More than once so far on season eight of American Idol, finalist Allison Iraheta has been compared to the show's inaugural champion, Kelly Clarkson.

This may seem sacreligious to some, but the photos below will make it seem spot-on to others.

Has Iraheta been studing the original Idol winner? Compare their nearly-identical poses now:

Does Allison Iraheta look like Kelly Clarkson?

Meanwhile, another American Idol finalist has been compared to another major celebrity.

Let us know if you think Danny Gokey resembles Robert Downey Jr.!

In case you haven't heard, Jessica Simpson has been under fire this month for resembling an overweight grandmother.

Is it ever right to call out a woman for being fat? Probably not.

Clarkson Style

But does Simpson have a difficult time playing the victim when she's made a living off her image, inviting the world into her home for a reality show and seeking attention wherever she goes? Probably so.

Conversely, Kelly Clarkson has also battled weight issues over the years... but no one cares. The original American Idol simply goes about her business of making good music, garnering fame and fortune via actual vocal chops, as opposed to large breasts and pink Cowboys jerseys.

Here's a look at Clarkson over the years. Click on each photo for a larger version:

The moral of this contrast?

If you possess talent, the media will focus on your music. If you flaunt your body at every occasion, expect a backlash when it changes shape.

Sorry, Jessica.

We interrupt the latest round of American Idol season eight updates to bring you this breaking news related to a former show champion:

Kelly Clarkson is not a lesbian.

In a recent interview, the original Idol victor says she gets asked about her sexual preference "all the time." Her reply to those vagina-laden individuals that wish to take the singer home?

"I’m like, 'I’m glad it works for you and I wish I liked women like that because oftentimes men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.'"

Sorry, Tila Tequila.

Kelly Clarkson has nothing against boobs. But she only wants to fondle her own.

While a new American Idol will be crowned in approximately six months - season eight of the show premieres on Tuesday - let's not forget about this show's original champion.

Kelly Clarkson is releasing a new album in March. Here's the cover art for "All I Ever Wanted."

Meanwhile, the beautiful, talented singer is about to release the first single off the CD, titled "My Life Would Suck Without You." The Hollywood Gossip staff would like to think she's referring to us.

Take a listen to the song below:

While her High School Musical co-stars, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, receive all the attention, Ashley Tisdale is doing what she can to remain in the celebrity news.

In this case, that means dressing like the first-ever American Idol champion. And, of course, there are many worse people out there to emulate than Kelly Clarkson.

Scarlett Johansson, Nude Dress

Like Amy Winehouse.

So fans should be glad Tisdale has found such an appealing role model. But does she look better than Clarkson in the outfit below? You tell us!

We know who Jared Murillo is voting for.

The original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, gives a very candid and hilarious interview in the August 2007 issue of Blender.

In it, she speaks on how infrequently she kisses (let's just say this is no Katie Rees) - and how much she wishes she had never swapped spit with David Hodges:

Kelly Clarkson on The X Factor

On what she does in her free time: "You know, I never go out. If I'm in L.A., I'm usually at my house playing Guitar Hero."

On her lying music label, BMG: "Everyone keeps saying how hard this record because be because of all the crap surrounding it, but that last one was really hard to make. I literally got told to my face that it wouldn't sell more than 600,000 copies. And I got lied to. One reason I don't like working with people at the label is that they like. They told me, ‘We really want you to got Sweden. These people really want to write with you.'

So I flew to Sweden with lyrics I'd written to this track I'd been send, ‘Since U Been Gone.' I get there, and the writers are like, ‘Oh, we already have lyrics. We just want you to sing it.' It was really awkward. It was mean. That's why there's no relationship with them. Because I don't like to be lied to.

On ex-boyfriend David Hodges, former Evanescence keyboardist: "I didn't even really like the guy. I'm more mad at myself for being so blind. Why would I pick someone like him to date? What's wrong with me? … It's fine in the end. Maybe I had to go through that and learn more about myself. Maybe that's why I don't date much, either."

* The Hollywood Gossip note: One of these days, Brittany Murphy will have similar revelations about Simon Monjack. She just has to.

Kelly Clarkson and David Hodges are no longer dating. It's definitely his loss.

On how many boys she's made out with: "Four? No, wait. Oh my God, five! I have major trust issues. [laughs] I just don't make out with people. That's a waste of my kisses and time. And it's so personal. It's like, my face. Plus, I'm afraid of mouth herpes."

* The Hollywood Gossip note: We hope Britney Spears' new mystery man is paying close attention. Be careful, dude.

On her face-to-face meeting with music exec Clive Davis: "It was nice. IT was just the two of us, and his dog. I was like, I don't know you very well, and I am not a bulls******. I get you don't like the album. You're 80; you're not supposed to like my album. I said, ‘Clive, I'm going to make tons of albums. It doesn't have to be mainstream every time. Then he kept bringing up people he's worked with. ‘You're a Whitney! You're a [Mariah Carey]!' ‘First of all, Mariah writes a lot of her stuff. Secondly, I dont' want a career like either of those singers. That's why it's hard for us to make an album. You don't know me! You don't know what I like, and you don't know what my fans like."

The Hollywood Gossip staff loves Kelly Clarkson. Talk about keeping it real! Between her honestly and the almost nude Katharine McPhee pictures in Stuff magazine, it's been a solid week of celebrity gossip in the Idol world.

Kelly Clarkson battled bulimia in high school.

The first-ever American Idol champion opened up in an interview with CosmoGirl about her difficult past.

As reported through Us Weekly, Clarkson began to struggle with her body image after she was passed over for a part in her high school musical.

"I thought...If I came back and I'm cuter and thinner...then I'll get the role," she said.

For six months, Clarkson - like another past contestant, Katharine McPhee - was bulimic, until a friend discovered her problem.

"One of my guy friends caught on to it, and I just felt so ashamed and embarassed," she told the magazine. "I literally went cold turkey and snapped out of it."

Ever since, Clarkson has worked hard to foster a positive body image for herself and others. She talks about her backside, one we'd prefer any time to that of Jennifer Toof.

"I've got a butt, I'm Greek- I can't help that. And I think it's good for people to see normal."

Amen, Kelly. While we often joke about thin stars such as Keira Knightley, Nicole Richie and Kate Bosworth, eating disorders aren't funny. There's nothing wrong with junk in your trunk, ladies.

Kelly Clarkson isn't having the sort of summer an American Idol champion deserves.

She's suffered through a public feud with her record label and now the talented singer is actually canceling her upcoming tour. And she feels terrible about it.

"I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y'all," Clarkson wrote to fans on her website. The woman who preceded Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood and others then continued:

"In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won't be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon."

The truth is, however, that the woman who latest champ Jordin Sparks grew up idolizing simply couldn't sell enough tickets for her planned shows. She vows to do better, though.

"But I promise you that we're going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better. Thanks for all of your love and continued support."

We really do love you, Kelly. You seem to be one of the more open, honest celebrities out there. Sort of like Katherine Heigl without any hint of self-righteousness.

On Thursday Clarkson's rep, Paul Freundlich, said in a statement: "Plans for Kelly Clarkson's summer tour have been shelved for now as the singer and her team re-evaluate her show's size and scope â€" a decision made even more difficult by the impending release of her album, My December."

Fortunately, ticket holders can get refunds for Kelly's summer tour, but that's probably little comfort at the moment. They just wanna see their favorite artist perform, sort of like how we wanna see Amanda Beard nude in Playboy.

Like Katherine Heigl, pop star Kelly Clarkson is one of those rare celebs who's not afraid to say what's on her mind and answer interview questions honestly.

In a revealing new interview in Elle magazine, Kelly Clarkson confesses that she thinks she'd be a "horrible" mother, has never been in love, and doesn't necessarily want to get married.

Hey, Britney Spears is 0-2 in the marriage department. So maybe Kelly's brutal honestly, while unromantic, has something to it. Just saying.

And she doesn't stop there. The 25-year-old American Idol winner also opens up about her well-publicized disputes with her record label, saying that Clive Davis offered her $10 million to give up five tracks she wrote for her new album.

See interview excerpts below for more of Kelly's thoughts on being famous, her tumultuous childhood, and the controversy over her next album. Also, check out the picture of Kelly Clarkson below, in which she's looking downright Sanjaya Malakar-esque.

On not wanting children:
"My point of view is that I shouldn't be a mother at all, because I'd be horrible. I'm not willing to be that selfless."

On marriage:
"I'm not keen on marriage. I don't let many people in. Men come and go. Friends are what I care about."

THG NOTE: Hear that, Heidi Montag? Dump Spencer, pick up the phone and apologize to LC! Do it now, dammit!

On being famous:
"I could give a crap about being a star. I've always just wanted to sing and write."

On being ambivalent about her success:

"It is weird when a 12-year-old tells me I am their favorite artist. I'm always like, It's just because you're young and you haven't heard everybody yet. In time, I'll be weeded out. And that's cool. I know I'm a good singer, but I know who I am, too."

On her bad qualities:
"I tend to be early. I'm not patient. I have no tolerance for stupidity. I work too much. All my conversations revolve around my job. So I'm boring."

On never having been in love:
"I know people probably think I've been heartbroken, because of the stuff I've sung and written. I love my friends and family. But I have never said the words ‘I love you' to anyone in a romantic relationship. Ever. I am very old-school, conservative when it comes to relationships. Love is something you work at. It doesn't come easily. There are going to be bad days. You are going to have to work at loving someone when they are being an idiot. People think they're just going to meet the perfect guy. Don't be ridiculous."

THG NOTE: Except for those rare cases when Mr. Right (a.k.a. Simon Monjack) mysteriously appears at your door. And needs to get married ASAP before he gets deported.

On unflattering celebrity gossip articles and paparazzi shots:
"I'm fine with it. I just don't care. I don't wear makeup in public. I don't worry about what I'm wearing. Hell, I wore pajamas in high school."

On battling with industry executives over the release of My December:
"I've sold more than 15 million records worldwide, and still nobody listens to what I have to say. Because I'm 25 and a woman."

On declining an offer of $10 million by Clive Davis to ditch five of her songs for more radio-friendly picks of his choosing:
"I am a good singer, so I can't possible be a good writer. Women can't possibly be good at two things. I haven't lost my temper about it. It only drives me more. If your thing is to bring me down, cool. I'll just work harder."

THG NOTE: Like Katharine McPhee and countless others, Kelly has clashed with the bigwigs in the music biz. But she's emerged better for it. Take note of this Jordin Sparks, as you begin your own promising career.

Typically, this would involve candle wax, handcuffs and the closest male with a British accent - but the former American Idol champion isn't comparing herself to Calum Best, don't worry.

Instead, Kelly Clarkson is telling people that her record label, RCA, asked her to cover a song by a certain red-haired, loose actress.

Lohan: What a Freakin' Mess

"My label literally sent me a Lindsay Lohan track from her last album and wanted me to record it for my new album," the American Idol winner tells MTV News.

"And while I like Lindsay Lohan, like I'm cool with her and I think she sings the song well ... it's already been on an album. I don't care what pop star it is."

Clarkson says she was offended by the suggestion - and wants people to vote for her as their favorite Idol over Carrie Underwood.

"They were just sending me stuff that was like almost insulting. I'm like, 'You can't even find new songs? You don't want me to write my album but you're sending me hand me downs?' " she tells MTV News. "I ended up writing the entire thing with the people that I write well with."

Sounds like quite the storm brewing. Is this the sort of controversy Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks or the winner of this year's competition will need to deal with in a few years?

Meanwhile, Kelly's new album was completed in January and My December will hit stores on June 26. Simon Cowell has already bashed it probably.
