Lady Gaga MTV Video Music Awards

Lady Gaga certainly did not leave anything in the bag in her bid to become Jo Calderone at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles Sunday.

The pop star didn't just wear men's clothing and fake stubble. Lady Gaga took dressing in drag to the extreme, wearing a prosthetic penis, even.

Seriously, she was. Talk about getting into character.

Perhaps that was the impetus behind the revelation that Gaga/Jo used to pleasure himself to Britney Spears when he was a kid. He/she didn't say.

"I am from New Jersey," Jo Calderone said. "My family is from Palermo, Sicily. I'm not a singer or a model or an actor or anything. I am just a guy."

A guy who always keeps things interesting, for sure.

Hey, Lady Gaga is just calling it like she sees it. Or at least like Jo Calderone, her male alter ego who performed at the MTV VMAs last night, sees it.

Jo put on quite the show on stage, but also in the press room, where he weighed in with some, um, interesting remarks about Britney Spears.

Asked if he would hook up with Britney, Calderone said this ...

"Well, maybe if she wants to, you know what I'm saying ... She is f--king hot. Britney's f--king hot. I don't know. Gaga is my girl, but Britney's f--king hot - this is f--king Britney Spears! Didn't you jerk off to Britney when you were a kid?"

Okay then.

Talk about a matchup made in celebrity fashion heaven.

Lady Gaga's performance as Jo Calderone wasn't the last we saw of her male alter ego at the MTV Video Music Awards. She showed up at Sunday's event in character and continued to channel Jo at an after party following the show!

Topping last year's meat dress wasn't easy, but she may have managed it in her understated drag. That is way too convincing. Gaga may have even outshone Nicki Minaj - not an easy feat - for wildest couture choice of the night.

Little Monsters already know Jo Calderone is Lady Gaga's alter ego. What they didn't know before last night's Video Music Awards is that the two were an item!

"My name is Jo Calderone," the 25-year-old said, showing up in drag as part of her wild, extended pre-performance monologue. "Lady Gaga? She left me!"

Fully committed to the character for several minutes, smoking a cigarette as he/she addressing the crowd, "Jo" grew more and more animated ...

"[Lady Gaga] is f**king crazy!" he/she said. "For example, she gets out of the bed, puts on the heels. She comes out of the bathroom dripping wet and she's still got the heels on ... And what's with the hair?

"At first it was sexy, but now I'm just confused. I think it's really f**king great that she's such a star and all ... but how am I supposed to shine?"

There you go. Finally, Lady Gaga sat down and belted out a soulful rendition of "You and I." Brian May from Queen came on stage and joined her.

Lady Gaga's performance in a promo for the MTV VMAs next weekend - an event she will be performing at - comes as no surprise to fans of the singer.

The 25-year-old superstar multitasks nicely as she strips off a black bra for no real reason while performing a jazzy version of her latest hit, "You & I."

Sporting black trousers and long platinum blonde hair, the Lady sings alongside a jazz band for the clip to promote the August 28 awards program.

Grand piano? Check. Freedom from constraining undergarments? Check.

In the black and white video, she ends her striptease modestly, covering herself with a song sheet as she looks into a camera in the middle of an MTV logo.

There's no way the hardest working woman in showbiz would miss one of the biggest night's in showbiz. Little Monsters everywhere can rejoice, because Lady Gaga will be performing at the upcoming 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Gaga joins a VMA roster that already includes Adele, Lil Wayne, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown and Young the Giant. The 2011 VMAs will air August 28.

Gaga unexpectedly unleashed the mind-blowing six-minute "You and I" music video Tuesday via Twitter. The video makes its TV debut tonight at 7:49 p.m. on MTV.

"You and I" is the fourth single to be released from Born This Way.

In addition to performing, Lady Gaga is nominated for four Moonmen at the VMAs: Best Female Video ("Born This Way"), Best Art Direction ("Judas"), Best Choreography ("Judas") and Best Video With a Message ("Born This Way").

How will Lady Gaga's meat dress at last year's VMAs ever be topped?

Yes, we're serious. The singer's camp has not confirmed if she'll wear it - what would a Gaga entrance be without suspense - but the outrageous getup is already being crafted with her MTV Video Music Awards appearance in mind.

PigofTheMonth (dot) com, an onle retailer of BBQ meats and sauces, has offered Gaga FIVE HUNDRED GRAND to wear a yet-to-be-seen bone dress.

The Ohio-based company has teamed up with a well-known fashion designer who has shown in New York, London and Paris to cook up the couture.

Plans would also include using gourmet barbeque sauces accessories and makeup to accompany the skeletal contents. Sounds ... rather elaborate.

"We won't reveal the number of bones that it includes just yet," PigofTheMonth CEO Lea Richards says, adding that it weighs a modest 12 pounds.

Even by Lady Gaga standards, the meat dress she wore at the MTV VMAs was a bit of a fashion risk. She looked pretty tasty, though ... in more ways than one.

At first glance, she looked fairly unassuming when she accepted the award for Video of the Year (one of eight she won on the night). But when you look closely ...

You can expect Lady Gaga will be grilled over this fashion choice.

The "Bad Romance" singer explained the outrageous, juicy getup as such:

“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian, because as you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth."

"However, it has many interpretations. For me this evening, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”
