It's been awhile, but Star, In Touch, OK! and their ilk decided to give Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie the week off as the subject of myriad ridiculous tabloid covers.

Taking Brangelina's place in the first of the aforementioned celebrity gossip rags? A rare TomKat sighting! It's like some editor just remembered that they exist!

We haven't seen a good story about Katie Holmes being trapped in Tom Cruise's evil clutches in forever (well, December), but this one makes up for lost time!

In addition to insinuating that Tom got her pregnant with baby #2 (which he is supposedly willing to give her $75 million for), Star says that Katie Holmes:

• Is getting "prenatal Scientology lessons (whatever that consists of)
• Is going through "agonizing" detox (of what, who the frick knows)
• Is having her "leash tightened" (yes, they just likened her to a dog)

PRISON WITHOUT BARS: For Katie Holmes, there is no escape.

For someone supposedly under intense mind control and chained in Tom Cruise's torture dungeon, Katie seems awfully content, albeit a little frumpy lately.

Katie and Tom first got together in 2005. Suri Cruise is thriving and cute. Everyone seems status quo and happy. Could it be that TomKat isn't that abnormal?

That, or the perks of being married to Tom must be really good.

December 18 is a good day for celebrity birthdays.

From acclaimed actors to celebrity gossip staples (sometimes those two overlap) to Grammy-winning singers, crazy beauty queens and rappers who've been arrested approximately 147 times, this day in history produced them all.

Another week, another great tabloid cover from OK!

We haven't heard a whole lot from Katie Holmes in awhile, probably because she's been let out of her cage long enough to do some of her own projects.

Meanwhile, her husband, Tom Cruise, is overseas filming the action-romance Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz. Is the separation hurting their marriage?

Rumors that the couple, who celebrated their three-year anniversary November 18, have separated because of marital tensions are running rampant.

On the contrary, though, OK! can exclusively make up report that Tom and Katie reached a deal on expanding their family: for $75 million, she'll do it!!

In other news, Tiger Woods apparently "reveals what really happened" in this issue. We doubt it, unless they mean how he lost the PGA Championship to Y.E. Yang.

While right now work is Katie's first priority, which Tom doesn’t agree with, she plans to get pregnant "sometime in the next year." And in return?

Well, she becomes $75 million more "vested" in Tom's fortune. Talk about a romantic offer. Wonder how much she got for creating Suri Cruise.

Part of the reason for Katie's independent streak? She wants to feel like an equal partner in the marriage for once, not just the wife of a megastar.

“She no longer feels like she’s just Mrs. Cruise. She’s her own person again,” a pal tells OK! of the couple’s decision. “She and Tom have their disagreements, but deep down they love each other very much. That’s what is important.”

That and creating celebrity gossip "news" like this.

Kids. They grow up so fast.

It seems like just yesterday that Suri Cruise was born, and we thought she might not have even been real. But she was. And soon became probably one of our favorite celebrity babies of all time. Seriously. She is so cute.

Now, Suri Cruise is almost three-and-a-half years old. It's hard to believe how the time flies. One day, their first fecal matter is immortalized in bronze. The next ...

Sorry. Someone actually did that, though, so we're not crazy. What we were trying to say is she may not be a celebrity baby anymore, but she's no less adorable.

Case in point? This photo from the weekend in Boston, where Tom Cruise is filming his new movie Wichita. This tender mother-daughter moment says everything:

Katie Holmes graces the cover of Elle Magazine's "Women in Hollywood" issue, and we have to say, the wife of Tom Cruise actually looks pretty darn good.

Below are some excerpts from her interview.

On family life: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”

On life as a working mom on the Broadway set: “[Suri Cruise] would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.“

Katie Holmes: Gorgeous, less robotic than usual!

On fashion: “I love Alaïa, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it’s very American, and I’m pretty all-American, from Ohio."

"Also, Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron."

On the genre of film she loves most: “It can be any genre. I even like vampire movies – they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I’m not interested.”

Any fan of Hollywood gossip and style knows that are plenty of amazing, beautiful celebrity hairstyles out there that commoners wish they could emulate.

Katie Holmes does not have one of those hairstyles.

The actress famously cut her beautiful, long hair into a Victoria Beckham-esque bob with straight bangs in 2008, only to grow it back out in early 2009.

Either way, all we can say is ick.

The wife of Tom and the mother of Suri Cruise may be joining the cast of the Sex and the City movie sequel, if some recent rumors are to be believed.

Thankfully, the star is not planning to replace Jennifer Hudson as Sarah Jessica Parker's lovestruck personal assistant, nor hooking up with Mr. Big.

We hope.

Word is she's wanted to play a high-powered young businesswoman ready to go toe-to-toe with Kim Cattrall's take-no-prisoners Samantha Jones.

Katie most recently "performed" on So You Think You Can Dance last week. We use that term very loosely, as there was little dancing and no singing in likely the most overhyped, overrated guest appearance in that show's history.

Katie Holmes on So You Think You Can Dance

Our heart goes out to Katie Holmes, following today's tragic family news.

The actress' brother-in-law has passed away.

Joseph Jeffrey Fretti - the 48-year-old husband of Holmes' older sister Tamera - died of heart failure Sunday.

Reportedly, Fretti was found dead by a family friend. His body was discovered in the Sarasota home of his mom, as he had taken his two young kids to visit their 76-year-old grandmother.

Fretti was the owner of a funeral home in Holmes' hometown of Toledo, Ohio.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes take education very seriously so much so that they have reportedly doled out a whopping $1 million on classes for their kid.

This wouldn't be as incredible if Suri Cruise weren't two.

According to Showbizspy, Cruise and his wife are keen for the cute little tyke to have a well-rounded upbringing, and are spending a fortune to make it so.

A source reveals:

"It doesn't matter what [Suri Cruise] is doing, Tom wants her to be better than any other child. All parents think their kids are special, but Suri is learning the ways of Xenu French and Spanish and has a tutor she sees once a week."

One happy, overachieving family.

"Suri has shown a real love of Scientology dancing, so Tom and Katie are encouraging her. She practices ballet, tap and modern dance for hours, nearly every day. She also started taking private gymnastics lessons and is learning soccer."

Katie Holmes is convinced that socializing with older kids will benefit her daughter:

"Katie likes to have Victoria and David Beckham's two sons around, since they are older. She thinks Suri will emulate what they do and learn faster."
