Watch out! Katy Perry is ROARing about a social media phenomenon taking over the world. Oh yes, we're talking about the selfie.

Katy Perry says selfies are a disease and refused to take one for a fan this weekend at Coachella. She relented, but only after the fan agreed to be in the photo with Perry, and not without tweeting out a message to her KatyCats.

Katy Perry Selfies

A study recently found that selfie-taking is linked to increased narcissism and mental illness. In her mind, refusing to take the selfie and sharing a warning with her fans was probably a public service announcement, but we kind of think more pictures of Katy Perry in the world does just as much good.

It's true that a glance at Katy Perry's Instagram feed shows only a few selfies, but that doesn't stop her from being photographed while all glammed up and nearly naked for various magazines and music videos.

Katy Perry's just released video for "Dark Horse" is what a trip through what Ancient Egypt might have looked like... if you were on acid.

"Memphis, Egypt: a crazy long time ago..." reads the title card. Crazy is right.

It's like all her extras wandered off the set of the next Hunger Games movie. Katy must be representing whatever district handles naked snake wrangling. And pole dancing.

Which part is better: When she gets super mad over what appear to be crunchy Cheetos or when she turns the dude into sand so she can steal his bejeweled grill?

Or maybe Jiff the Pomeranian's cameo? Because nothing says "ancient Egypt" like a fluffy dog famous on the internet.

"Dark Horse," which features Academy Award winner Juicy J, is the third single of Katy's album Prism.

The video is quite a change from her goth-inspired Grammy performance earlier this year, though both are equally bizarre...

Five decades after changing the music scene forever, The Beatles brought artists from a variety of genres together last night.

Exactly 50 years to the date after John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr debuted on The Ed Sullivan Show, CBS aired "The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles."

It featured such acts as Maroon 5, Stevie Wonder and Katy Perry, all paying tribute to the legendary band via covers of their greatest hits.

And the event concluded with the group's two surviving members, McCartney and Starr, singing a duet of "Hey Jude."

We have no idea why Justin Bieber wasn't invited to participate, but take in a number of memorable performances from the evening now:

Katy Perry and John Mayer sort of dissed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's "Bound 2" music video in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres today.

The cute couple joked with Ellen about how their own cheesy music video for "Who You Love" stacks up with Kimye's much-parodied love-fest.

"Was it your response to Kim and Kanye's 'Bound 2?'" she asked.

"Yes. I thought our response was a little bit more authentic because my hair was blowing in the right direction, though," Katy Perry joked of the video.

"She was facing backwards, right? So her hair should have been [blowing the other direction]," DeGeneres added of Kim straddling her baby daddy.

In the "Who You Love" video, Perry, Mayer and other couples ride a mechanical bull together. A metaphor for rocky relationships, perhaps? Sounds like it.

John Mayer, Katy Perry and a mechanical bull star in the new music video for "Who You Love, the third single off of the singer-songwriter's Paradise Valley album.

Premiering today on Good Morning America, the video features Mayer, Perry and other couples riding a mechanical bull before shooting off confetti cannons.

"We set a casting call up for real couples. It's just so authentic ... they were having a great time," Mayer, 36, says of the collaboration with his girlfriend.

"There's nothing scripted except putting the bull in the middle of the desert."

Katy adds, "Relationships are kind of like riding a bull  ... you hold on for dear life. Sometimes you get a little a little buck here and there, but you get back on."

She was up for the collaboration ... both personally and professionally.

"[John]'s just a fantastic partner," she added. "I've been a fan of his for such a long time. He's got a brilliant, brilliant mind. It's a rad, mature relationship."

Check out the video we posted earlier Tuesday of Katy Perry lip-syncing live, then watch an interview with Mayer and his girlfriend after the jump ...

There are still 28 days left in December, but that doesn't mean we can't go ahead and begin looking at the year in review, starting with this video of the 20 most overplayed songs of 2013 performed in a one minute mashup.

From "Get Lucky" to "Royals" to "Roar," Chad Neidt covers this year's top songs in this guitar medley. Also included are "What Does The Fox Say," Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," and Robin Thicke's summer anthem "Blurred Lines."

Katy Perry has released her music video for "Unconditionally," and while her smash hit single "Roar" was jungle-themed ... this one features an owl subplot.

She dropped the video last night with this Tweet: "Yes, unconditional love sometimes feels like being hit by a car... Or being on fire... How does it feel to you?"

Both of the aforementioned incidents happen to Perry in the video, which is a real hoot, if you follow. We're going for an owl-themed play on words.

Watch the "Unconditionally" music video below and see for yourself:

Katy Perry previous said that she wanted this video to focus on both "beauty and glamor," and be unlike "Roar" or anything she's produced in the past.

Mission accomplished. Touching on all the different elements, fans will see the lovely singer in different settings while emotionally singing into the camera.

The high-production music video provides plenty of artistic imagery, while being partially inspired by her romance with John Mayer (no, he doesn't appear).

What do you think of Katy Perry's "Unconditionally" video?

Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson singing karaoke together in a classic video from 2008 has surfaced, and to fans of either star it's nothing short of awesome.

The only bad thing is that it's only a minute and a half long. Check it out:

The friends shared the stage for a duet on Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to You" while celebrating a mutual friend's birthday at Dimples, a Burbank karaoke bar.

They start off in separate chairs, but at one point Katy Perry decides that her chair is "too high to make love" and climbs onto the Twilight star's lap.

Which is great for comedic effect, and because of the occasional Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson rumors that surface in the celebrity gossip world.

Other highlights of this vintage viral video classic:

  • Katy in her hipster-style checked winter hat!
  • Rob really going for some of the big notes!
  • The fact that neither of them sound like professional singers at all, which is the whole point of karaoke, but in this case one of them actually is.
