It's finally time for the party of the year.

Kathy Beth Terry, a.k.a. Katy Perry, stars in the official music video for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," a work that actually lives up to its significant hype.

Featuring Rebecca Black, Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, Hanson, Kenny G, Debbie Gibson and Corey Feldman, this is more than an average music video.

An eight-minute short film would be more accurate, with KP and her many outfit changes paying homage to all things geeky, '80s and '90s.

Check it out and see what you think:

Katy Perry changed costumes 15 times in Atlanta Tuesday night on the latest stop of her "Teenage Dream" tour. That's impressive enough for a night's work, but eight of them took place during the course of a single song!

Using a magic trick she first saw on America's Got Talent, Katy took the meaning of her own lyric, "You change your mind like a girl changes clothes," to a new level.

Watch her do her thing during "Hot N Cold" here ...

How exactly does she pull this off?

Legally, she can't say even if she were so inclined. Katy recently told Entertainment Weekly what prompted her to add the trick to her routine.

"I saw these two magicians do it on America's Got Talent, and I thought, ‘I'll have them teach me the trick and we'll incorporate it,'" she said.

"But before I could I had to sign a nondisclosure agreement saying that I wouldn't give away the secrets behind the magic trick."

It's Friday again, folks!

In a new teaser for her upcoming music video, for the single "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," Katy Perry welcomes a special guest: 13-year old singer Rebecca Black!

Around the 16-second mark below, you can see Black donning a 1980s-themed dress. Perry also honored Black with a cover of "Friday" on her tour earlier this year. The official video for Perry's next hit comes out on June 14...

Russell Brand flew to Japan to accompany his new wife Katy Perry to her concert there. Unfortunately for the spouses, only one of them was allowed entry.

Katy is in the middle of the Asian leg of her tour and Russell came along for the ride ... until Japanese officials detailed Russell and later sent him packing!

Perry explained that it was all due to "priors from over 10 years ago!" Since Brand has been arrested many, many times, that's a logical assumption.

In Good Spirits

Russell, who's anything but shy about his past, took the incident in stride, Tweeting absurd pictures like this one while being held at the Tokyo airport.

The British comedian even Tweeted at one point that he was "Planning escape from Japanese custody. It's bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick."

Then, moments later, he followed that up with: "Stockholm syndrome kicking in. Just asked my guard out for (vegetarian) sushi. He giggled."

For her part, Katy wrote: "Of COURSE I ♥ my Japanese fans & the show #MUSTGOON no matter the daily aftershocks or husband kidnappings!"

These two rule.

Wow. To say this is one of the better Katy Perry pictures out there would be a lie. But it does offer insight into a different side of the voluptuous pop singer.

It's no "Born This Way" (or more appropriately, "Firework") but there's something endearing and encouraging about the cover KP's Last Friday Night.

Basically, kids, geeky glasses and orthodontic headgear won't keep you from being desirable and successful as heck someday. It probably gets better, nerds!

Katy Perry: NERD!

We can only hope for a full-length video.

With an assist from Kanye West, Katy Perry brought her futuristic new single "E.T." to American Idol last night - skin-tight LED-laden bodysuit and all.

Performing her new hit song, the singer warbled her way through the pop song as she was surrounded by dancers dressed in alien-inspired costumes.

Much like the "E.T." music video, Katy embodied the outer-space theme, carried onto the stage by her alien dance troupe at the start of the song.

The studio audience, who also saw David Cook perform last night, was surprised to see West joining Katy on stage for his verse. Here's their duet:

We've seen the promo pics. Now Katy Perry's music video for "E.T." has been released. She and Kanye take us to a whole new dimension up in this piece.

The voluptuous star floats in space in extravagant costumes, singing and romancing a Wall-E doppelganger and then some other alien guy. Pretty cool.

All the while, Kanye West raps about getting probed by aliens while floating in a really fancy space ship. Then Katy turns into a minotaur or something.

We're done trying to describe it. Just watch the "E.T." video here:

Katy Perry's new music video is for her song "E.T." But rather than Steven Spielberg's alien creation of decades past, she's channeling Lady Gaga and Avatar.

Or so it would appear in these promotional pics released by her label, Capitol, in advance of the video. Maybe with a little David Bowie thrown in there as well?

Click on the Katy Perry pictures below to enlarge some of her various looks for the video. Whatever she's going for, her style is out of this world (booo!) ...

Katy Perry treated a Paris crowd to a rendition of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" Monday night. An acoustic version, no less. Pretty cool stuff.

Perry paid the Mother Monster the ultimate compliment during her show at Le Zenith concert hall, where she's in town for Fashion Week.

Katy's stripped-down homage was aided by just two acoustic guitars. Fans can only hope Gaga follows suit with a "Firework" cover ...
