Katy Perry Goes Planking in Mermaid Costume; Lady Gaga Fans Not Pleased

Some of Lady Gaga's Little Monsters are not happy with Katy Perry right now, voicing opposition to an image the latter recently posted on Twitter.

Referring to the trend known as planking, Perry wrote "PROPER planking FTW!" under a photo of herself posing as a mermaid under a bridge.

She does make for a fairly convincing piece of plywood ...

Katy Perry Planking FTW!

Harmless planking, right? Not to some Little Monsters it's not.

The issue some Lady Gaga fans are taking with Perry's photo?

Gaga's '80s-themed "Edge Of Glory" music video was initially going to feature her as a mermaid - under a bridge no less, according to leaked pics.

Additionally, the Lady performed as a mermaid on French TV last month and has said in interviews that her next video will be mermaid-themed.

What do you think? Is Katy ripping off the Gaga?

Tim Pawlenty Loves Lady Gaga

If you have no idea who Tim Pawlenty is, we don't blame you.

The GOP presidential candidate polls way behind Mitt Romney, Michelle Bachmann and even Sarah Palin, who on top of being incapable, isn't even running!

Point being, T-Paw is running, even if no one outside Minnesota, where he served two terms as governor, knows it. So how does he change things up?

Get his name in the headlines. More importantly, get Lady Gaga's name in there. In this Q&A, he asks the interviewers which Gaga song is their favorite:

Granted, it was a personal and pop-culture interview, so it's not like he name-dropped "Born This Way" in a debate. But he digs the song. Good to know.

The a cappella version is better, if you ask him, though, and "Bad Romance" gives it a run for a money because of the beat. Think he's making all this up?

Even if he's an avid watcher of Lady Gaga videos, we don't expect she'll be pulling the lever for Tim in '12. He's staunchly opposed to gay marriage.

Lady Gaga Described as "Ticking Time Bomb" By Ian Halperin

Lady Gaga has been described as sick, unhealthy and obsessed in an explosive tell-all which documents her alleged drug abuse and dangerous diet.

In an interview with Star, investigative journalist Ian Halperin makes some startling allegations about the performer, insisting she is a time bomb.

"Those who have worked with her on tour reported to me that Lady Gaga barely ate for weeks at a time to fit into her costume," said Halperin.

Ga Ga La La

"She is sick and obsessed with her weight ... Gaga will stare at herself in the mirror for hours, analyzing, critiquing her body. It's an unhealthy obsession."

While most people believe her outrageous outfits and heavy makeup are just part of her act, Halperin says there is a more sinister reason behind her look.

"Her lupus is far worse than she lets on," he said of the chronic autoimmune disease, which the 25-year-old pop phenomenon has admitted to having.

"Part of the reason she wears wigs and makeup is because her hair is falling out and she's covered in red blotches, both side effects of the disease."

Lady Gaga Denies Exploiting LGBT Community

Lady Gaga and the gay community are closely linked for a variety of reasons, but has the pop star been exploiting her LGBT fans to sell records?

She's been criticized for this lately, but calls it a "ridiculous" claim.

Lady Gaga, My Little Pony

"My love for my gay fans is just pure, authentic love for them as supporters of me from the beginning, and me feeling connected to their struggles as someone who is a part of their fight," Gaga tells The Advocate.

Gaga considers herself a member of the LGBT community (the B part) and says anyone claiming she's using it to help bolster sales is absurd.

"To say that I would use the gay community to sell records is probably one of the most ridiculous statements anyone can make about me," she says - and we're all familiar now with the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumors.

"The top thing I think about every single day, other than my fans, loving the music, and my family being healthy, is social justice and equality."

Lady Gaga Accused of Stiffing Charity

Lady Gaga may be facing a courtroom showdown after accusations that she didn't give money to a Japanese earthquake charity as she had promised.

According to reports, a class action lawsuit has been filed against the "Born This Way" singer regarding the sale of her We Pray For Japan wristbands.

The proceeds were supposed to go to victims of the disaster that rocked the region earlier this year. The question is whether they actually did.

Lovin' Gaga

Gaga charged $5 for the bands, another $3.99 for shipping and handling and $0.60 for taxes. But a lawsuit claims she inflated the costs, pocketing extra cash.

Also, it alleges she refused to reveal how much of the $5 actually goes to the actual victims. It is not revealed how much she is accused of taking off the top.

This would be unfortunate if it were the case, but it doesn't sound like our girl and could be a completely frivolous lawsuit, or the result of a legitimate error.

We'll wait to hear Lady Gaga's side before assuming anything.

Lady Gaga Album Sales Top Five Million

Born This Way just surpassed five million albums sold globally, and Lady Gaga took to her Facebook page to thank the loyal fans who made it happen.

"In just a few weeks Born This Way sold almost 5 million copies worldwide," she writes. "I ♥ you Monsters its just the beginning. Real work starts now."

Today Show Angel

What that work is, we can't say. But we can say this with certainty. When the Gaga says jump, Little Monsters all over this earth will say how high.

Cheers to Lady Gaga on this latest milestone!

The Green Monster: Lady Gaga Invades Japan

According to a certain member of The Muppets, it's not easy being green.

Well, unless you're Lady Gaga, who's been known to don outfits made of muppets, but opted for a simple green ensemble (with hair) as she arrived at Japan's Narita International Airport Tuesday for an appearance there.

The Green Monster

By Lady Gaga standards, this is fairly uneventful!

We've seen Lady Gaga bald. Then we saw her with blue hair. Now she's dyed it green, all in the span of a week. This is one hard-working style chameleon!

Sporting an all-green get-up, Mother Monster rocked a Pray for Japan bracelet as a nod to the ongoing restoration efforts in the tsunami-rocked country.

Gaga will appear at the MTV Japan Video Music Awards on Saturday.

Weird Al Spoofs Lady Gaga in "Perform This Way" Video: First Look!

The music video for Weird Al Yankovic's much-discussed Lady Gaga parody "Perform This Way" has arrived, and it's as outlandish as you'd expect.

True to form, the lyrics are hilarious and the visuals play off them well, but Lady Gaga provided a unique challenge as far as Al spoof targets go.

In order to skewer someone as bombastic as Lady Gaga (this is a woman who wears outfits like these), a parody has to be REALLY out there!

Does Weird Al's head superimposed on a hot chick's body qualify, with his geeky dome bobbing horribly (intentionally) out of sync? We'd say so.

Weird Al, ironically, has made a career out of this nonsense ... and outlasted the careers of many of the people he's lampooned in this fashion.

Gaga doesn't appear to be a flash in the plan, but if she knows what's good for her, she'll adopt Yankovic's look in a future video of her own.

How awesome would that be to bring it full circle.
