In a new interview with USA Today, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart pretty much admit to dating. Not that this is news to anyone anymore.

Asked why there are fewer tabloid covers of the pair - except for this hilarious one - Pattinson replied: "We have gotten better at hiding over the last year," while Kristen agreed:

Head Scratcher

"That's totally the reason. They just make up a story to go along with the pictures. If they never get the picture, there's no story. We are just good hiders now."

That means there must be something to hide, right?

Soon after this interview, E! News reports that Robsten took off for Laguna Niguel, California. They holed up at the Ritz Carlton in the area, which is about an hour-and-a-half south of Los Angeles.

"You could tell they were a couple," said a witness. "They didn't stand out at all. They were dressed very casual - Robert with a baseball cap, jeans and sneakers, and Kristen was casual as well."

The couple returned to L.A. yesterday, as Rob will soon start filming Water for Elephants. But expect to see plenty of Pattinson and Stewart together again in the near future, as they promote the June 30 release of Eclipse.

Within a few minutes of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner taking the stage on The Oprah Winfrey Show today, the host compared the group to The Beatles.

While anyone born before 1960 is likely rolling over in his/her grave right now, listen (below) to the response these stars received on the talk show. Defeaning does not begin to describe it.

Once the screams died down, Oprah started to grill the Eclipse cast. She had to ask Robert and Kristen about their relationship, of course, which prompted the following exchange (and subsequent, ridiculous tabloid cover):

Pattinson: Kristen's pregnant.
Stewart: He really loves to shock people because he thinks it's funny. No, we've actually had this conversation. He's having the baby.

Oh, those two.

As for what Lautner is looking for in a woman, he told the adoring audience: "Loyalty. "Honesty. Really important to me is somebody who can totally let loose and pretty much be themselves and have fun."

Stewart was asked about the character of Bella Swan and said: "I can also completely relate to the fact that she's totally awkward, but that she owns it and she's not going to say anything she doesn't mean."

Other topics touched on during an interesting hour of television:

  • How Taylor bulked up for his role as Jacob by eating beef patties all day.
  • How Rob wanted to be a rapper when he was 14.
  • How Kristen REALLY likes her cat.
  • What it's like to be part of this franchise, as relayed by Pattinson: "It's not really about you. So, it never really goes to your head and you can kind of participate in it. It's about the fans themselves. A lot of people, they just like doing Twilight-related things."

Check out more from the cast below.

Welcome to tabloid journalism 101, readers. Pay close attention to this lesson...

Earlier this week, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson taped an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show that will air tomorrow afternoon.

As reported by THG, the pair met with the host beforehand and were warned that she'd ask about the status of their relationship. At this point, Rob and Kristen admitted they were dating - but said they didn't wish to discuss it on-air.

Oprah said fine, they could shoot down the question however they wanted to when it came up.

So, when the cameras rolled and the inevitable was asked, Pattinson joked that Stewart was pregnant. That's it. End of story. Oprah viewers will see these 10 seconds play out tomorrow, as part of an in-depth interview that reveals actual information.

Now, cut to this week's OK! Weekly cover:

What does Oprah Winfrey have to do with the status of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? Allow us to explain:

These two have already taped their appearance on Oprah's talk show (it will air on May 13, Robert's birthday! Eek!). Prior to taking the stage, as usual, the guests met with the host and went over what questions will be asked in front of the studio audience.

More Smiles

Winfrey warned that the topic of Rob and Kristen's relationship would come up. She had to "go there." But she'd allow the couple to be coy with their answer (they actually joke about Kristen being pregnant on the air) as long as they gave Oprah the actual answer off camera.

"Both Rob and Kristen's people and Summit then confirmed ahead of time [Rob and Kristen] are together and are dating. One hundred percent," a source told E! News.

This should close the case of Robsten forever. After all, who lies to Oprah?!?

As for the interaction between the love birds, this same insider revealed: "They weren't super affectionate or anything. Kristen seemed a little awkward and nervous, but Rob didn't at all. He was really friendly and was cracking jokes the entire time."

Sounds like the personalities of each star that other sources have also confirmed. Will you tune in for their appearance on Oprah? Or, here's a better question:

How many times will you watch their apearance on Oprah?

Let's get one thing straight: Kristen Stewart is not miserable!

She makes that important point in the latest issue of Elle, and she recently shared another reason why she's actually happier than ever: the actress has landed a key new movie role.

"I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever... maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in On the Road. So that's a big deal," she told USA Today this week.

Lip Biting

The film will be based on Jack Kerouac's classic 1957 novel, which tells the tale of disaffected members of the Beat Generation.

Garrett Hedland and Sam Riley are also attached to the project.

In other semi-Stewart news: the name Isabella is officially the most popular baby name in the country. This is a clear sign that people love The Twilight Saga, and also might need to seek professional help.

A smile on Kristen Stewart's face is like a real body part anywhere on Heidi Montag's body.

Both these examples are as rare as Sarah Palin turning down a speaking engagement.

But the Twilight Saga star says she isn't actually miserable on the red carpet, "it’s just that somebody’s yelling at me... I literally, sometimes, have to keep myself from crying... It’s a physical reaction to the energy that’s thrown at you.”

That's an unusual way of putting it, and an unfortunate circumstance for someone often forced to attend movie premieres.

Elle Girl

In the latest issue of Elle, Stewart opens up about a number of other topics, as well, including (of course) Robert Pattinson:

On responses to her public mannerisms: “I think it’s funny that when I go onstage to accept an award, they think I’m nervous, uncomfortable, and awkward - and I am - but those are bad words for them.”

On problems with fame: "I can’t be by myself and I like being by myself.”

On being in a relationship: "I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them. People say, ‘Just say who you’re dating. Then people will stop being so ravenous about it.’ It’s like, No they won’t! They’ll ask for specifics."

Neither Kristen Stewart nor Jessica Biel are known for smiling. They never seem excited to be photographed.

This attitude persisted for both beauties last night, as they joined a slew of celebrities at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala, which was held in honor of a future exhibit called "American Women: Fashioning a National Identity."

Stewart's identity, whether she likes it or not, is often based on her relationship with Robert Pattinson, although that Twilight Saga hunk didn't accompany his girlfriend to the event.

Biel did walk the red carpet with Justin Timberlake, but we've shoved that singer aside in the photo below in order to pit Jessica against Kristen. Who looked better?

  • JT Lover

In the latest issue of Flaunt magazine, Kristen Stewart admits she's just like many girls her age.

Not because she smokes, though readers are still debating whether or not this makes her a bad role model.

Instead, the actress tells the publication that she can be as insecure as anyone, especially with the spotlight now on her.

"I definitely act differently. I’m definitely overcoming a lot of it. The only insecurity I’ve developed is just being overly paranoid about everyone looking at you when they’re not," she says.

Stewart is also aware that she comes across as unfriendly. While Robert Pattinson knows the real Kristen, many others do not and this is why:

“I get defensive and that has probably perpetuated people’s idea of me never smiling. I kind of shake my leg too, so people think I’m always uncomfortable.”

In an attempt to let fans in more, Stewart explained her motivation behind choosing movies:

“Who knows what you’re going to connect with and then be able to live up to? I can’t just read a script and say it’s great because there’s a part for me, my age, perfect - I can’t live that life. You know what I mean? That’s just not me.”

Stop us if you've heard this before:

A popular Twilight Saga star has posed for a magazine with a cigarette prominently on display. He/she looks happy to be smoking it, causing a growing controversy over one's freedom of personal choice versus one's responsibility to a large, young fan base.

No, we're not referring to Robert Pattinson. That actor was photographed puffing away in January, during a shoot with Wonderland magazine. In a poll of THG readers, 41% thought Rob was setting a bad example.

But this time we're talking about Pattinson's likely girlfriend, Kristen Stewart. She's the cover girl for the April issue of Flaunt and is surrounded by smoke in the photo from it below:

Once again, sides will be drawn on this topic. Smoking is perfectly legal and who is anyone to tell Kristen what to do with her lungs?

But isn't she also a role model for millions of teenagers, whether she wants to be or not? If she was caught with a sex tape, would we argue that it was a legal act and she was free to use her vagina as she sees fit?

Sound off on this question now: Is Stewart setting a bad example by smoking in a magazine?

Debate this issue and check out two more pics of Kristen from Flaunt below.
