The 31-year-old Kate Middleton gave birth to the prince on Monday, and the couple took him home from the hospital last night, just over 24 hours later.

Not before providing us with some precious Royal Baby photos, fortunately.

The couple confirmed the Royal Baby's name on Twitter moments ago:

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis," Clarence House confirmed.

Not even two days after she gave birth, Kate Middleton, Prince William and His Royal Highness the Prince of Cambridge are homeward bound.

Monday saw Middleton give birth to the as-yet-unnamed heir to the throne. Tuesday saw the proud parents pose for the first Royal Baby photos.

Wednesday, they're home. Simple as that.

Reporters and fans cheered loudly as William, 31, emerged out of the large double doors of St. Mary's Hospital with a Britax car seat in hand last night.

The good-natured prince hopped around the back of a waiting black Range Rover, securing his precious cargo in the back behind the driver's seat.

Kate Middleton slid into the back next to her son.

New parents Kate Middleton and Prince William debuted the Royal Baby just moments ago, posing outside the hospital door with the young one.

One day after his birth, the as-yet-unnamed Prince of Cambridge made his global debut outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital in London.

Palace reps confirmed that "the Duchess is to be discharged from the hospital."

The new family are expected to briefly go back inside the facility, put the newborn in his car seat, and then head home to Kensington Palace this evening.

Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed the Royal Baby Monday.

Maybe you heard that. It's a healthy baby boy, weighing 8 lbs., 6 oz.

As for the little heir's name, that has not been released at this time.

It's unclear when it will be, or if they've even chosen one, but bookmakers say George has the best odds (yes, people have placed bets on this for months).

Other fan favorite choices so far include James, Phillip and Edward.

While it's still anyone's guess what the Royal Baby name is, you can assume it will be traditional. No Apple, Cricket or North West for these two. Call it a hunch.

Until we know for sure, it's up to you to vote, THGers! Tell us below:

A healthy eight-pound, six-ounce boy born at 4:24 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in London today doesn't even have a name yet, but he needs no introduction.

He's the Royal Baby, people. A few hours ago, Kate Middleton gave birth to HRH Prince of Cambridge and future heir to the throne! Bow down!

The British royals aren't the only ones celebrating Kate Middleton and Prince William's new addition. Celebrities on both sides of the Atlantic are ecstatic.

Or at least turning to Twitter for their best one-liners. See some of the reactions below:

The royal baby is here! The royal baby is here!

After many weeks of keeping the masses waiting on pins and needles and keeping us guessing as to her due date, Kate Middleton has given birth.

She and Prince William have welcomed a baby boy!

Pregnant Kate and Prince William

A royal aide just announced the joyful news moments ago with a proclamation signed by the doctors who delivered the little HRH Prince of Cambridge.

Well, not SO little. His weight (8 pounds, 6 ounces) and the time of its birth (4:24 p.m.) were confirmed, along with the gender, via press release.

An official gun salute in London's Hyde Park is expected shortly, and the bells of St. Paul’s Cathedral are already ringing in honor of the future King.

Ever since Kate went into labor early Monday morning, Royal Baby Watch 2013 reached a fever pitch outside London's St. Mary's Hospital and worldwide.

Now that it's over, it's finally cause for celebration.

Kate Middleton and Prince William did not find out the gender beforehand, setting off a national guessing game (and online betting frenzy) for months.

With Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton awaiting the imminent arrival of their first child, the UK can't wait to see who is third in line to the throne.

The duo, known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since the royal wedding of April 2011, announced they were expecting in December.

The very pregnant Kate Middleton is due July 11 or July 13, depending on what you read. It matters little at this stage. Either way, that's any day now!

Kate Middleton is due to give birth on July 11, but will she go into labor early?

Obviously, we have no way of knowing that, but there's a plan in place if so.

If the baby shows signs of coming earlier than expected, she will be flown by helicopter from Anglesey, Wales, to London's St. Mary's Hospital.

Once checked in, she hopes to give birth naturally. However, should she run into delivery complications, an insider says "she will have a C-section."

The baby will be announced via a bulletin behind the gates of Buckingham Palace reading "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a child."

According to a palace aide, "There will be gun salutes, flag flying and bells. It's very exciting."

She's still marveling at the wonder of it all, says a source.

"Kate finds pregnancy fascinating," an insider claims. "She still says, 'I simply can't believe it' when you talk to her about a baby being inside her.'"

The father-to-be is just as transfixed, the source adds.

Kate Middleton is due to give birth to the royal heir(ess) in just a few weeks ... which makes this celebrity gossip tabloid cover nothing short of amazing.

Kate Middleton Delivery

Promising ALL THE DETAILS of the royal birth, Life & Style omits just one:

  1. Kate Middleton hasn't actually delivered the royal baby yet.

Despite this minor discrepancy, her family and security team have "rushed to the hospital," while Prince William has been "torn" from his wife's side.

Life & Style has taken up writing some historical fiction, apparently.
