How is it possible that Kate Middleton is always so polished and poised, even when the wind is threatening to expose her backside to the world?

While attending a charity engagement in Canary Wharf, Middleton stopped to speak to St. Edmunds School student Tierney Potter, who had brought the Duchess of Cambridge flowers. When the wind caught Middleton's navy Orla Kiely skirt, she held it in place without missing a beat.

Potter "was nervous but excited" to meet Middleton. "The Duchess said she wanted to say hello to the rest of the class, so I took her inside."

Visiting the London headquarters of charity Only Connect with husband Prince William on Tuesday, Kate Middleton gushed about how big their son is getting.

During her two-hour visit to the facility, Kate Middleton chatted with ex-offender Aaron Russell-Andrews, 22, and his 20-month-old daughter, Teegan.

Russell-Andrews gave the new mom a personalized onesie to give to Prince George. The adorable outfit was a size 3-6 months, which she dubbed a "very good fit."

The royal baby, according to his mother, is "growing up so fast."

At one point in the exchange, Russell-Andrews' daughter apparently got a little jealous over the onesie. "Teegan tried to take back the babygro, she's very cheeky," he said.

Middleton sympathized, "They're very demanding at this age."

Kate Middleton has a beautiful smile and amazing hair. This much is not in dispute. The circumstances in which both were displayed this week, however?

It's an old rule of celebrity (and perhaps life) that you never allow a smile to cross your lips at a funeral, and some say the Duchess crossed that line.

Making appearance at a Remembrance ceremony, a series of photos showed Kate Middleton absent-mindedly twirling her hair and smiling at Princess Sophie.

Oh, the horror.

While no reports from media outlets covering the event suggest that Kate was heaving inappropriately in the least, the photos drew criticism just the same.

Pictures do have an unfortunate way of speaking volumes, though and to some Britons, these undermined the somber message of Remembrance Day.

There's no way Kate was actually acting disrespectfully or making light of such a thing ... but you can bank on a grim-faced look on her face in 2014.

The Duchess of Cambridge rode the bus and the tube this week in honor of London Poppy Day, but that wasn't the only transportation-related news she made.

Kate Middleton revealed that she has been taking flying lessons, making Prince William's wife even more awesome than previously believed (if that's possible).

The Duchess was taking the bus through London with her husband on Thursday in celebration of Remembrance Day this weekend, when she made the revelation.

The royal mom, whose grandfather, Peter Middleton was a Royal Air Force pilot, said, "My grandfather flew planes... I've had a few lessons on fixed wing (aircraft)."

Why does she want to fly? And where? The 31-year-old Duchess didn't elaborate on either, but how cool is she for picking this up as a spare-time hobby?

Naturally, this revelation has led to much hypothesizing as to what instructor is coaching her. William (who flies helicopters, not fixed-wing planes) is out.

Kate Middleton's post-baby body is thinner than ever, as you can clearly see in this photo taken Thursday, which is London Poppy Day. What is her secret?!

With Prince William at her side, the Duchess greeted staff at volunteers at Kensington Palace in London in a long red coat that was belted at the waist.

The outfit emphasized her svelte, slim frame, which is obviously back to its pre-baby shape less than four months after she gave birth to Prince George:

For the event, they rode a 1960s-era Routemaster bus, chatting with actress Barbara Windsor and folks from the Royal British Legion Poppy Day Appeal.

We have no idea what that means, but man, Kate Middleton is pretty!

The royal couple's social calendar is filling up fast. They will host a wonderland gala (featuring Taylor Swift!) for homeless charity Centrepoint November 26.

It looks as if Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are like any other proud parents who like sharing photos of their baby, young Prince George.

The royal couple released another sweet portrait of themselves with the three-month-old royal baby on Saturday, and it's worth a thousand words.

Sure, this is the future King of England, but any parents can relate to such a moment and the bond this new family shares ... and they're just so cute:

Oh, to be Kate Middleton, who makes looking amazing look so easy!

The Duchess of Cambridge attended the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Benefit Gala, her second formal event since Prince George's birth, just one day after the Royal Baby's christening

She showed off a rocking post-baby body in her navy blue Jenny Packham gown and proved, once again, that she has impeccable taste in fashion. Packham also designed the gold sequined dress Kate Middleton wore in September to her first formal appearance after giving birth.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for minimal jewelry and soft curls to accent the floor-length, ink blue frock. Her skin was positively glowing.

Official portraits of Prince William and Kate Middleton with their baby son, Prince George, taken after the young royal was christened, have been released.

Thursday, the Palace unveiled four images taken by celebrity photographer Jason Bell, who documented the historic moment for the royal family.

Clearly, Prince George was pretty stoked for the event ...

Taken in the Morning Room at Clarence House following Prince George's christening Wednesday, the infant takes center stage throughout the series.

His always fashionable mom (follow the link for a Kate Middleton fashion breakdown) steals the show as well. And William's alright too. Just kidding.

In another photo, Queen Elizabeth II, 87, poses with her three heirs in son Prince Charles, 64, grandson Prince William, 31, and 3-month-old Prince George.

The small, intimate royal christening of Prince George was the big story, but what his mom Kate Middleton wore was, as always, a major subplot Wednesday.

For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge again chose Alexander McQueen.

In a cream-colored short two-piece with a cascading ruffle-placket, she wore an adaptation of a coat dress seen in Spring / Summer 2012 McQueen collections.

Kate Middleton seemed to have coordinated the color perfectly with the family.

Camilla and Pippa Middleton were also in pale colors, while Carole Middleton, godmother Zara Phillips, and Queen Elizabeth II wore varying shades of blue.

Prince George's christening took place today at St. James Palace in London, with parents Kate Middleton and Prince William beaming proudly from ear to ear.

As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge pulled up in a dark blue sedan and made their way to the courtyard, a tiny cry could be heard from the guest of honor.

William held his baby boy, who was wearing the traditional lace-and-silk baptismal robe, first fashioned for Queen Victoria's son, the future King Edward VII, in 1841.

Kate Middleton wore a cream-colored skirt suit and matching fascinator by Alexander McQueen, whose creative director, Sarah Burton, also designed her wedding dress.

She also donned a matching hat by Jane Taylor and had her long hair brushed to the side for the special event, which was small by royal standards.
