If there were any doubt that Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" was inspired by Madonna's "Express Yourself," well, this remix should clear those doubts up.

Not that it matters, of course. Madonna supports the song and Gaga couldn't be more adamant about her adoration of the Queen of Pop. There's no feud.

It is interesting to note just how alike the two hits are, however.

Whether it's a blatant rip-off by Gaga or homage to Madge, the similarities are even greater than you might think when the tracks overlaying like this:

Is "Born This Way" a Madonna ripoff?

Lady Gaga has been accused of ripping off Madonna with her newest single, "Born This Way." On the Tonight Show last night, she didn't really refute this.

"You know, there is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me," she said. "I am the hugest fan personally and professionally."

It sounds like the feeling is reciprocal, too.

"I got an email from her people sending me their love and support on behalf of the single," Gaga said. "And if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be."

Indeed. Good enough for Madonna, good enough for us!

The Lady, who performed "Born This Way" live at the Grammys Sunday, went on to explain to Jay Leno what the song means to her - and everybody:

Gaga: "I have a black child in my lap... Now I AM copying Madonna!"

Lady Gaga sat down with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes this week.

Among the many revelations in the program's nearly 15-minute feature on the singer, which aired just before Gaga's Grammy performance on CBS:

  • She considers herself a student, and the master, of fame.
  • She prefers to be called her real name, Stefani, in bed.
  • She sees herself in her fans, who are "all superstars."

From her musings on the celebrity gossip game to her thoughts on fashion, family and music, Gaga comes across well in the interview, don't you think?

Egged on to up the ante for each of her live performances, Lady GaGa took things to a new extreme at the Grammy Awards.

She showed up on the red carpet inside a shell, and proceeded to belt out a rendition of her latest single, "Born This Way." Is this song just a copy of a Madonna classic? That's up to listeners to decide.

But one thing is certain: The Material Girl never hatched herself on stage in order to kick off a performance. Watch GaGa do just that below and then grade her Grammy gig: What do you think?

Dear Lady GaGa: We get it. You're eccentric.

The singer arrived at the 2011 Grammy Awards tonight in an egg. Yes, an egg. We swear, the multi-nominated artist is in there somewhere...

Lady Gaga at the Grammys

At some point, GaGa may need to do the most shocking thing of all: arrive at an awards ceremony in a simple dress. Otherwise, we fear the extreme to which she may go in the future.

We'll be updating this post throughout the evening, bringing readers the latest in 2011 Grammy fashion. Click on each photo below to enlarge it:

Notice a similarity between Lady Gaga's new single "Born This Way" and Madonna's '80s classic "Express Yourself"? Well, the latter apparently has.

First, Madge's brother, Christopher Ciccone, went on record saying, "All I can say is 'What the f**k!' when asked to comment on Lady Gaga's new song.

"It sounds just like 'Express Yourself' ... I can't believe it to tell you the truth."

Madonna herself hasn't commented, but her YouTube page was updated today with, wouldn't you know it, a live performance of "Express Yourself."

The pop stars have never feuded. Contrarily, in fact. Gaga has called Madonna a huge influence and the two even did an SNL sketch together in 2009.

Listen to "Express Yourself" and see if you think "Born This Way" is a rip-off:

"Born This Way," Lady Gaga's new single by the forthcoming album of the same name, is finally here, and almost (almost) lives up to the incredible hype.

Working in shout-outs to every ethnic background and minority group under the sun, the lyrics sound like they were written in 10 minutes, as she claims.

But the hook - “don’t be a drag, just be a queen” - may well go down as the latest mantra for Gaga followers, the millions of Little Monsters everywhere.

The track is fun, it's catchy and fosters her message of all-embracing equality. In short, vintage Lady Gaga. Take a listen here and tell us if you agree:

"I am quite down-to-earth for such an eccentric person." - Lady Gaga

With the release of "Born This Way" less than 24 hours away, Vogue officially released its March cover featuring the fabulous Lady Gaga this morning.

Despite her theatrical shows, outrageous getups, wild antics, obsession with blood and semen and so on, she says she's a family-oriented good girl.

The Italian-American New York native says she prefers to be called by her real name, Stefani, in the bedroom for example. She also cares deeply for her parents.

“I obsess about his health,” she said about her father. “I’m very Italian. I call him every day. I ask my mother if he’s been smoking. They are in their 50s now."

"They still live in the same apartment on the Upper West Side," Gaga tells Vogue. "Nothing has changed at all since I have become a star. I am a real family girl."

"When it comes to love and loyalty, I am very old-fashioned."

Just one of many reasons why we love her ... opulent robes, pink wigs and all. Click to enlarge Vogue's Lady Gaga pictures below and tell us what you think:
