Someone locked lips with Lady Gaga on New Year's Eve.

If you guessed that person was her boyfriend Taylor Kinney, you would be ... incorrect! But you're still up on your Gaga gossip and we commend you for that.

No, this would've been a bit harder to see coming. After Lady Gaga's New Year's Eve performance rocked Times Square, she puckered up at midnight with ...

The Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg! Look:

Lady Gaga, Michael Bloomberg Kiss

If ever there were a picture worth a thousand words ...

Embracing as the ball dropped, the Grammy winner wore a sequined mask and hizzoner donned a sweater embroidered with the American flag. U-S-A! U-S-A!

Bloomberg officially chose Gaga as his "ball drop partner" a few days prior to the event. For the star, the whole experience of NYC on NYE was very emotional.

"I can't even quite describe what tonight felt like," Gaga, who grew up on the city's Upper West Side, Tweeted. "Sort of poetic madness. A dream come true."

We're guessing she meant the night overall, not just kissing Bloomy. Although you never know, the charming 69-year-old does look handsome in that sweater.

For native New Yorker Lady Gaga, it was a dream come true.

The singer performed live in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, treating Little Monsters to a medley of “Heavy Metal Lover,” “Marry the Night” and “Born This Way.”

She began the routine in a costume that looked like a cross between Jabba the Hutt, a giant squid and a sequined Pac-Man. Your guess is as good as ours really.

Soon enough, she changed to a (relatively, for Gaga) normal black body suit, Catwoman mask and globe-structure thing. Watch her NYE performance below:

Gaga later helped NYC Mayor Bloomberg push the button to drop the Times Square ball after changing into a sparkly Versace number. What a way to start 2012!

Always emotional but rarely like this, she got a little choked up talking to Ryan Seacrest about the whole thing. Check out her brief interview after the jump:

Lady Gaga's officially going public with boyfriend Taylor Kinney.

With a series of just-released photos in which she makes no attempt to hide her affection, the 25-year-old is finally acknowledging what we've known for months: She and The Vampire Diaries' Taylor Kinney are an item, and a cute one at that.

Sources say they're taking it slow, but definitely going strong.

Gaga, who first met Kinney on the set of her "You and I" music video (below) when he starred as her love interest and makeout partner, casually slung her arm over her boyfriend's shoulder as they strolled along a California beach.

While the pair appear cozy and are getting along fabulously, a source close to Gaga insists they're not super serious - mostly because of the strains of her career.

"They're hooking up and getting to know each other," explains the insider. "Gaga can't be too committed because she works 24/7. But she thinks he's the best!"

Good to hear. Let's just hope they make time for each other!

Can anyone really dispute that after the 2011 she's had?

Through numerous drunk driving arrests, sex tapes, bar fights and, well, the existence of Courtney Stodden, it's easy to forget that celebrities actually do a lot of good.

And the organization DoSomething.org wants to remind people of that: it has released a list of the top 20 most charitable stars in 2011, with Lady Gaga leading the way. This singer is almost as well known for her causes - from her support of gay rights to her fight against AIDS and poverty - as she is for her string of number-one hits.

The eccentric singer even visited the White House this month and has created her own charity the Born this Way Foundation.

  • Gotta Love Gaga
  • Justin Bieber in a Tux

“There are some interesting trends from this year’s list,” says Aria Finger, COO of DoSomething.org. “It’s dominated by young celebrities and we also see so many couples. "Stuck On F***in' You," an unreleased track off Lady Gaga's Born This Way album, is her Christmas gift to her Little Monsters. How very poignant and festive of her!

Says Gaga:

"So to give you a little background to the creation of this song. I wrote it in Minnesota after the Monster Ball on the tour bus. We recorded it in one shot. Fernando on guitar, Paul on Drum Machine. I wrote, sang it, and freestyled the last minute + a half of the song."

Take a listen:

"Merry X-mas Little Monsters!" she Tweeted over the weekend.

She notes, "We're in Minnesota/And it's a sold-out show again isn't exactly inspired free-styling, but there you have it. Christmas with bad words."

There you have it. Gaga has spoken. Now it's your turn:

What do you think of the track?

The new poster child for frivolous lawsuits, Lady Gaga's former assistant claims she was a slave to the music superstar and demands compensation as a result.

Jennifer O'Neill claims she was burdened by onerous tasks such as fetching a towel for Gaga after she showered, and keeping the Lady on a tight schedule!

She claims she is owed $380,000 in overtime (7,168 hours over 13 months, or $53 an hour) that she was never paid by a touring company hired by the star.

Lady Gaga in a Yellow Dress

O'Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses" and "required to be at Gaga's beck and call."

Isn't that what a personal assistant does?

O'Neill was technically en employee of the touring company, not Gaga, so the singer is not personally liable regardless of the overtime compensation claim.

In any event, Lady Gaga's rep told the New York Post the lawsuit is "completely without merit," and we would have to guess that the rep is correct.

Time to make sure your phone is password-protected, fellas.

Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga are smitten with one another these days, but when they first got together, he was still in a relationship with Brittany Sackett, In Touch claims.

Until he accidentally pocket-dialed her during an illicit date with Gaga.

“I could hear her telling him he was so ‘sexy and creative,’” Sackett says, adding that she'd replace those adjectives with “dishonest and disloyal.” Again ... passwords.

  • Taylor Kinney Picture
  • Gaga, Umbrella

“In my opinion,” Brittany says as a warning to Gaga, “he’s fame-hungry.”

If so, that would be one big thing The Vampire Diaries actor has in common with the star's ex, Luc Carl, who always seemed to be in love with Lady Gaga’s fame.

Then again, ever since Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney got together, they have kept a low profile, staying at his beach condo with roommates instead of hotels even.

You could say, in a manner of speaking, that they've got all kinds of money but they still pay rent, because you can't buy a house in heaven ... or something.

You get the point. Lessons learned from this article: 1. Don't call your significant other while you're on a date with someone else, and 2. Watch your back, Gaga.

The Associated Press named the Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, the Entertainer of the Year Monday. Not a choice you're going to find THG arguing with.

Edging the late Apple founder Steve Jobs by just three votes, the 25-year-old Gaga won the annual honor, voted on by 135 AP editors and broadcasters.

The award is based on who had the most influence on entertainment and culture in 2011, and from that standpoint, Jobs and Lady Gaga were neck and neck.

A Gaga Live Pic

The singer has touched on a number of facets in the past year, from a hit album in Born This Way to a record 17 million Twitter followers to her tireless social work.

Shestepped up her anti-bullying efforts following the suicide of her fan Jamey Rodemeyer, a 14-year-old from Buffalo, New York, who killed himself in September.

Earlier this month, Gaga met with officials at The White House to discuss the hot topic, and she also founded the Born This Way Foundation to promote the cause.

Jobs' impact on pop culture and society at large was enormous every year, but garnered an even greater amoung of attention after his untimely death in October.

He was Barbara Walters' Most Fascinating Person of 2011. R.I.P. Steve.
