There are so many rumors surrounding Lady Gaga, it's hard to take any of them seriously ... although she's so out there, sometimes it makes you wonder.

Lest we forget the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite story last summer. Talk about serious legs. In fact, there are still people convinced this urban myth is legit.

Gaga: Born This Way

Still, the rumor going around that the singer had a leg amputated below the knee, apparently because she wanted to look different, seems far fetched.

Until she confirms it in a sit-down with Barbara Walters, we're going to put it in the false category. Although whoever started it gets props for creativity.

"I just had this much leg amputated ..."

As the rumor goes, Gaga had a cosmetic amputation surgery and before long, she will personally make the announcement to fans ... or unveil it in avideo.

Depends which version of the rumor you read, we suppose.

While Lady Gaga's fashion sense is as wild as it gets, and we can see some amputation-themed live performance of some kind, this has gotta be a hoax.

Being different is one thing. Hacking off a limb is quite another. Who would want that? And what kind of doctor, save Conrad Murray, would agree to do it?

Time Magazine has come out with its annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people.

It's divided into four categories (Leaders, Heroes, Thinkers and Artists), although we have no idea how Sarah Palin ended up in the number-nine slot as a "Leader." What does she lead, exactly? Whatever organization pays her the most money to speak at its event?

But anyway.

Lady GaGa is considered the most influential artist on the planet, with Conan O'Brien ranking second. Also in the top 10: Oprah, Taylor Swift and Robert Pattinson.

So Very Influential
Prince Pic

The magazine spoke to a number of people closely associated to these celebrities and received the following takes on them:

Cyndi Lauper on Lady GaGa: Lady Gaga's art captures the period we're in right now. She isn't a pop act, she is a performance artist. She herself is the art. She is the sculpture.

George Lopez on Conan O'Brien: Conan's tenacity and wit have been an inspiration to me on my own late-night show. I'm happy and proud that we'll be playing on the same team when he comes to basic cable.

Chris Weitz on Robert Pattinson: Rob is a reserved, bookish sort of specimen, a guy who'd rather spend the night at the corner table in the pub with friends — a bit of a weirdo, frankly, in the best sense.

Singing sensation, sex symbol, rumored hermaphrodite ... and celibacy advocate?

If you've seen her music or seen any Lady Gaga pictures, you know about her racy, sexually-charged songs and outfits. But the star says she's celibate.

Come on ... really? Really.

"I can’t believe I’m saying this – don’t have sex," Lady Gaga told the UK's Daily Mail while discussing her role in Mac’s Viva Glam campaign, which supports global HIV and AIDS projects. "I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single."

"Because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody," she said. "So it’s OK not to have sex, it’s OK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine."

Celibacy is something Lady Gaga wants "to celebrate" with her fans.

"It’s OK to be whomever it is that you want to be," she said. "You don’t have to have sex to feel good about yourself. If you’re not ready, don’t do it. If you are ready, there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you’re leaving!"

She's a real humanitarian.

The important thing, Lady Gaga said, is to be true to yourself: "I remember the cool girls when I was growing up. Everyone started to have sex. But it’s not really cool any more to have sex all the time. It’s cooler to be strong and independent."

Unlike Bristol Palin, she practices what she preaches.

Says she's proud to be a role model, too. "When you’re in the public eye, you’re a role model whether you want to be or not. I want to be. I’m not one of those self-obsessed artists who don’t care about their fans. It’s not just about the music."

Gaga said she has a "responsibility" to fans and that "and you’re an idiot if you don’t know that." Wow, is this girl surprisingly grounded and smart or what?

A wise person somewhere once said that Twitter was more or less invented for narcissistic stars to post topless photos of themselves. And we're all for it.

It's fitting, in a way, that Lady Gaga took to the social media venue to get naked too, since every other time we see her, we talk about her outrageous outfits.

Lady Gaga Motivational Poster

Might as well shake things up and show us Lady Gaga topless!

The real reason for the pic? Celebrating her 24th birthday. Here she is holding a "communist-red teacup" that she declared the "perfect Birthday gift."

She also Tweets: "Last words are for fools who haven't." Sp think about that. Let it marinate. There's no way you're even still reading this, right? Hello?

NOTE: Click here to follow THG on Twitter ... although you won't find any topless photos of our interns. At least not that we're aware of. You never can tell.

Before Lady Gaga was a crustacean wearing, Fame Monster warbling, trend-setting, label-defying pop music tour de force, she was just another little girl in Manhattan.

Nowadays, a certain element of mystery is a huge part of Gaga, "the recession-age, downmarket, satirist-wannabe Britney Spears, and who is channeling no less than Madonna, patron saint of glitter, media manipulation, and Britspeak."

The end result "makes even Katy Perry look childish and even Christina Aguilera (with all her writhing and stage wrangling) couldn’t even begin to match Gaga’s ability to eyebrow raise." Back in the day, though, it all began like this:

Little Gaga

Vintage Lady Gaga: The Stefani Germanotta days.

When the photo above was taken, she was probably told not to eat candy too close to bedtime. In New York Magazine's feature story on her Gaga, conducted the interview using a “robot voice” while proclaiming singers shouldn’t eat ... at all.

Oh, how times change. One day, you're at a private high school for girls. The next, you're known across the world and Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumors pop up.

Somehow we think she'll take it.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, turns 24 today. THG is happy to send warm birthday greetings to one of our favorite celebrities!

Why is Lady Gaga one of our favorite celebs? Because the outrageous fashion, shocking live performances and hermaphrodite rumors are just part of her appeal.

Not only is she one of the most original and talented performers out there today, she is remarkably well-spoken in interviews and deadly serious about her craft.

Yes, outrageous getups and controversial concerts generate buzz, but they alone don't make you a multi-platinum star bordering on icon status. This Lady rules.

Lady Gaga is used to fending off those hermaphrodite rumors.

Exhaustion rumors, though? That's a different thing altogether.

Sad Gaga

Days after crumpling to the floor in the midst of a New Zealand concert, Lady Gaga explained her alarming performance simply: "I was so jet lagged," she said.

She told the Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O that she's hurting, and "I passed out about three times on stage that night but I got myself to the floor."

"I'd rather die on stage than walk off because I was going to pass out."

Are the pressures of fame taking a toll on Lady Gaga?

This isn't the first time that Gaga's whirlwind rise to superstardom has taken its toll. Back in January, she was forced to cancel several shows, citing exhaustion.

One source fears that the pop star is suffering from the stress of her staggering fame: "She's on the verge of tipping," says the source. "She's only human."

Not only human, but both a man and a woman, we heard!

Still, the singer insisted that she's feeling "completely rejuvenated and excited." We're psyched, because that means more Lady Gaga pictures like these.

Rob Fusari, a songwriter, music producer and ex-boyfriend of Lady Gaga,  is suing the singer for $30.5 million, claiming she owes him that much in royalties.

He filed his lawsuit in a Manhattan court on Wednesday.

In court papers, Fusari describes how he took notice of the quirky singer and "saw a star" when she first sang in his New Jersey studio back in March 2006.

Fusari says that over the course of several months, he worked with her daily and "radically reshaped her approach," co-writing some songs on her album.

"Paparazzi" and "Beautiful Dirty Rich" are among those songs he claims he worked on, and, he says even suggested she adapt the stage name Lady Gaga.

Granny Panty Style

Can Rob Fusari claim credit for those panties too?

The pop star herself claimed in a 2009 interview that she came up with the Lady Gaga persona about "five years ago, but Gaga's always been who I am."

The collaborators became romantic around May 2006 and created a joint business venture to promote her, in which Fusari would get 20 percent of profits.

He says he scored her a record deal with Universal Music Group's Interscope Records, and as a result, The Fame has sold over three million records to date.

He did not claim credit for planting the hermaphrodite rumors.

Although Fusari has a producing credit on the Grammy-winning album, he says he's owned 20 percent of song royalties and 15 from merchandising revenue.

"All business is personal," the filing by the producer reads, noting that his business relationship with Gaga deteriorated after their personal one fell apart.

Fox's hit show Glee has been off the air since December, but when it returns next month, it will make up for lost time with a tribute to the great Lady Gaga.

Creator Ryan Murphy said, "We're doing an episode as a tribute to theatricality. We reached out to Lady Gaga and she said, 'Yes, I'd love to be a part of it.'

"So yes, we will be doing Lady Gaga this season."

We can only hope for a full-length cover of her "Telephone" video, complete with ridiculous costumes and references to her alleged hermaphrodite status.

Lady Gaga in Action Live

Glee has its work cut out to do this justice!

Whether that means you'll see Lady Gaga on Glee personally is unclear, but at the very least, the show will be basing an episode around the "Bad Romance" songstress.

Last year, Gaga was the subject of an entire episode of Gossip Girl, and helped craft an "epic performance art piece" for the series. So you never know what's in store.

Madonna famously gave Glee license to cover her entire catalog, and the hit show is so sought after by aspiring singers, some American Idol vets are getting negged.

Not everyone's game, though. Coldplay and Bryan Adams said no to having their songs covered on it. Because Bryan Adams has an impeccable reputation to protect?

The music video for Lady Gaga's "Telephone," featuring a fierce Beyoncé, a somewhat nude Gaga and directed by Jonas Akerlund), has premiered amid great hype.

It might even live up to it.

As she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show just last month, "What I like about it is, it's a real true pop event. When I was younger I was always excited when there was a big giant event happening in pop music and that's what I wanted this to be."

Lady Gaga gets tossed in the slammer in "Telephone."

Pretty bold praise for her own work, but "Telephone" definitely has the feel of - in typical Lady Gaga fashion - a performance art piece, rather than a mere video.

Perhaps the best part? At the onset, Gaga is strip searched and tossed in a jail cell. In a funny reference to the hermaphrodite rumors about her, a guard says:

"Told you she didn't have a d!ck."

That's before the music even commences, too. "Telephone" may not be as epic as "Bad Romance," but you have to give Gaga credit, because it's darn close.
