With Lauren Conrad retiring from The Hills, Kristin Cavallari is ready to take over - and you can guarantee the former Laguna Beach star will shake things up.

"Basically... they want me to come in and start some drama," the 22-year-old told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show. "I'm good for it, so it's fun."

Kristin's plans for the upcoming season?

"Drinking, fighting, hooking up - all that good stuff!"

As for her rumored romance with Audrina Patridge's ex, Justin-Bobby Brescia, which would likely be the most contrived and disgusting event in Hills history?

"I sat next to him at [Heidi and Spencer Pratt]'s wedding, yes," she teased. The wedding, which airs on The Hills May 31, is the season finale and her debut.

Justin-Bobby or no Justin-Bobby, Kristin Cavallari quips she's "on a man-hunt" after catching the wedding bouquet tossed by the bride at the Speidi nuptials.

"I am single and they want me to date on the show, which I'm excited about," the Laguna Beach nemesis of Lauren Conrad goes on. "They will introduce me to guys, and if goes somewhere, then they'll follow it. If not, it'll be over."

Cavallari says she didn't push Conrad out of the show.

"I had nothing to do with that," she insists. "[Lauren] was leaving, and I thought it was a good time to come in because she's gone."

Cavallari adds that she'll "hopefully" take over for LC as the narrator and that their much-hyped feud is sooo high school. "We're fine now," she says.

As for whether Heidi Montag has changed since she introduced her to Spencer Pratt four years ago, Kristin Cavallari leaves us with this awesome quote:

"I don't really hang out with her as much anymore... but looks-wise, I'd say... Listen, they know what they're doing and they're making a lot of money."

Always there when you need a quote about Hills-related (or unrelated) stories, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag say they're thrilled that Kristin Cavallari will be replacing Lauren Conrad on the MTV reality series that made them stars.

"I love Kristin. She introduced us," Heidi said at Maxim's 10th Annual Hot 100 party. "We wouldn't be together without Kristin, and she's one of my favorite people."

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Celebrate

The new season, Heidi said, will be "ten times better!"

As we reported earlier, Kristin Cavallari’s first appearance will be on the May 31 finale, where she catches the bouquet at Heidi and Spencer's wedding.

Spencer thinks she will "bring some edge" that LC didn't have: "Lauren didn't date a guy for three years. Kristin's going to date three guys every day!"

Now that Cavallari is joining the cast of his self-described favorite show, Spencer adds that he "would stay on The Hills for twenty seasons!"

NEW CENTER OF ATTENTION: Kristin Cavallari will find herself in the familiar position when she takes Lauren Conrad's place as the leading lady of MTV's The Hills.

His sister, Stephanie Pratt, isn't so convinced.

"I'm terrified!" she said, half-seriously. "She's no Lauren Conrad. And she loves drama and catfights. I saw her on Laguna Beach. I'm freaking out."

Audrina Patridge said bringing Cavallari on board is "great."

"It'll add a little spice to The Hills," she said. "I don't really know her that well. I hung out with her a couple times, and she seems like a pretty cool girl."

Still, it'll be different without Lauren Conrad.

"I'm so used to talking with Lauren and filming with her all the time," said Audrina, who will remain a focal point like she was on Monday's episode of The Hills. "I still talk to her off camera, but it's weird not being able to film with her."

Former Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari has been rumored for weeks to be replacing Lauren Conrad, her former high school rival, on MTV's The Hills.

Well, now it's a done deal!

Cavallari will indeed be starring in the faux-reality series, with her first appearance on the show also being Conrad's last - the May 31 season finale.

Kristin will be shown catching the bouquet at the wedding of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (she introduced the gruesome twosome years ago).

She'll appear in 10 episodes this fall. The 22-year-old budding actress is fully prepared to stir things up, too: “It’s a TV show,” Kristin Cavallari explains.

“I’m not going into it like, ‘I’m going to make great friendships with these people.’ It’s work! Drama sells. I think that’s why they’re bringing me in.”

Kristin shared more insight with Entertainment Weekly on her return to reality TV. We've printed some excerpts below, with more after the jump.

On why she’s coming back: “My goal is to get fans excited about me again. When I first started out, I had a celebrity name but I didn’t have the acting skills I have now. If I have some buzz with my name again, I feel like it will only help.”

MTV has announced that The Hills will return in the fall with more episodes of the current fifth season, even as Lauren Conrad bows out of reality TV.

"Lauren has moved on, but Heidi, Audrina, Spencer, Brody, Stephanie, Justin-Bobby and Lo will all be back as the drama continues with fresh faces, new stories and shocking surprises," the network said in a press release.

"Viewers will find out that life in Los Angeles only gets more complicated as friendships, relationships and loyalties are tested like never before."

Another "fresh face" to look for in the fall? Kristin Cavallari, who made a rare appearance at Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's wedding this past weekend, and even managed to catch the bride's bouquet for MTV cameras.

She's in talks to guest star in six upcoming episodes of The Hills next fall. The Spring episodes conclude May 31 with the airing of the Speidi nuptials.

MEMBA HER? Kristin Cavallari comes to The Hills as Lauren Conrad retires.

Kristin and Lauren co-starred on Laguna Beach. After the second of two hit seasons, Kristin left town, and the show to attend Loyola in Los Angeles.

A few months later, The Hills debuted and Lauren became a huge star.

Now she's come full circle - but what will Kristin Cavallari actually do on The Hills? The show will play up some drama relating to her ex, Brody Jenner, who she dated from 2004-2006, according to reports. LC dated him after that.

Interestingly, K-Cavs took over the narrating duties from Conrad once before, during their Laguna Beach days after LC moved on (for college).

Also interestingly, Brody Jenner isn't the only romantic interest they've shared. The two battled for Stephen Colletti throughout high school.

Are you excited Kristin Cavallari is coming to The Hills? Vote in our poll below (and click to enlarge pics if it helps make up your mind):

Okay, so Christmas is over. But when The Hills stars pose with Santa on three separate occasions, we have no choice but to bring you the (cheesy) pics!

Well, Kristin Cavallari isn't from The Hills. But she was prominently featured on Laguna Beach, which gave us The Hills. She's also severely hot. Is that a candy cane in your pocket, Santa, or ... never mind. Just look at these Kristin Cavallari pictures.

Two more Laguna Beach holdovers-turned-Hills stars, Lauren Bosworth (Lo) and Lauren Conrad (LC) also sat on Santa's lap (lucky dog) earlier this month, while the show's faux newlyweds, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, posed whilst skiing.

So cute, so nauseating. The only question: Who would make the best helpers for Santa if their reality TV careers flamed out? Tell us in the survey below ...

Who makes the cutest Santa's helper(s)?

Kristin Cavallari is done working the small screen, folks. It's official. She has ruled out the possibility of appearing on The Hills, despite the persistent rumors to the contrary, telling Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview:

"I have been asked to come back by MTV a million times to be on The Hills or Laguna Beach or to do a different reality TV show, but I am not interested," she said. "I am doing what I want to do so I don't feel pressure to go back. I keep getting jobs. I feel like been there, done that. I did Laguna Beach for two years and had the best time. I feel like I need stuff that challenges me and another reality show won't do that."

Her high school rivalry with Lauren Conrad put her on the celebrity map. So what's Kristin Cavallari been up to in the few years since?

Well, K-Cavs recently starred in a new video for Gavin DeGraw, best known for crooning the One Tree Hill theme song. She also finished up a short film that Entourage's Kevin Connolly directed that... well, let her describe:

"[It's made up of] nine different short films, and the whole thing is called Uncomfortable Moments. My short is called Dry Humping. It is about two high school kids, my boyfriend and I, who are dry humping when his dad comes home and catches us in the act. They are all really funny short, goofy films."

THG NOTE: Gulp. Guys, you may feel free to snap out of it and stop envisioning yourselves dry humping the heck out of Kristin Cavallari now.

In other work news, Cavallari also is set to appear in a beach volleyball movie opposite David Charvet, entitled Green Flash, this summer.

"That was definitely not a hard job to go to every day," Kristin said. "Also, I am about to go to Canada to shoot a movie. I can't talk about that yet, though."

"But I'm having a good time!"

The Hills star, Lauren Conrad, debuted her hip new fashion line - The Lauren Conrad Collection - last night at Los Angeles Fashion Week. LC's Fall 2008 line fashion show was held at Smashbox Studios Tuesday in Culver City, Calif.

The night was a huge success for Lauren Conrad, 22, who's been going to school for fashion design and marketing. But don't expect to see the event on The Hills.

"I kinda like that it's separate. It's not something that I really want to be part of a reality television show. It's a career that I want beyond my 15 minutes of fame," Lauren Conrad told reporters at the show last night.

LC had a great supporting section as Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Lauren "Lo" Bosworth, and Brody Jenner were all on hand to cheer her on. Here are a few pics, one of LC and Lo, the other of Whitney and Audrina ...

Oh, and yes, believe it or not, former LC rival Kristin Cavallari did show up as we reported she might yesterday afternoon! Follow the jump for a bunch more pics from the fashion show, including more of Lauren and Kristin ...

The Hills star Lauren Conrad has extended an olive branch to former Laguna Beach high school rival Kristin Cavallari, reports Life & Style.

NOTE: You can pretty much discount the validity of this piece of quote-unquote celebrity news right now, considering that it's from Life & Style.

Anyway, according to the magazine, "Lauren invited Kristin to her recent fashion show," says an insider. "And Kristin accepted!"

No idea why. Starved for attention? Perhaps she was just pissed at another Kristen for stealing her thunder and looking to get back into the spotlight.

The Lauren Conrad Collection is having its first runway show tonight at Smashbox Studios during Los Angeles Fashion Week.

Let's see if Kristin Cavallari shows - that way we'll know if this is real or the news equivalent of Ryan Shawhughes' and Ethan Hawke's love child.

We mean illegitimate, people.

Are Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad ready to bury the hatchet?

The girls' feud began three years ago over their Laguna Beach co-star and JV Hollywood womanizer Stephen Colletti, now 22.

Both Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad liked and sort of hooked up with the cutie, who later dated Heroes star Hayden Panettiere.

Kristin was rumored to be set for an appearance on The Hills this spring, but LC has shot down that Hills gossip on several occasions.

Maybe she's just keeping the secret under wraps?

Here's hoping for some sort of Kristin Cavallari-LC reconciliation... or failing that, a brutal, public cat fight would be entertaining, as well.

In the trailer for the upcoming episodes of The Hills, it's obvious that the tension between Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt has escalated.

"When we get back to L.A., I need you to move out... I gave up everything for you!" Montag says. "I'm not the one who wanted to see other people!"

Heidi and Spencer Reflect

Did Spencer Pratt - a notorious player before his emasculation in Season Three - really give his number to another girl, or even worse?

Stunningly, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have chosen, exclusively, to open up about it in ... wait for it ... the latest issue of Us Weekly!

With Britney Spears under house arrest (or at least papa Jamie Spears' much-needed lockdown), Us Weekly had to go to Plan B - Speidi. We've yet to see Plan C.

Anyway, apparently there was some other girl who came in and wreaked havoc on the relationship of Heidi and Spencer, and her name's not Lauren Conrad.

"Spencer and I have really had our ups and downs this past year," Montag said. "I've definitely been betrayed by friends before, but I've never had a boyfriend do this to me. Spencer and I may differ on what it means to cheat."

They're on the same page as far as selling out and makin' bank, though!

"We're definitely on a roller coaster," said Spencer Pratt, who accompanied Heidi to her stepbrother's funeral this week. "I'm not too happy about a lot of things."

Montag and Pratt also revealed that Laguna Beach alumna and LC rival Kristin Cavallari was actually their matchmaker.

"[Kristin Cavallari] made it all happen," Pratt says. "She said to me, 'I know this girl who's so hot and perfect for you!'"

Hot and perfect for Spencer? Nah. But one out of two isn't bad.

Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port sat down with Extra this week and denied reports that Kristin Cavallari will be joining The Hills.

At least Kristin has Matt Leinart to console her.

Lauren Conrad Out in L.A.

Meanwhile, Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port are on the unemployment line. Well, LC's reality show, fashion line and endorsement deals aside.

A report from Women's Wear Daily claims that Teen Vogue has decided not to renew its partnership with the MTV hit reality show next season.

Lauren Conrad worked as an intern, while Whitney Port was her West Coast fashion editor. Officials for Teen Vogue and MTV have declined comment.

But a source tells WWD that magazine officials didn't exactly approve of the stars' behavior, which included feuding, clubbing and making out.

"The average age of the magazine's readership is 16 â€" do they really want to support the behavior depicted [in The Hills]?" a source asked.

"They also started to see that newsstand sales were flat ... There was no blip on the radar when Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port were involved."

Insiders say Conrad and Port will be still featured in some sort of working capacity, but not at Teen Vogue. Where they'll work is anyone's guess.

In The Hills season finale, Conrad and Port jetted off to Paris to assist a Teen Vogue editor at a ball. Plenty of footage from the trip will be part of eight "bonus" Hills episodes airing at some point this spring.

Here's the girls' interview ...

 [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZT1Hz0RwHs[/youtube]

UPDATE: "The girls have moved on from Teen Vogue," a spokesperson for the mag said, declining to say whether or not Teen Vogue will be part of the series next time (which almost certainly means it won't be).

Another report says that Lauren Conrad helped increase sales by double digits at Teen Vogue over two years, but MTV is out to mix things up.

Whitney has also reportedly been offered a job at W Magazine. We'll have more information on this for you when it becomes available.
