Lady Gaga "Fake Rolex" Tweet Sparks Criticism
Lady Gaga continues to court controversy on every leg of her Asian tour.
The singer touched down in Bangkok, Thailand and immediately sparked an online uproar Thursday, Tweeting that she wants to go buy a fake Rolex.
The nation is quite sensitive to its seedy underworld - perceived or otherwise - being highlighted by outsiders, so many citizens didn't appreciate the Tweet.
The 26-year-old singer posted upon landing in Thailand:
"I just landed in Bangkok baby! Ready for 50,000 screaming Thai monsters. Today I just wanna get lost in a lady market and buy a fake Rolex."
Good-natured as her intent likely was, this didn't go over well.
"She came to our home, but instead of admiring our culture she insulted us," said a commentator on popular Thai web board pantip.com.
"We are more civilized than you think," tweeted Thai DJ Surahit Siamwalla, who has a ticket to Friday's show but now plans to boycott.
It's also unclear exactly what she meant by "lady market."
Lady Gaga Performs in Philippines Despite Protests, Threats
Lady Gaga isn't afraid to be herself ... or perform despite death threats.
Gaga went ahead and performed in the capital of the Philippines, Manila, on her Born This Way Ball world tour Tuesday night despite rallying Christian youths who considered her "pornographic" act an "offense to Jesus Christ."
Because she purportedly promotes homosexuality and immorality, natch.
Amid a storm of controversy, Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto said she did not violate conditions of the special permit granted for the performance after the content, while provocative, was deemed part of artistic expression.
The "Poker Face" singer certainly didn't tone down her outrageous stage theatrics, either, despite critics in the predominantly Catholic nation seeking to have the shows canceled; protesters even held a prayer vigil outside the concert venue.
Gaga, who was banned in Indonesia and also sparked protests in Korea, emerged from a Gothic castle set astride a black unicorn surrounded by gun-toting dancers ... while at another point a wall of meat carcasses hung behind her.
As she flung herself headfirst into a fake grinder. Obviously.
Another bizarre moment saw the diva appear as a "headless bride" levitating over the stage, and donning her trademark bra with gun barrels for cones.
The best news? There was not a seat to be had in the house.

Lady Gaga: Banned in Indonesia!
Indonesia's Little Monsters, revolt!
Lady Gaga, who is scheduled to perform in Jakarta next month, has just been banned by the nation following protests from hardline Islamic critics.
The concert drew vehement opposition from many in the world's most populous Muslim nation, due to her controversial persona and racy getups.
A spokesman for the Indonesian national police has confirmed that the singer has been denied a permit for her June 3 show, thus negging the show.
It would have been the biggest stop on her Asian tour, having been set to take place at the 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta.
The Islamic Defenders Front trashed the global pop superstar for her "Satanic lyrics" that threaten to "destroy the children's sense of morality."
Other protesters, equally enraged, even vowed to physically block the singer from setting foot on Indonesian soil if the show wasn't cancelled.
Local law enforcement reportedly requested that the permit be denied after fearing that officers wouldn't able to contain a massive on-site protest.
Earlier this spring, Gaga's tour drew protests from South Korean Christian groups decrying that her "pornographic" performances promoted homosexuality.
No word if the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumors also make the protesters uneasy, or if they're even allowed to read such things on the Internet.

Lady Gaga Meat Dress: The Low-Cut Return!
Lady Gaga shocked us with her now-infamous meat dress at the 2010 MTV Music Awards. Monday, she debuted a new spin of the carnivorous couture.
Performing inside a meat locker-fashioned set (obviously), the 2012 version is markedly different from Lady Gaga's meat dress as we originally knew it.
With a tighter fit, plunging neckline and skirt-like bottom, it's more compact than the original, which was probably necessary for a live performance.
Which meat dress do you prefer, the new version or the first, now enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? Check out the Lady Gaga pics below and vote:
Lady Gaga: NOT Engaged to Taylor Kinney (or Anyone Else For That Matter)
Relax, 24 million monsters. It's just a joke.
Despite a picture posted to photographer friend Terry Richardson's blog with the caption "showing off her new engagement ring," Lady Gaga is single.
One can see how confusion might arise, but rest assured, our girl is really not engaged to recent ex Taylor Kinney or anyone else for that matter.
Richardson, whose job is apparently to produce viral content like Lindsay Lohan pics or the Kate Upton "Cat Daddy" video, posted the photo on Sunday.
The two have been collaborating on a new book of Lady Gaga photos, which is how this image - of her showing off a massive diamond ring - came to be.
Gaga and Kinney (The Vampire Diaries, Chicago Fire) had been dating for the better part of a year, but reportedly broke up for good a few weeks back.
Friday, Richardson also posted a photo of Gaga wearing nothing but black tape on one of her nipples. Check it out in our gallery of Lady Gaga pics!
Lady Gaga on The Simpsons: First Look!
Lady Gaga will voice an animated version of herself on the May 20 episode of The Simpsons, and a few images of her guest role have been released.
The episode is entitled "Lisa Goes Gaga."
â¨The eccentric singer, who reportedly kisses Marge Simpson, said of her part: "I play a bit of a sl*t. The apple doesn't fall far from my artistic tree."
Gaga reportedly wears 18 different outfits during the episode. Looks like Homer has some ideas for putting her infamous meat dress to good use ...
A week from Sunday, the Gaga express train rolls into Springfield. The pop star will try to cheer up Lisa Simpson, who has become a social outcast.
Gaga tells Lisa it’s good to be unique and not just like everybody else ... sage advice the Lady has shared with fans across the world for years now.
Should make for some great Simpsons quotes, for sure.
Lady Gaga Does Not Believe in Divorce
Lady Gaga, who just broke up with Taylor Kinney, says that when she does decide to get married, it will be for good. Divorce is not an option.
Though she's been known to shock with her outlandish outfits and raunchy stage shows, the Born This Way singer insists marriage is for life.
On The Conversation With Amanda De Cadenet (so much for that self-imposed media blackout) which aired in the US last week, she said:
"My grandmother... was married to my grandfather for 60 years. My parents are still together, 30 years. Divorce is not an option for me."
"It's like, 'I'm gonna get married and that's it. He's stuck with me'."
The star explained that her mother and father had "stuck it out" through tough times and she plans to work just as hard on her own marriage.
"I want to eventually find a man that feels the same way - about divorce not being an option," she said. "Working through everything together, even if it's the hardest thing you've ever been through, you just stick it out."
The rumored hermaphrodite and unquestioned superstar also admitted recently that she finds love "terrifying." She's nothing if not up front.
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney Break Up!
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have reportedly broken up.
The pop superstar and the model-actor, who has appeared on The Vampire Diaries, are officially "on a break," a source tells Us Weekly this afternoon.
"She will be touring nonstop until next year and has found she can't have a relationship at the same time," the insider says of her upcoming mega-tour.
"There's just no room for anything else. Her work is all-consuming."
Still, the couple of 10 months was showing signs of cracking for some time, even before rumors of her possibly getting back together with Luc Carl.
The reason, allegedly? Kinney not doting on The Gaga,
"Taylor was all about himself, a typical actor, and didn't completely get Gaga," says the friend, suggesting that it wasn't meant to be. "She just loved that she got this guy who everyone thought was hot! But it was never going to last."
"Taylor was never that attentive to her."
The two first met on the set of Lady Gaga's "You and I" video. While a reconciliation isn't officially off the table for these two, don't hold your breath.

Korean Christian Groups Call to Ban Lady Gaga, "Pornographic" Show
Lady Gaga is under fire in Korea - and not even from the Northern half.
Christian groups in South Korea called on Friday for the pop star to cancel her concert there, saying it's "pornographic" and pro-homosexuality.
South Korea's government has already bowed to public pressure and banned people under 18 from attending, but certain protesters said that was not enough.
"Even adults can't see her performance which is too homosexual and pornographic," said Rev. Yoon Jung-hoon, organizer of "Civilians Network against the Lady Gaga Concert."
"Some people can simply accept this as another culture but its impact is huge beyond art and debases religions."
The singer's hit song "Born This Way" celebrates the empowerment of gay men and women, something that many in South Korea, which is the second most Christian country in Asia after the Philippines, say is an immoral lifestyle.
No word if they've even heard the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumor.
Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga to Portray Aliens in Men in Black III
Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga might soon get killed by Will Smith. Wait... what?!?
Men in Black III director Barry Sonnenfeld confirmed in an interview with Collider this week that the music superstars will actually cameo in his upcoming blockbuster, though you're unlikely to be aware of it as you watch Agents J and K in action.
"In this [installment] there are a few people that you'll see up on the surveillance board, including Lady Gaga, Tim Burton, who probably knows more about aliens than I do, and let's see who else... Justin Bieber," Sonnenfeld told the website. "The challenge is getting celebrities that are famous, will give you permission and won't be like 'Who's that guy?' in 10 years."
In the 2002 sequel to this franchise, Michael Jackson actually played the role of an alien for a brief scene.
The film comes out on May 25 and you can watch the Men in Black III trailer now. Can you spot Bieber and/or Gaga in it?!?
