With her two-year-old haircut and circa 1991 rolled-up, Katie Holmes took her daughter Suri Cruise to a playground in Manhattan on Tuesday.

After catching a glimpse of her reflection in a storefront window, however, Katie made an urgent phone call. Suri Cruise didn't try to stop her.

Seriously. We might as well rename our celebrity fashion category the Katie Holmes fashion nightmare category. The material is endless.

Last week, it was her circa 1991 jeans. Oh so sexy. This weekend, it's a little thing Mrs. Cruise likes to call "referee chic." What a bust.

Don't even get us started on Katie Holmes' hair, either. Sometimes, married people just let themselves go. It's the only way to explain it.

Man, just when you think Katie Holmes "fashion" has hit rock bottom, the former hottie plunges to new depths. Those faded, tightly-rolled jeans were just destined to become a celebrity fashion trend.

The actress takes a casual approach in trouser pants, a navy button-down shirt and sensible loafers as she left the set of Eli Stone in L.A.

Suri Cruise loves her some musicals. And bottles of formula.

And Garber couldn't have been happier to hear about his new 2-year-old fan, little Suri Cruise, admitting: "I love that that's part of their life."

Holmes, who is due to make her Broadway debut this fall in the Arthur Miller play All My Sons is currently filming her role for the ABC show.

In what has to be the biggest piece of stunt casting since How I Met Your Mother snagged Britney Spears, Entertainment Weekly reports that Katie Holmes will be returning to the small screen this fall on ABC's Eli Stone.

The guest starring role, which should give a nice boost to the critically adored but marginally-rated series, marks a reunion between Holmes and her former Dawson's Creek boss, Eli Stone executive producer Greg Berlanti.

A spokesperson for the show declined to comment, but Michael Ausiello reports that the proud mother of Suri Cruise will be in one episode.

After shooting later this month, Mrs. Tom Cruise will head to New York, where she'll be making her Broadway debut in All My Sons.

"I grew up in an environment full of athletes and unfortunately I'm not one of them. But my parents and I were always very healthy," the mom of Suri Cruise told Shape.

"We even go running on Thanksgiving - I mean, what family does that? It has to be before the big turkey dinner. My dad is really ambitious and makes us all go. Exercise is definitely important, but the long hours sometimes prevent me from being a good girl and getting my cardiovascular workout."

Well, it's hard to argue with that. All of that effort it must take to run and hide from a crazy Tom Cruise is sure to shed the extra pounds.

We understand kids want to look like their moms... but this must be cruel and unusual punishment, don't you think? We know the Bush administration doesn't care about civil liberties, but there's gotta be a law against this.
