Turns out the rumors were trueL Tom Cruise was as surprised as everyone else when news broke that he and Katie Holmes were getting a divorce.

"I did not expect that," Cruise told German TV network ProSieben.

After five years of marriage, Holmes announced she was leaving Cruise on June 29 of last year which left the movie star both heartbroken and blindsided.

However, the star - who's making the media rounds for Oblivion - reveals he has had "an incredible amount of time to reflect" on life after the break up.

Rumors of a Suri Cruise body double being spotted all over New York City emerged last week in what is either a hilarious rumor ... or hilariously true.

The Daily News spotted Suri’s alleged double as recently as Friday afternoon, after her mom, actress Katie Holmes, picked her up from her school.

They were trailed, as always, by celebrity gossip photographers.

Mother and daughter hopped into a black SUV and headed down to TriBeCa for lunch, until the vehicle made an unexpected stop at a police precinct.

Out popped the doppelganger with the same coat as Suri Cruise, 6. And the same black leggings and Ugg-type tan boots with pink soles as Suri.

Katie Holmes was named one of GQ's sexiest women of the 21st century, due in large part to her somewhat random topless scene in the 2000 film The Gift.

The magazine pays homage to the film and Holmes' half-nude role, awarding her the honor of Hottest Scene: Can't Believe This Happened category.

"She has the same Joey Potter tics: head tilts, shoulder shrugs up, lips chew down into a lopsided grin," writer Mark Lotto says, referencing Dawson's Creek.

"But then she [reveals] her un-Joey-Potter-like breasts - exquisitely breast-like breasts, the breasts you would think of if someone said the word 'breasts.'"

Lotto jokes that Tom Cruise watches it when he feels nostalgic.

"And every time topless Katie taunts [Greg Kinnear] with a 'F-ck you,' Tom feels as if she's talking to him, and he thinks some terribly Greg Kinnearish things."

Katie Holmes apparently walked away nothing other than relatively modest child support in her divorce from Tom Cruise ... which is all she wanted.

From the onset, it was reported that Katie wanted nothing from Tom other than a divorce and for him to comfortably support their daughter Suri.

Mission accomplished on both fronts.

Sources familiar with documents filed with the court indicate that Katie received no lump sum payout in the couple's recent divorce settlement.

This is consistent with the prenup she signed which shuts her out of Tom's fortune. She also received nothing in the way of spousal support.

Tom has agreed to pay Katie $400,000 a year in child support, or $33,333.33, until Suri turns 18, coming in a shade under $5 million total.

He'll also cover her medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other costs, but for a man worth over $250 million, it's hardly an issue.

Also interesting: Suri Cruise cannot go to a "residential school" from now through her high school years ... i.e. no boarding school for her.

Katie could have fought for more support, but Suri brought them together even as they were divorcing and they opted to settle quickly.

A pair of celebrity gossip tabloids apparently have their collective fingers on the pulse of all things Suri Cruise. It's like they're reading her every thought.

According to In Touch Weekly and Star Magazine, the youngster's thoughts on the recent bombshell Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce are quite clear:

If you believe this (dis)reputable pair of magazines, Suri Cruise was won over by her dad during his recent get-together with her - a $170,000 getaway.

Possibly accompanied by Scientology chaperones, the lavish reunion clearly did the trick, with Suri allegedly pleading to be with Tom over Katie now.

Suri Cruise, mind you, is six years old.

Despite this fact - and that the two settled their divorce and custody pact already in a relatively amicable manner, we're supposed to believe this?

In (slightly) more comprehensible news, the stunning Yolanda Pecoraro is said to be in the running to be the next Mrs. Tom Cruise for a few years.

Six weeks prior to filing for divorce from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes sat down for an interview with Elle in which she clearly hinted that something in her marriage was amiss. The actress talked of a new phase.

Meanwhile, a feature on the actress in the latest C Magazine was actually taped just one day before Holmes announced her intentions to split from her husband - and it also portends a different path for the brunette beauty.

For one thing, Holmes never mentions Cruise by name.

For another, she looks ahead and tells the publication: “I’m ready to take on some more challenging roles. I feel like I worked so much at such a young age that I really wanted to have life experiences. I feel more balanced and like I have more to bring to the table. I always felt like I wanted to catch up [in my personal life] to what I was doing [in my career].”

And Holmes is standing by those words. She recently booked a gig on Broadway.

Another sign that all was not well at the time between Tom and Katie? Asked if having Suri brought the couple closer together, the 33-year old star replied: “I don’t know. I mean... I don’t know. People have been having babies a long time.”

Not exactly a ringing family endorsement there.
