On last night's American Idol results show, viewers were treated to the past, present and future.

Lazaro Arbos, for example, is now a distant memory, following an unexpected run to the final six.

Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison and Angela Miller are the future, competing to see who will be crowned Season 12 champion.

And Kelly Clarkson? Well, she's all three, really. But in the present, she's the shining example of all every contestant wants to be: successful, funny, cool, talented... successful.

Watch as she returned Thursday to the stage that made her famous and performed "People Like Us."

Kelly Clarkson revealed at the 2013 ACM Awards Sunday night that her wedding to Brandon Blackstock will feature a well-known officiant: Blake Shelton!

The original American Idol, 30, told Entertainment Tonight's Nancy O'Dell that The Voice mentor will not just attend the nuptials, but conduct the wedding itself.

Kelly, Blake and Brandon go back a long way. Shelton says he had a huge hand in making sure Clarkson's fiance popped the question in a timely manner.

"I told Brandon, man, you need to grow up and figure out that you need to marry this girl," he told the site at the time. "I am going on the record here."

And Kelly Clarkson proved herself as the latter last night, taking the Academy of Country Music Awards stage for a performance of "Don't Rush."

Clarkson arrived at the event with royalty from this genre, walking the red carpet with future mother-in-law Reba McEntire, the stepmom of fiance Brandon Blackstock.

Howard Stern is on Team Kelly Clarkson.

With the original American Idol embroiled in a feud with producer Clive Davis - Clarkson believes Davis is a bully and a liar for passages in his new memoir - Stern spoke out yesterday in support of the artist.

"I always find it sickening when management guys like to set the record straight about how f--king creative and what geniuses they are," Stern said on his Sirius show.

"And, like, this guy's trying to diminish what she does? Doesn't he have enough in life? Can't he sort of tell his story without f--king degrading her and putting her down?"

Clive Davis is bisexual. The uber producer makes this admission in his new memoir, "The Soundtrack of My Life."

But that revelation isn't the focus of a new Kelly Clarkson rant, in which the singer reacts to passages in the book with anger and authority.

"Clive Davis is… spreading false information about me and my music," Clarkson wrote in a post on her WhoSay blog. "I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don't have to cower to anyone - even Clive Davis."

It's safe to say Kelly Clarkson had an enjoyable evening at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

The first-ever American Idol won Best Pop Vocal Album for "Stronger" and then proceeded to show the audience why, taking to the stage for a double tribute.

In the following video, Clarkson sings "Tennessee Waltz” as an homage to Patti Page and then segues into “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” in honor of the great Carole King.
