With Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton awaiting the imminent arrival of their first child, the UK can't wait to see who is third in line to the throne.

The duo, known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since the royal wedding of April 2011, announced they were expecting in December.

The very pregnant Kate Middleton is due July 11 or July 13, depending on what you read. It matters little at this stage. Either way, that's any day now!

Kate Middleton is due to give birth on July 11, but will she go into labor early?

Obviously, we have no way of knowing that, but there's a plan in place if so.

If the baby shows signs of coming earlier than expected, she will be flown by helicopter from Anglesey, Wales, to London's St. Mary's Hospital.

Once checked in, she hopes to give birth naturally. However, should she run into delivery complications, an insider says "she will have a C-section."

The baby will be announced via a bulletin behind the gates of Buckingham Palace reading "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a child."

According to a palace aide, "There will be gun salutes, flag flying and bells. It's very exciting."

She's still marveling at the wonder of it all, says a source.

"Kate finds pregnancy fascinating," an insider claims. "She still says, 'I simply can't believe it' when you talk to her about a baby being inside her.'"

The father-to-be is just as transfixed, the source adds.

Kate Middleton is due to give birth to the royal heir(ess) in just a few weeks ... which makes this celebrity gossip tabloid cover nothing short of amazing.

Kate Middleton Delivery

Promising ALL THE DETAILS of the royal birth, Life & Style omits just one:

  1. Kate Middleton hasn't actually delivered the royal baby yet.

Despite this minor discrepancy, her family and security team have "rushed to the hospital," while Prince William has been "torn" from his wife's side.

Life & Style has taken up writing some historical fiction, apparently.

Prince William was the best man at the wedding of his friend Thomas van Straubenzee over the weekend, but his wife Kate Middleton was a no-show.

The reason was obvious: Kate is due in a matter of weeks and did not want to risk going into labor early (a la Kim Kardashian) at such an occasion.

Prince Harry, as an usher, was there along with his girlfriend Cressida Bonas and Kate's sister Pippa Middleton, so Kate not coming was notable.

Because the nuptials took place at Alnwick Castle, a 300-mile drive from where Kate and William live, she decided to take it easy. Probably smart.

With so much attention focused on the birth of Lil' Kimye, and the rumored Kim Kardashian baby name floating around, we almost forgot about the royal baby.

Okay, no we didn't. The UK and much of the world are eagerly anticipating his or her arrival in July, but don't expect many details before that.

Royal officials can't say if it's a boy or girl, for instance, and not 'cause they're being coy. Kate Middleton and Prince William chose not to find out!

"They don't know the sex of the baby and have decided not to find out," said a royal official who spoke on condition of anonymity under Palace guidelines.

That's one way to keep the gender under wraps ...

The pregnant Kate Middleton and Kim Kardashian are due the same day, according to a new tabloid report. All we have to say about that is O.M.G.

Seriously. Pencil in a Twitter crash around July 13.

According to a recent slew of royal baby betting, and from what we've gleaned from news reports, that's the date when the royal heir(ess) will arrive.

At least it's the current odds-on favorite. Ditto baby Yeezus.

While their backgrounds, parenting styles and baby bump fashion couldn't differ more, these are without a doubt the two biggest baby stories of the year.

Does Us offer any legitimate insight in the covery story above? Doubtful. Does it have to? No, because they know people can't wait and will read anything.

On that pointless note, vote in our survey and tell us ...

Which baby are you most excited for?!

Will Kate Middleton have a c-section or a natural birth?

Will she welcome a boy or a girl? With what color hair?

When will he/she arrive? And what will the name be?

For royal watchers - and gamblers - worldwide, there's a lot riding on these questions, as sports books say they've seen a surge in action since December.

"The second we found out that she was with child," in December 2012, said Rupert Adams of William Hill, one of the largest bookmakers in the U.K.

While July has long been the expected month of the birth of Prince William and Kate Middelton's baby, we now have he first report of an exact day:

July 13.

Duchess Kate and William Pic

The UK Mail on Sunday quoted an unnamed friend saying "Some of their closest pals were at a barbecue hosted by a family friend of the Royals recently."

"Kate and William and their friends were all discussing the fact that Kate’s baby is due to be born on July 13. Everyone there was very excited."

If the baby cooperates, the birth would fall right in the middle of a four-day Coronation Festival marking the 60th anniversary of the Queen's coronation.

It would also lose gambling addicts a lot of money. Kate Middleton due date betting has been heaviest in the first week of July, according to reports.

As for the baby's gender, you can bet on that too (although recent talk suggests they are having a boy). What do you think they're having, THGers?

UK composer Paul Mealor has composed a royal lullaby fit for a king ... or queen.

Mealor, who wrote music for Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding, has penned a lullaby for the pair's firstborn child, due to be born in mid-July.

Classical artist Hayley Westenra will record the song, sweetly titled "Sleep On."

Pregnant Kate and Prince William

While recent speculation is that Kate is expecting a boy (Prince Harry believes this), the baby will be in line to inherit the throne after William either way.

It's only fitting that he or she will have a signature lullaby.
