Katy Perry is so excited about the prospect of a collaboration with BFF Rihanna, she may have put her foot in her mouth discussing the potential project.

Perry weighed in on the forthcoming song (which undoubtedly will be a catchy #1 hit with those two working together), with an apparent dig at Beyonce:

"We've collaborated on things, just not songs yet. It's one of those things that's got so much build-up that we have to deliver," she said on BBC Radio 1.

  • Beyonce in Concert

"I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song 'Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves,' not 'Beautiful Liar.' I definitely want to do something iconic."

Beyonce's 2007 track "Beautiful Liar," featuring Shakira, isn't her best song, but it did reach No. 1 on the iTunes best-seller list and U.S. Hot Singles Sales.

Perry doesn't have a reputation for starting beef with other celebs, so we're guessing she did not mean it as an insult ... even if it sort of reads that way.

Maybe Bey and Katy can collaborate next and bury the hatchet in this non-feud?

In sort of related news, KP sort of embarrassed herself covering "N****s In Paris" by Jay-Z and Kanye West at the same BBC Radio 1 appearance.

Private Perry, reporting for duty! Pop superstar Katy Perry debuted the teaser trailer for her ‘Part of Me’ music video today, and she's ready for combat!

Showing the Grammy Award-nominated singer preparing for battle in full army gear, the 25-second tease hints at an interesting final product to say the least.

The song, already a hit for Perry, features female-empowering lyrics that some say are a direct slap at ex Russell Brand, though Katy has denied this.

Will the video reveal a similar message, whatever that might be? We’ll find out when it fully premieres Wednesday, March 21. For now, the trailer ...

Despite some lyrics that make clear reference to a relationship falling apart and love gone wrong, Katy Perry insists "Part of Me" isn't about Russell Brand.

"I wrote it two years ago, which is funny because everybody is like 'God, it sounds so current,'" the pop star, 27, told MTV News about her latest single.

The song is full of jabs - "You can keep the diamond ring/It don't mean nothing anyway" etc. - leading many to conclude that it was a dig at Russell.

Not the case, says Perry, whose split with Brand remains amicable.

Katy and Russell wed in October 2010 and split in December 2011.

"Some people that I work with were like, 'Just say you wrote it a couple of weeks ago,'" she says. "I'm like, 'I'm not a d---, I'm going to tell the truth.'"

"I wrote it two years ago when I was writing and recording Teenage Dream, [but] it didn't feel right on the record. It's not about [Russell Brand]."

Still, Perry admits that the timing is eerie in a sense.

"Sometimes I'm like, 'Am I living in The Truman Show?' It just feels like sometimes I'm caught in this movie where my life is paralleling my music!"

"It seems very serendipitous, but, as un-fun as it sounds, I prepare everything. I'm overly prepared and kind of a control freak in the best of ways."

Will "The One That Got Away" be Katy Perry's sixth straight #1 hit?

She hopes so, and thinks today's video release date might be good luck.

On Ellen DeGeneres' show this morning, Katy noted that if you took six #1's and lined them up, you'd get 11/11/11. We totally didn't think of that earlier.

Check out the video, which debuted during her interview with Ellen, and see if you think it's up there with some of her other recent, instant pop hits:

Not bad, huh? She sure does love dressing up in elaborate costumes.

On a really cool note, Perry announced that she will be holding a special free concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles for all her fans on November 23! Free!

Switching gears, she says she wants to start "poppin' kids left and right" before long.

"As long as it doesn't hurt the first time. I'll keep popping them out," Katy claims.

So basically, she and Russell are only gonna have one kid, but it'll be cute!

Rocker Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes fame recently spoke out about the music of her contemporary namesake Katy Perry. In less than flattering terms.

Linda, who has also written songs for Pink, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and other young stars, was asked in an interview to pick the worst artist today.

Katy Perry topped her list.

Linda told music journalist Heath Daniels that Katy Perry only churns out tracks she compares to junk food, and is emblematic of the industry today.

"It's just different, it's different," Linda says. "You listen to the Adele record, and I'm not a huge fan of Adele, it's a solid record. Solid, and it's selling."

"So that means people are still buying records. It's the crap, like who wants a f--king Katy Perry record? I'm sorry, you know? You're gonna get the two hits that are good, but the rest of the album is gonna be crap."

So much for "I Kissed a Girl" making her a one-hit wonder.

Katy Perry and Michael Jackson may not have much in common, but they're the only artists in music history to post five #1 hits from the same album.

Perry is therefore, obviously, the first woman ever to achieve the feat thanks to hits from Teenage Dream. "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" is now the fifth.

  • Hot Smurfette
  • The Late King of Pop

Interestingly, Michael's iconic album Thriller didn't achieve the feat, but its follow-up Bad, with hits like "Man in the Mirror" and "Smooth Criminal," did.

Jackson spent a total of seven weeks at the top with his Bad songs, while Perry has occupied the top spot now for a record cumulative 18 weeks.

Katy Perry cannot be stopped.

The singer's first movie role (voiceover only, granted) helped The Smurfs earn a tie for first place at the box office this weekend, while the singer has also made music history on the Billboard chart:

"Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" is Katy's fifth single off "Teenage Dream" to hit number-one on Billboard's Pop Song chart, making her the only artist in the chart's nearly 20-year history to accomplish such a feat.

All this, and she's a 10 in bed!

When Katy Perry opens her mouth, multiple #1 hits come out.

Only recently, something else did, if you know what we mean.

Katheryn Perry

We mean that the Teenage Dream singer was forced to cancel concerts for Friday and Saturday after suffering food poisoning and severe dehydration.

The concerts, which were to occur in Chicago and St. Paul, have been rescheduled. Perry, at the very least, already posted the new dates on Twitter:

"Chicago and St. Paul: I'm so sorry to have to postpone today and tomorrow's shows. But I'll be back 8/21 (CHI) and 8/23 (St. Paul)! I am going to return in a couple of weeks to give them the very best show ever!"

She hopes to be back in Regina, Saskatchewan, on Wednesday.

Get well soon, Katy!

Keenan Cahill is at it again.

The Illinois teen, who has made a name for himself by recruiting celebrities to lip sync with him online to a number of pop hits, appears in a new video alongside Glee cast members Harry Shum Jr., Dianna Agron, Darren Criss and Jenna Ushkowitz.

Watch below, as Cahill - who is affected by Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome - and this all-star squad dance around to Katy Perry's “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).”

Other stars that have teamed with Chaill include 50 Cent, David Guetta, Pauly D, Brian Wilson and Cody Ross.

If her latest single, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" can top the pop charts, Katy Perry will achieve something only one other artist ever has (and no female has).

Katy already has four No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits from Teenage Dream. Currently #4 and climbing, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" would give her five.

Michael Jackson is the only other artist to chart five number one hits from a single album (1982's Thriller). That's exclusive company, you gotta admit.

The four #1s from Teenage Dream are the title track, "E.T.", "California Gurls" and "Firework." "I Kissed a Girl," from her previous album, also hit #1.

In Love With Perry

Breasts, elaborate costumes and catchy hooks go a long way.
