, Glinda and The Wicked Witch Of The West? Done, done and done, without the pop superstar missing a beat or leaving the stage.

Behold, GAGA of OZ:

The singer hinted Friday, “I will Be LIVE on @GMA this Monday Morning Sept. 9 performing APPLAUSE in a ‘GAGA of OZ’ theatrical rendition.”

She didn't disappoint based on those expectations?

The over-the-top Lady Gaga "Applause" music video also debuted on Good Morning America recently, while her album ARTPOP comes out November 11.

What do you think of her new hit single?

Lady Gaga kicked off the month-long iTunes Festival yesterday with live, theatrical performances of seven songs from her upcoming album ARTPOP.

The highly anticipated Gaga show included the debut of "Jewels & Drugs," a trap-like tune featuring rappers T.I. (via satellite), Too $hort and Twista:

As if her opening set at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards wasn't proof enough, Mother Monster made sure the world knew she was back on Sunday.

While "Jewels & Drugs" saw Lady Gaga dip into her previously unheard rap diva mode, the throbbing pop of "Sex Dreams" felt a bit more familiar.

As she crooned about sharing her most intimate, detailed nighttime desires, she took off her wig and revealed the woman behind all the disguises.

Gaga encouraged her fans to do the same. "I knew I had to show you what's underneath all of the theater," said the pop superstar, a natural brunette.

Check out her "Sex Dreams" and "ARTPOP" performances after the jump ...

Lady Gaga has offered her Little Monsters a sneak preview of her new song "Swine" as she rehearsed for the iTunes Festival in London Sunday.

Gaga tweeted the link to a video of her singing, playing the drums and playing the keyboard on her official YouTube page. Check it out right here:

"I know you want me. You're just a pig in a human's body," the 27-year-old croons in one lyric. "Squealer, squealer, squeal out! You're so disgusting."

"You're just a pig inside. Swine."

If she were Taylor Swift, we'd immediately be guessing who she could be talking about. Okay, we still are, but the options are less obvious and numerous.

Notably absent in 2012, Lady Gaga made a grand return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage Sunday night when she opened the show with "Applause."

While wearing a giant block on her head. And a plethora of wigs.

Lady Gaga's VMA performance began with her face filling the entirety of the screen as a blockhead. See above. Many coiffure changes soon followed.

The singer shed the first headpiece for a lopsided white wig, then a yellow postiche, and then a long blonde mane more reminiscent of vintage Gaga.

While certainly eye-opening, Gaga ended up a bit overshadowed by Miley Cyrus VMA performances and Katy Perry's "Roar", which closed the show.

Unfamiliar territory for Mother Monster, but on top of reports that she's trying way too hard to get people to buy the song, some wonder if she's peaked.

You tell us: What do you think of Lady Gaga's "Applause"?

The Kia hamsters are back! And more dapper than ever!

And sleeker, sexier and more sophisticated than ever ... not unlike the car they want you to buy, the 2014 Soul. At least that's the hook of the ad (presumably).

Formerly frumpy, the Kia Hamsters are turning themselves into leaner, meaner, head-turning machines. And when they roll up in their Soul, peeps take heed.

Watch as the adorable trio, whose previous TV spots have featured "Black Sheep" and LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem"  hit the gym and shed their furry folds.

Their workout song of choice? Lady Gaga's "Applause".

They LIVE for it. Just like Mother Monster. Watch:

Lady Gaga is raising eyebrows after encouraging questionable practices to push her new song "Applause" to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Last week, the Mother Monster held a contest in which she urged fans to buy multiple digital copies of "Applause," with the chance to meet her.

Some of her more insane fans went to great lengths to win that honor, but the singer wasn't done there, continuing to push the video on YouTube.

Self-promotion is standard, but Gaga Tweeted a link allowing users to watch the "Applause" 150 times in a row, drawing the attention of Billboard.

Billboard's Bill Werde took issue with this seemingly cheap tactic to rack up BS video views, taking to Twitter to speak out against the practice:

The Lady Gaga "Applause" music video has been viewed 5,604,997 times in its first 22 hours of release ... and surely many more by the time you read this.

The first Lady Gaga music video in two years, "Applause" was the talk of the Internet Monday, even as Katy Perry's "Roar" outsells the track on iTunes.

By more than a 2:1 margin, according to some estimates.

"Applause," the first new track song from her upcoming album, ARTPOP, is likely to be performed live this weekend at the MTV Video Music Awards.

That should only further drive views of the video, which is very artistic, a combination of art noir and ... whatever you'd call a smiling Lady Gaga nude.

What do you think of her latest effort? Tell us below:

Katy Perry's "Roar" has won the battle of the new hit pop singles, at least in their opening week, outpacing Lady Gaga's latest release, "Applause."

Perry is a champion, as proclaimed, and her fans' collective "Roar" has propelled her to more than 525,000 downloads of her latest mega-single.

Somewhere, Perez Hilton is celebrating so hard.

That's compared to an estimated 200,000 to 225,000 sales expected for Lady Gaga, Billboard reports. So is "Applause" more like a slow clap?

The release of today's Lady Gaga "Applause" music video might help her cause ("Roar" doesn't have one yet), but for now, Katy is winning big time.

Maybe Little Monsters didn't satisfy (people, or expectations).
