Kate Middleton's portrait painter is speaking out in defense of his highly criticized, much maligned and often memed illustration of the Duchess of Cambridge.

After receiving less-than-glowing reviews (to put it mildly), Paul Emsley revealed to Hello! that he and his family were upset by some of the negative feedback.

Considering the Kate Middleton portrait was the biggest commission of his career, "I'd be inhuman if I said it didn't affect me," the award-winning artist said.

After her bout with the severe morning sickness known as hyperemesis gravidarum, Kate Middleton has taken to hypnotherapy to regain her appetite, a friend claims.

Kate “still looks at food and feels nauseous,” Jessica Hay told Australia's New Idea, adding that the Duchess of Cambridge hasn't been the same since.

She's plagued by “that feeling you have when you’ve had food poisoning and your stomach’s shrunk ... she finds it very hard to eat a full meal and gets full quickly."

En route home from war, Prince Harry "can't wait" to become an uncle this year and is "thrilled" Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting.

"Obviously I'm thrilled for both of them," he said, joking, "It's about time."

In an interview in Afghanistan, where he served since September, the prince says he had chatted with the couple when their news was released.

"I spoke to my brother and [Kate], and they're both very well and both very happy obviously," he says, expressing regret at how it came out.

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has been laying very low since announcing she is pregnant, but not so low that she's cut out her morning Starbucks run.

With little fanfare, she exited Kensington Palace for a very hush-hush walk through Kensington Gardens with dog Lupo followed by a trip to the coffee chain!

Escorted by a security guard, the 31-year-old Duchess "looked beautiful," according to an onlooker ... to the surprise of pretty much no one on Earth.

"Her hair was done nicely and she had a scarf, lovely long coat and boots on ... she was wrapped up warm, so I couldn't see the bump," the observer adds.

Kate Middleton is expecting a royal baby this July, her office confirmed Monday.

That's baby, singular. Rumors of Kate Middleton pregnant with twins? False.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July," read the simple statement.

"The Duchess' condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month," the statement also said, referring to her recent hospitalization.

The news that Kanye West got Kim Kardashian pregnant nearly shut down Twitter, but the spawn of Kimye may only be the second most famous baby born in 2013.

Kanye tells us to "Watch the Throne," but try telling baby West to compete with the heir(ess) to it. Kate Middleton and Prince William also are expecting!

With the exception of immense fame, these two supercouples have little in common. Their lives could not be more different, yet are equally scrutinized.

Kate and William are obviously family-oriented people, and say what you will about them, Kim and Kanye have/had close relationships with theirs as well.

The Duke and the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge had an art outing Friday - for the unveiling of Kate Middleton's official portrait at the National Portrait Gallery!

Her reaction to her portrait? "I thought it was brilliant," Middleton, who showed no sign of a baby bump in a burgundy Whistles dress, said at the reception.
