In the wake of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday, radio stations have mostly pulled Ke$ha's latest hit off the air.

Titled "Die Young," the track had risen to number-three on nationwide playlists last week, according to Mediabase.

But it dropped from 167 million listeners around the country to 148 million two days after Adam Lanza killed 26 people inside an elementary school.

Ke$ha is known for many things: crazy eye-liner, unique outfits, decent dance moves.

But a smooth, catchy voice isn't exactly one of them, which is what makes the following cover so unexpected.

As part of a compilation CD in honor of Amnesty International's 50th anniversary - titled "Chimes of Freedom" - 76 artists have gathered to sing their own take on Bob Dylan classics. Among them are Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Adele, Maroon 5... and Ke$ha. Listen and react to her slowed-down version of "Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” now:

Two of music's more colorful characters are teaming up for a duet.

Ke$ha and Alice Cooper have come together for "What Baby Wants," a collaboration that will be featured on the latter's September 13 release, "Welcome 2 My Nightmares." What does it sound like? We're so glad you asked!

Ke$ha kicks off a U.S. tour on April 1 in Pennsylvania.

But the artist has been forced to cancel the subsequent Japanese leg of these concerts due to the natural disaster in the region that has claimed so many homes and lives.

In a statement, the singer said:

"My heart is with Japan right now through this disaster and these hardships. I genuinely don't think right now would be appropriate timing for me to perform in Japan given the content and the spirit of my show, which is all about feeling exuberant, rowdy, and wild.

"I plan to bring my party there and to that part of the world when we are all ready to dance and Get $leazy together again. In the meantime I am going to do everything I can to help relief efforts and I encourage everyone in the world to do the same."

In related music news, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and others will soon release a joint album whose proceeds all benefit the Japanese Red Cross.

Ke$ha has outdone herself this time.

No, the eccentric artist isn't wearing a crazy outfit or donning excessive face paint in the music video for "Blow." But she is hilariously interacting with former Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek.

“Well, well, well... if it isn’t James Van Der Douche,” Ke$ha says about halfway through. Responds the actor:“I don’t appreciate you slander-beeking my name, Ke-dollar sign-ha."

It makes very little sense, but don't worry: according to a disclaimer, “no mythological creatures were harmed in the making of this video."
